  1. I'm willing to bet it doesn't work outside of GameEx if it doesn't work in WMP. I would try reinstalling the sharkpack as a means of eliminating that.
  2. Yes you would have to change some settings, that's true. I guess for me vanilla MAME is perfect for my setup. Others may disagree though.
  3. I LOVE my modded Wii! I just set up a network share for my Nintendo emulators so it pulls my games and movies (thanks to MPlayer) right off the cabinet in the basement. Mine is actually in the bedroom though, so lately I just play Lufia in bed. Now that they've figured out how to sign homebrew on the PS3 (with a custom firmware on the horizon!) the Wii may go down a notch.
  4. So where to begin? You will have to compile your own version. Not only will you need to get the 0.133 files, you'll also need the HI for 0.133 (each version is different according to build). You will not lose any of your current settings since you're generally using the same thing with a few added lines of code. You can update your rom set after you do the compile, I think you'll have to to add in the hi score functionality. If I could make a recommendation, use Headkaze's MAME Compiler which pretty much automates the whole thing. If you need any more help feel free to ask. There's a bunch of us that compile our own MAME versions.
  5. Adultery77 and I also have Black Ops but it's my kids that play it. And Halo. I am currently playing Fable II and Star Ocean is next. I admittedly don't use it as much as the PS3, and I suppose you would say I'm really more of an RPG guy than a FPS guy. Feel free to add me though!
  6. Ha! That was an easy one! Glad to hear you got it working, and welcome to the wonderful world of registered GameEx! We're here to help you if you need it!
  7. You forgot my favorite use... electronic door stop! I have two of these. One is JTAG and one is normal. Best of both worlds you see.
  8. Yeah. Just make a new ini (like Super System.ini for example) in your text editor for each category you want. Also if you have a JPEG or PNG file that matches the list name, you can also add icons to the list. It's one of my favorite features (although there are many)! .EDIT. Oops! I see by your screenie that you added an icon already!
  9. Cool! Thanks for the advice! I'm still waiting on the new video card to bind my pinball setup to GameEx, so this will be a nice touch (not to mention a huge time saver).
  10. And you help make it that way friend! :-)
  11. If you don't use a full install you will run into a bunch of problems. I've seen others answer similar questions and there seems to be no real way around a full bown OS install due to the many Windows components GameEx requires. Sorry.
  12. You can create a favorites list to do this. There's a thread here about that already, but I'm on my mobile phone and the full version of the board takes forever for me to load. Just do a forum search for 'MAME custom list' and post back if you need anything further.
  13. I don't shell my logon screen but I use bootskin and WindowBlinds on my Vista lappy and haven't noticed any performance lag at all. My lappy is a beast though.
  14. +1 for Stardock. I use several of their apps. They're intuitive and easy to use!
  15. Cool! Couldn't have happened to two nicer guys! Congrats!
  16. Thanks Tom! Just in time for my new GameBase set!
  17. your snaps must be in JPEG or PNG format and must match the name of the table. Do you maybe have some GIF snaps mixed in there?
  18. GameEx uses the media player library so u gotta update that. I think that's what Draco is saying.
  19. Hmm, so this is only happening in MAME manuals then? Or all game manuals? I just haven't really noticed a problem on my setup. If it's MAME specific, he may have just forgotten to update the GS settings for MAME when we moved up several versions just a few builds ago. .:SIDEBAR:. Tom, is this some sort of sick and cruel joke? Heh heh! AmbienceFile=L:\-DATA-\-MP3-\4 Non Blondes\4 Non Blondes - What's Up.mp3
  20. You don't have Tom's VPLoader script enabled?
  21. As Draco said: It can't be that unfortunately. Could you try and install the manual viewer again please? It's working for others using the same OS. Just for argument's sake, is what is your path to the manual viewer? Do your ebooks work and not game manuals? Could you maybe post a manual so I can have a look and see if I can reproduce this error? Better still, can you post your GameEx INI?
  22. Anybody willing to start a netplay game to see if I finally got this bad boy running correctly?
  23. Hi everyone. I have added the artwork for GameBase to my setup, and now I would like to set it up for GameEx. Can someone recommend a good emulator to use for C64 games? This is new terrain for me, so the easier the better. I really wanna play The Great Giana Sisters.
  24. I'm sure I'll be pestering you for help as soon as my new video card comes! Thanks for the input.
  25. You sure you have your path settings correct for game manuals? Are they zipped or something? Your log says it can't find your game manual images. Please verify the settings are correct and the files aren't zipped or inside folders, and paths are set correctly. If you still have problems let me know and we'll go from there. :-)
