  1. Hey GTB, A few questions: 1. Can you provide a copy of your log file or at least let us know what OS and service pack? If you can provide the log files from both machines, this will allow for a side-by-side comparison and possibly help to troubleshoot. 2. Has GameEx run smoothly for you on this PC before or is this a fresh install on another machine? 3. Have you tried updating/reinstalling the latest nVidia driver for your GPU? Thanks!
  2. OK, gonna have to kiss the missus, gas up my Titan and head up to Adultery's before winter sets in and see if I can get a hook-up to one of those old cabs!
  3. I know I have posted my "Why" a bit ago. I actually caught the bug for emus and building a cab when I first started playing with virtualization (VMWare, Windows VM, etc.) and stumbled upon a blog where they highlighted an arcade cab by knieval customs dedicated to Guitar Hero and built from a Marshall stack. Of course, as I started to explore MAME, I saw that there were other emus for old systems that I have owned/played over the years and realized that havign the "one ring to control them all" was a must - which led me first to Maximus Arcade. I tried the demo version, checked the forums periodically.. again, and again. Very few updates from the programmer or admin if at all. Mostly people sending their payment and wondering when they were going to get their key for the full version - for weeks at a time. During that same time, I was also checking out GameEx. I downloaded the free version and started tinkering. It didn't take long before I decided to eliminate the nag screens and unlock all the features it had to offer. I was hooked and my wife has been rolling her eyes at me ever since.
  4. Not a bad setup! I love Frets! I actually got pretty good with it using an old Dell keyboard and F keys. I haven't ported it to my new PC but have close to 300 songs. I may wait until I get into cab building as I have Gutiar Hero for the Xbox 360 which will likely stay in the living room along with the HTPC.
  5. Brian/All - Sounds to me like he may not be updating the old DA version, possibly due to the default path of that install. Feel free to correct me if I am worng. Cpieczonka - Can you confirm for us what the install path is for your DA version of GameEx is? By default, GameEx (for non-DA users) installs in C:\GameEx when downloaded and ran.

    U64 Config

What is the latest version of U64? Is it the emu for the Killer Instinct games?
  7. No cab here - got the bug to build one, unfortunately the bug didn't fall off of a money tree. Likely (and I have the wife's approval provided money is available) to build an HTPC in the future for DVR and games so will more than likely go that route and consider a cab at a later time.
  8. Working for me now as well - thanks, Tom! Edit: I noticed that I cannot change the topic to resolved, so if someone can do that for me - thanks!
  9. Now I get "[#CHAT-02] You do not have access to our chat room."
  10. Web Search would be good! Also I am gonna be a little shameless and plug for my previous enhancement request (if possible) to create playlists for games across emus (kinda like favorites, but on steroids and able to store multiple lists).
  11. Tom/Admins - I am getting the following error attempting to access the chat room: [#1090] The chat room has not been properly setup by the administrator (the chat room account number has not been supplied). This occurs when attempting to open in same window or separate window.
  12. Tom - do ya think we could get Netflicks for free in the next version? Thanks for the update! BTW - what are the settings for Hulu that you are using for the default?
  13. Hey Merc - Installed with your copy of GameEx is a theme editor should you decide to modify an existing theme or create one of your own. Also, I would recommend that you either download and become familiar with GIMP (a freeware - open source image editing program) or purchase a copy of Photoshop for modifying/creating your own unique logos and graphics.
  14. Tom - not sure if you saw that we also have a thread for some experiencing ZiNC Renderer issues currently. Not sure if they are related but occuring at roughly the same time makes me wonder if they are part of the same issue. Can't say that I am experiencing any issues or not as I do not run ZiNC on my machine.
  15. Hi Marink - you may want to give us some more information - please see this post How to ask for help and use this to guide you in providing the information other forum members may need to assist you.
  16. Happy Birthday, B-Man!
  17. Mercury - you may want to review this thread as there is a useful guide by Ranzo with information for those not real familiar with using GameEx and emulators in general. Also, Tempest's guide to setting up emulators may also help to get you started and answer some of your questions.
  18. It is an interesting style to say the least. I wonder if it would be possible to have GameEx flip play for those 2 player games from one side to the other while allowing the player waiting to veiw from his monitor the action of his opponent or to split the action between 2 for simultaneous play? While some may be purests and want to leave the face and original monitors and coin doors intact, I might be tempted to cut it out bigger for widescreen monitors to accomodate more recent games as well.
  19. Was thinking of "Huey" from the Sci-Fi flick "Silent Running"
  20. Yeah, well, it is what it is. I didn't read all of the instructions, but I assume that I could use this to also randomize background images, etc. and not just one set of images, correct?
  21. That'll work for me! That is is more what I was thinking (with each startup) for those with multiple bezels and schizophrenic cabs with multiple personality disorders. You are awesome! Thanks!
  22. OK, this is spawning another enhancement request from yours truly! Would it be possible to program GameEx to install from random bezel files so long as they have _bezel.png in the filename and are placed in the BEZEL or BEZELV2 directories? I have seen quite a few bezels in my online travels that I would like to see displayed
  23. d'Oh! Reading is fundamental, eh? Also noticed running AMD Athlon XP 2600+ CPU as well - was the same chip as my old PC that was giving me the ACPI issues. The RAM is showng as 511MB. Cret - are you using onbaord video? Not that it should matter with regards to ACPI, but I know that it is generally not recommended for GameEx as optimal,
  24. What OS are you using? I was refering to the ACPI settngs in Control Panel. You may want to try swapping the PSU first (least costly). What mobo/chipset? I have heard of some having issues with Asus / AMD combinations in the past (had a devil of a time with my last machine getting the ACPI working right, then an XP update broke it and could never get it right again.
  25. Would still love to see a "play list" feature so that one could select games based on genre (Sonic or Mario/DK for example) across emus/platforms to augment the Search and Favorites features.
