  1. This has never happened to me, but I suppose since I keep MAME current it wouldn't. *shrugs*
  2. It's -cheat for the argument. Pretty easy to just add it into the command line switches imstead of creating a config for this in my opinion.
  3. ^^Same here, or at least it was around the same time everything went wonky. I have been away from home but I will get my INI up as soon as possible.
  4. Long story short, I have all the parts after I put the new board in the cab to build a dedicated jukebox. I was wondering if anyone uses this software, and if so, could you answer a couple easy questions for me? It really looks like the best option for me at this point, but if you know of any software that will handle this task better, feel free to make suggestions.
  5. What do you mean probably? I don't know a single chick who stands up to pee! Heh!
  6. Glad to hear you got it working! Welcome to GameEx!
  7. Being a Steelers fan from Wisconsin it'll be a rough two weeks of people hating on me at work! And ya, the Sanchez pick was a classic Sports Center moment! Hahaha!
  8. Shark007 Vista codec pack.
  9. Honestly I was hoping for a miracle out of an older board. Still not happy with how it's performing so ready to add another core.
  10. Did you install the Shark007 Vista codec pack?
  11. I use the Divx codec for mine. SOme people recommend FFDShow too. It's really a matter of preference.
  12. If you want to you can just delete the games you don't want from the list. It's unusual that you don't have a favorites option there though... Try opening up GameEx advanced config, select enable/disable features, and look and see if there's a way to enable your favorites list.
  13. After testing just now I can confirm that the default theme does not work. No background vids, and does crash GameEx in windowed mode. Escape takes forever to do anything and the result is a crash.
  14. Am I hearing this correctly? I ordered a new mobo and a Pentium Core 2 Duo but it only supports 2 GB ram (ddr 3). I mainly ordered it because it's one of the few that has an AGP 8x slot, and I just bought a 1 GB Nvidia video card a few weeks ago. I was planning on putting XP back on it and figured it would be speedy as hell, but if Windows 7 really is the way to go, I should consider it as a better OS? XP has been good to me so far, so unless it's a huge difference I'd just assume stay where I am. I have a license for Windows 7 sitting here doing nothing already (I opted to leave Vista on my lappy since it has also been good to me and my parents got me Windows 7 as a gift for keeping their computers running). Thoughts?
  15. Plus as long as you have a MAME exe that's current and all the parent roms you're trying to run you should be ok as many of these (for sure dig dug) hasn't changed in a really long time. And I'm fairly certain your current rom set is split not merged.
  16. You'll need to remap whatever your control is for volume in MAME. You can find it under the tab menu while running the mame game (any one) and selecting controls for all games. It's in other controls after all the player xx mappings.
  17. ...er contribution. Looks nice. Makes me want to rebuild the box I'm replacing and put it together as an HTPC
  18. I just ordered a (seemingly) rare dualcore agp board that will double my RAM. Now I'm worried.
  19. Are you sure you don't have the 7z/GoodMerge option set to "yes" on the 3rd page of the emulator config under GameEx Advanced Config?
  20. Is this in any way related to the AGP video cards? Maybe the small handful of us still haven't made the switch to PCI-E? It's probably a long shot...
  21. Unless you mean preview videos, there shouldn't be anything else running in the bg. I will try running in windowed mode first, then I will try using the default theme. I wonder if its related to my high resolution I run? I'll report back with my findings as soon as I can get to it (I'm working right now).
  22. Is there any way I can help you isolate it? All I get is a GameEx crash. Windows works just fine after. When the browser craashes I usually get a JIT debugger window, but this doesn't produce one. Does it matter that the preview seems to play and it only crashes after launch of the video itself?
  23. The title says it all. After exiting a video, GameEx crashes. It's XviD and it plays fine in Media Player and on my Media Sharing server. Log file attached. I should also mention it's extremely laggy when I try to watch it within GameEx.
  24. My votes for 'best' on a lower-end system are: NESTopia, ZSNES, PJ64 (Beta version), MESS for Colecovision, Atari 2600 5200 and 7800, Intellevision and Vectrex, pSX for PSX, and DOSBox for DOS. Oh and VBA for Gameboy andv Advance, No$GBA w/ Zoomer for DS, and Fusion for Sega CD, Genesis, Master System, and GameGear. These have all been working great for me since the begining, and nothing could make me want to change. I might sub in MAMEPlus! for MAME just for the ability to filter the gfx too, but I use vanilla MAME since it's easier for me to compile my own build.
  25. Here's one inconsistency I noticed: Although it would be nice if GameEx REALLY did everything, I think you meant to type GameEx instead. You got the drive letter right I assume?
