  1. Okay... I can get JoyToKey.exe to launch successfully but I can't seem to get it to terminate... Anyone help me out? .:. EDIT .:. I got it. I don't know why it works this way but it does. LaunchBefore=start "" "C:\Program Files\GameEx\JoyToKey Pinball.lnk" LaunchAfter=start "" "C:\Program Files\GameEx\killjoytokey.exe" I used Amos's shortcut trick in an earlier post.... I also used an AutoIT script I found on the internet. I'm not sure who the author is... Extract that zip file to your GameEx directory. Then, assuming you use the default setup path, you can paste the LaunchAfter line right on in there. If anyone has issues using the other two previously mentioned methods, try this one instead.
  2. There's obviously something wrong on your end or it would be a problem with all of us as well...
  3. OK. I don't use .bat files but perhaps I need to start... I have Virtual Pinball setup according to joy2key controls. However, I want Joy2Key to run when I'm using VPinball and terminate when I exit it. Any way to do that? If so an explanation would be helpful. Thanks! PS - I used Amos's method in the Joy2Key Problems thread, but I was hoping for a cleaner way to do this.
  4. I've done something similar so don't worry. I added a new Ext HD and forgot to remap the MAME paths. I was so upset when I realized I overlooked the obvious.
  5. I have mapped my joystick to use the keyboard function... (Joy2Key) You're trying to do the exact opposite if I understand you correctly?
  6. I thought this was a joke. I guess I stand corrected. http://www.therealps3grill.com/ps3grillpics.htm

Good stuff Ling. It looks a-ok to me. I posted it in the usual place. Great intro BTW.
  8. OS on a slave drive is trouble from the gate. Why don't you... Install the OS on that 6 GB HD you mentioned, and install the ROMs and EMUs on the 40 gig? Nothing bad about having 2 drives... 6 gigs should be more than enough for XP w/ SP2 and GameEx. Not to mention the NET framework you'll need to install. Installing XP on a slave drive (or even a seperate partition for that matter) is a hell of a lot mre complex then you're gonna want to get yourself in to.

As Ling said, MAME runs these just peachy for me... I have over a gig of RAM though. Not sure what to tell you as I haven't any use for this emulator. Sorry.

Okay. The VB Script file you need should be part of the VBS pack you downloaded... Unless, of course, you didn't download it. In which case, you need to download the latest VBS scripts here. You may have to be a member of VPForums to access it, so sign up and grab it. That should solve your problem. Also, if you haven't already, be sure to install the fonts package too. Hope that helps!

You do have VPAUTO set to run also? What table are we talking about specifically?

Under VPinMAME setup, select the Setup Paths option: Make sure the following option is unchecked before installing.
  13. Isn't that what happens if you haven't set your MAME path properly? The crash after the nag screen was my 1st obstacle way back and I believe I had pointed GameEx to a folder for MAME artwork that didn't exist on the HD.
  14. Updated. Great job as usual Amos!
  15. Not at the current time, sorry. It really does more good than harm IMO.

I put together the portal I was telling you about. Try to keep me updated as new tuts come out and I'll gladly keep them updated. Nice work as always Ling! LingPanda's Captivate Tutorials for GameEx

    Sorry... Double post. My bad.
  18. Amos: Great work as usual! I re-upped your themes just in case. I always worry about those free file transfer sites taking down links. Here's the link. It's cool to see people creating themes for different resolutions than just the good ol' 1024x768 and 800x600 resolutions. Makes GameEx even more adaptable than it already is!
  19. A.) Yes: I completely hide Windows on my cab. Set up everything so nothing will even remotely run in the background including screen savers (since this interferes with a couple emulators I'm using as well)... Except Norton of course, and unless I load it myself. B.) Yes: I set them all to 'Disabled' myself so I know for a fact they are disabled.
  20. Pretty awesome Kaze! You were able to code this plugin without any of the hardware... You're some kind of sick computer genius you are! I never thought to add LEDs to my cab before, but on my new cocktail cab I'm refurbing I'm gonna swallow hard and invest. I can't wait to try this out! Kudos to you, sir!
  21. Any way to set up GameEx so a specific key has to be pressed to exit attract mode? Not sure if it's even doable per se... Just thought it was a good idea for those of us who can't afford the Bluetooth technology. *shrugs* I am OK with another wire in the cab, just was curious.
  22. I would have to agree, since I never had this issue before I updated to 7.09 But I'm no programmer so IDK for sure. *shrugs*
  23. I thought if you had an insanely fast machine, the proper CHD files and disabled all the sound from it you could play it for a short while before it crashes...
  24. That doesn't sound good... You tried deleting GameEx.ini in the config folder? If not, try that and set it up again. Or, and I'd say this is your best bet - uninstall GameEx from the control panel, then delete the folder from your Program Files menu. Then reinstall GameEx again. .:.EDIT.:. I was asking you to export the emulator's config file, not the GameEx config. I fear you may have misunderstood me. You should have been able to export emulator configs through the emulator's menu on advanced config page 2 or 3.
