Not sure about button combos. I use L3 on my PS2 controllers to exit. You can have joy2key load a specific profile for each emulator via the command line though, set it up in the 'also launch' field. That would solve the different emu different setting problem. When I get home I can tell you the exact perameters if you need them.

My 256 still stutters on some games unless I mute the sound. It really may be a different issue entirely.

Not really. I'll let someone who has this feature working answer this one, as I haven't had any luck getting this to work for me either. I actually use joy2key for this until my iPac arrives and I go to buttons instead of joypads.

I'm willing to bet your paths are incorrect. Can you post your log?

@Tom: Love this update, weather looks really nice, and I like the scroller features. If I could make just one suggestion for improvement: Could you either make the scroller speed adjustable or make it faster? It just moves too slow the way it is. Also, if you have the same RSS feed on different pages, can you make it carry over instead of starting over from page to page? That would also be awesome! I really do love the weather icons you made. It makes the landing and emulator pages just that much more attractive. Nice touch!!!

And on the other end, GameEx won't display snaps on Gamer Cards and GameEx Live if you only have videos in the directory. I just keep one folder with both, and separate folders of each for the Artwork Download Utility.

I thought one of the options is to press ESC to take a snap instead of having it time the 30 secs or whatever?

Yeah it wasn't working for me probably for the same reason OpenBOR doesn't. I snagged most of my artwork from an online pinball table database... I can't remember the name offhand, but it was like maws is to mame but for pinmame.

I wonder if you're having sound buffer problems. I have this too, especially with Mortal Kombat 2. Just a small command line adjustment if that's the problem. If you guys figure something out it may just help me too so keep me posted!

Ahh so this is its own emulator then?

I did peek into that a little. For someone who doesn't use Amiga or C64 there's no real benefit? Or does GameEx list emulator clone and series data like it does for MAME? THAT would be a nice touch. Then again I'm not sure I fully understand the capabilities of this FE. Maybe it doesn't do that for the usual emus like NES and SNES?

Can someone briefly explain to me what this is and why I should have it? I've spent a huge amount of time setting things up just so, and would hate to lose all my hard work over something I may never need.

Vista has been good to me too. Connecting to the network and file sharing with the other three XP machines in my house was another issue! Although I have fixed a few Windows 7 machines I don't have a machine that runs it yet. I was looking at a new board on Newegg and when I decide to purchase it it will run Win 7bfor sure. I already have a licensed copy I'm itching to use!

Hey... Isn't XP SP3 out? Are you unable to update your copy? A lot of my remote desktop problems were solved with the latest service pack/further updates. Especially with the connectivity with my Vista machine and printer sharing problems. The other constant pain in my ass was Norton, but got off that meat wagon a while ago.

That always seems to be the way! And they must be smut bloodhounds, because everytime I come downstairs they have some borderline porn game rolling. Unfortunately for them, the snickering gibes them away everytime. Thanks for the tip.

Not a hijack, but I've ben down with GameEx since April of '06 and I love it too! Just getting less into tweaking and more into playing now. Been awhile since I made a theme (v2 was the last one I played with), but I think there's a wat to edit the theme INI file to make the changes you're after. HK could confirm that I think.

Thought about this too, but my worry was that the games would show up again after a list update... This is not the case? If so, I don't mind manually filtering out games I don't want like I do for emulators. I just don't want to do it every time I update my MAME build, which is every major revision.

So uninstall and do a clean install? Did you bring any settings with you or just start fresh? What exactly are your advanced MAME settings for the filter options? Mine's so customized I really don't want to do it all again unless I absolutely have to. If you would be willing to pm me a copy of your gameex ini I would be truly and eternally greatful!
