  1. I certainly wouldn't. I got .ini and .cfg files for alot of emulators - just ask. Hope that helps!
  2. Best of luck to you, and remember - the forum's here if you need help (command line options, .ini / .cfg files, etc.) A new and flashy NVIDIA cad's less than $100 and will be twice as powerful as what you're using. Ebay is your friend!
  3. Well... I use the following emulators on GameEx and they work seamlessly. AdvanceMAME, MAME32, Zinc, Model 2 - Mostly working (aside from some Model 2 problems) 1964 - n64 ZSNES - SNES NEStopia - NES VisualBoyAdvance - GBA, GB Color, GB Mono KEGA - Genesis, Master System, Game Gear, Sega CD, 32X MagicEngine - Turbo Grafx 16 CD & PC Engine Neo Rage - Neo Geo Console NeoPop - Neo Geo Pocket Bliss - Intellivision Handy - Lynx MESS - Atari 7800, 5200, TRS 80, Apple IIe, Colecovision Stella - Atari 2600 Virtual Jaguar - Atari Jaguar I keep my ROMS seperate, so really I just set up each emulator to run each system (eg Sega Genesis, Master System, GBC, GB Mono, etc.) If you're having problems with any of these emulators I'd be more than happy to help you configure them. Really nothing to it once you get going. The real secret is really in the command line and it takes some digging and alot of trial and error to get it running just right, but it's worth it. Hope that helps!

    VBA emu help

Hi! In your vba.ini file (in the root folder wherever your emulator is located), locate: autoHideMenu= Change the value to 1, so it looks like: autoHideMenu=1 That'll do it.
  5. I put all my EMU pics in the GameEx > THEMES > Default - Default > MEDIA > LOGOS folder and they work fine. They appear no matter what theme I use so... Try that. And like Jpierre said: Also, you know you don't need to type the file extension, right? So if your pic is called 2600.png you'd type 2600 in the logo space. As an added tip - if you color the background of the photo black, GameEx will crop the background out for you! (Nice attention to detail Tom!) Hope that's helpful.
  6. Well it took a little digging, but I eventually stumbled on the MESS cmd page - although it says there's a mess.txt in the distribution (which wasn't there when I downloaded it just now) you can find all the options on their site MESS Command Line Options (Full List) Hope that helps someone with similar problems.
  7. Hi there. I use a PS2 contoller for MAME and it works perfectly... I use a SmartJoy adapter, but I don't think it matters much what adapter you use as long as it works in Windows... When you load up the ROM and press the TAB key to input the buttons of your joystick, does it not respond? Also note that if you're setting up, you should be in the Input (General) sub menu if you don't want to set up seperate controls for each game. Also under the General sub menu, you can assign buttons to 'Coin In' from there. As far as mapping buttons in GameEx to escape games from the controller, I don't use that feature so I couldn't tell you how to set it up, but I'm sure it's possible. If you still have problems, set up a config for your controller before you run it through GameEx (run MAME on its own) but I'm certain you can access the TAB menu through the GameEx GUI. I hope that's helpful...
  8. Hi all! I'm using MESS for my Atari 7800 Emulator and I need some assistance: Can anyone tell me either: What the command line option is to remove the GUI in MESS? That would be most favorable. If not... What's the way to send 'Scroll Lock' as a Sendkey? I tried {SCROLLLOCK} as the Microsoft page told me to, but it didn't work. Am I missing something minor here? Hate to say I don't know much about the SendKeys option, so any/all help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
  9. Hi. I use Magic Engine (which is well worth the $20 IMO) and you can get it to launch the ROM without going through the GUI rather easily... I'm not sure that's your problem but I think that's what you're asking since it runs in a window on default startup... Also, take note that unless you cough up the $20, you can only use Magic Engine for 5 minutes at a time. If you set up the Magic Engine's .INI file to run in Full Screen: fullscreen=y ; ; wide screen mode ; -- ; y -> enable ; n -> disable [default] ; ...Then you can launch the ROM directly without having to screw with the GUI or window. Your Command Line section in the GameEx config (GameEx.ini) should look like this: Command=pce.exe "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]" Viola! You're good to go. Hope that helps you!

    Snapshots?

THAT explains it! I thought I saw the option there when I first started... Thanks for your help.

    Snapshots?

Isn't there a way for GameEx to take snapshots on the fly instead of having to remember all the hotkeys for my emulators? If so, does it (hopefully) save them into the path specified by your FE for that particular emulator? I think I read somewhere that you could use Alt + 1 to do this, but ZSNES for one doesn't like that idea. Instead it just removes the background images from the game. Lots of games needing snaps, so if that's not an option, it couldn't hurt. Thanks!
  12. Yes I am... Hadn't changed anything from the previous installation. I had it set up properly before (I'm quite into this program and have already set up about 30 emulators to run seemlessly)... Not sure what happened. After I tried it again and it hung in the same spot, I crashed my tower (again...) and re-started gameex in Windowed mode. Viola! It worked fine. Scanned the gamelist in about 15 minutes. Unusual...
  13. Hi! I installed the much anticipated update, but after adding the Model 2 EMU, I set out to update the game list. After almost 2 hours, the screen still reads: Please Wait...... Getting Zinc Game List What gives? Do I have to crash my computer or what? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  14. Make sure your using the DirectX renderer? Delete your .cfg file for ZiNc and try again? Also, make sure you set ZiNc up to run full screen? Or if all else fails... Make sure you can run ZiNc from the command line. (You can, of course?) If you can and you did all the above... Good luck to you I say.
  15. What I do is move them to a different directory within the one your games are in. That way they're right there but the front end won't look in any other folders (if you tell it not to) Other then that.... no.
  16. If I had to guess... Under your config options for the emulator you're using (n64)... If your roms are zipped type, *.zip in the Rom Filter field. (if not zipped, type whatever the extension of the file you're running... like *.v64 for example.) If that doesn't do it... Under ROMS in folders? select No. Hope that's helpful.
  17. Is there any way you could add some type of database with a little history on various Emu ROMS? Like the one in Mame (history.dat), but written for other emulators / libraries? And make it easily accessible so one could add their own descriptions? That would pretty much put the finishing nails in an already amazing FE. Also... I thought it would look even more appealing if you could insert logos for your RSS / Streaming Radio links? Always looking for the extra cabinet bling. Thanks, and again... Awesome program! Keep up the hard work!

    KEGA?

Hi. I need some help setting up KEGA to run genesis, sega master system and game gear sections of the program individually. I'm new to this whole thing and just figured out Nestopia... This seems like a 'call in for backup' kind of job. Help me out with some .cfg settings? Thanks!
