  1. Hi everyone. I got SSF running on my machine outside of GameEx, but it crashes SSF within GameEx. I have Daemons Tools Lite installed and I have one game for testing in BIN/CUE format. This is really driving me nutso, maybe someone can have a look at my config and figure out what the heck I'm missing here. The error I get from SSF is CFILE whatever that is. Anyways, here's my emulator INI: Thanks for the help!
  2. Awesome! Glad to hear you got it working!
  3. Sure it's pretty simple actually. Right click the exe you use to launch the game and select 'create shortcut'. Rename that file whatever you like. Cut that shortcut and place it in a folder somewhere (one folder for all your shortcuts you create). Then go into GameEx Advanced Config. Select an empty config and import the '[PC] Microsoft Windows' pre-configured ini and click the import button to the right of the dropdown menu. Now just make a few changes: make the working path and the ROM path the shortcut folder you created earlier. Make sure the emulator is enabled. If your games start in full screen like all mine do, you can also change 'show desktop' to 'no'. The game should now load when you select it from the GameEx list. If you need more help I got you. I use this method for flash games too and it hasn't let me down yet by the way!
  4. It shouldn't. I run all sorts of Bejeweled games via Windows .lnk files. Two (twist and the newest one) I installed from the actual disc, the original Bejeweled I bought from I think iWin.com and none of them that I know of lose focus when they start up. My thought is that you should make shortcuts to these games and add .lnk to the ROM filter and run your games that way because it totally works 100% for me this way. For games that need the disc I just have a seperate emu set up and use DaemonTools mount it up and combine the two emulators into one group.
  5. I don't have my log handy but I. Bet this is just exactly my issue too. I watched a bit of a video, it was fine. I watched a whole episode after that and escape wouldn't exit the video, but I hit a right click and GameEx spits out the boolean error I got before. Although I can't be sure now that I updated between, or before. I'll reproduce the error and post my log and ini as soon as I get home from work. .EDIT. I actually get the GameEx error of it crashing after I get the Windows 'GameEx has encountered an error and needs to close. Sorry about the inconvenience' window... If that helps any!
  6. I'm starting to think that this is exactly the problem. The version Tom updated from before didn't have a 32 and 64 version, so the old version probably needs to be completely uninstalled before updating. Maybe.
  7. Scratch that. Exiting the video just crashed GameEx for me again... Guess I maybe jumped to a conclusion too early. Although I did update my GameEx right before I watched the video in full, so maybe something changed?
  8. I wonder if this wasn't a residual install before we upgraded GhostScript recently? Can I mark this as "resolved"?
  9. Sorry Tom, but since I upgraded to the Core 2 and the new mobo everything works absolutely perfectly for me now. I'm even using the same video card as before (although it's an 8x AGP bus as opposed to a 4x bus). Videos play seemlessly, internet works perfectly, and YouTube videos work wonderfully now. Not to mention preview videos load super quick and GameEx starts up much faster (obviously). If there's anything I can tell you to help narrow down what's changed I'm here for you. Sorry I couldn't bug test.
  10. Ahh spoiler... What a fine idea! I wish I had thought of it! I post my config in code boxes sometimes, but that keeps things really clean there! Bravo Frequency!!!

    zinc

It's pretty simple actually. Look under Advanced MAME settings and hook in your zinc.exe - GameEx will sub ZiNc for MAME while using your current ROM set. It's 1000x easier that way, but it still may require you to do some tinkering to get it just right.
  12. Maybe this is related to the new MAME bug with too many games? Once that's resolved, we'll get back on this. Sorry I can't be of any help right now as I am temporarily without cab.
  13. Thanks Draco and well put! We all volunteer here, and sometimes it's kind of like a job. This is an active forum full of knowledge, helpful folks, and enthusiasts over something that should be fun. Let's all pitch in and do everything we can to keep it that way! I don't know of any other forum where you can get answers from seasoned vets over just about anything even remotely related to emulation. I for one would love to see that continue indefinately!
  14. Love of emulation binds us! Oh, that and a lack of completely self righteous dicks when someone asks a simple question! Great support and an awesome community has kept me from ever considering even looking at another front end. You guys rock! And thanks for everything!
  15. I can see the overlays yes. It says the time, not zoomed. I fear that this may stop being a problem for me over the next week though. I just got done upgrading my mobo. I will be installing GameEx back on it as soon as my new RAM comes. With my luck everything will work again with the upgrade. Not gonna be able to do anything for the duration though. Hopefully the move will be a smooth one.
  16. Hmm. Try and run one with GameEx in window mode so you can see what the error message is. Usually a beep means some type of promt is popping up.
  17. Hey man! We all started from there. It will come to you! Glad we could help! Answering all questions sharpens our ability to help others.
  18. I mentioned it earlier but I had brackets on because my list was showing clones. My problem was that list filters weren't working. Sorry but that won't help you as you would know if you added your own custom list as it takes some effort to create one.
  19. I want your kids please! All I got was a crummy sweater and some cheap aftershave! So if you have an unattached garage say, does it reach out there too? Or is it just the house's grid? You need a module at each outlet too right? Or is there like a special outlet you can wire in? Sounds almost like the wave of the future!
  20. Shouldn't need to delete it, just remove the reference to it in your GameEx config. Yes, and see how many you are missing now as some parents get moved to clones and clones cannot run without parent rom sets.
  21. After you disable or reenable stuff and whatnot, you are updating your list right? Did you audit all your roms after updating mame using clrmamepro or something similar? You can also try removing your favorites.ini and update your list again to see if it works.
  22. No problem. Glad you got it working again.
  23. Do you have custom lists?
  24. You don't have any filters on such as only working games or no clones or adult or mahjong etc?

    GameEx error's

Not here, but I deleted the cached list just an hour or so ago to see if my filters would work again (they did!). My list is working just as it should as far as I can tell.
