  1. Of course you could strip it down and then have it powder coated to a nice glossy sheen - or mod the heck out of it! The Zalman cases are pretty nice, but I can think of a few ideas already to take advantage of the damage.
  2. Not sure why the media buttons are not working for you. I did a comparison of your theme.ini and I am not seeing that there should be an issue with the actions of the media buttons or their placement. What I would like to do at this point, if yo are game, is have you zip your entire theme as if you were going to submit it to the GameEx site and put it on one of the download sites (or host it somewhere if you have that ability) so that I can download it and see if I can replicate the issue you are having and/if so, come up with a resolution.
  3. Here are some links to a few post-apocalyptic case mods: Now this one is not post-apocalyptic, but still shows scratches, dings, and stains due to wear and abuse... Of course, there is also the DracLabs link in my sig for more.
  4. I guess that makes me a landlord then. I have kicked out a few in my time... "Kick the baby.." "Don't kick the baby!" "KICK THE BABY!" " EiEeeeeeeeee!"
  5. Send me a copy of your theme.ini file and I will take a look. Are you running the latest GameEx version 11.99?
  6. In Theme Editor you will find them under Task Bar > MCE Button Over and MCE Button Down. Are you French or Quebecois?
  7. LMAO! That's OK, and you are most likely correct. I am a fan of Warehouse 13 and they tend to mix the genres a bit. Everyone tends towards the retro-game look in the many themes I have viewed for this and other front-ends and I like them. However, I thought it would be a cool change in the HTPC arena as I have not seen anything like it in my "surfing" thus far. I may decide to go more in that direction than hard-core steampunk and it may end up being a blend of the two... we shall see!
  8. I have always been fascinated with the steampunk styles that show up in movies, such as Disney's "20,000 Leagues Under he Sea," "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen," "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow," etc. I have been tossing about an idea for yet ANOTHER HTPC theme based upon the look and feel of that genre. I have attached some of the logos that I have released before, but have added a sepia tone effect to them. I think that they would be fine with the theme, also along with a scan line effect as part of the actual theme foreground to overlay the image fields accordingly. As usual, your feedback is much appreciate!
  9. I do not use Zinc so I cannot speak specifically about the features. So far as I have been able to determine, however, there is no Hi-Score support. The links to the forums, etc. at the Zinc home site all appear dead and default to the main index page. I would hazard a guess that further development of Zinc is dead and a resolution to your question lies with the latest MAME versions and compiling your own version to include hi-score support for those games.
  10. What kind of controller and how is it connected? Are there any drivers involved? DId you check Device Manager to see if there are any devices showing a yellow triangle?
  11. On every level there are leechers in life. Sux when it happens to you. I have to imagine how much more it must suck for those that have to do it (and not saying for the ones that have the choice and do it anyways) to survive.
  12. I have had friends and family members deal with great loses due to fire. My aunt lost her home a few years ago to a fire while at the hospital on the day my uncle died from surgical complications following abdominal aneurysm repair. Talk about a double-whammy. It is horrific to say the least when you have so many things, momentos, pictures and keepsakes. I thank God she was not there. Surprisingly, some things that were important to both did survive because they were shielded in a fire-rated safe.
  13. Dammit, I could totally do that myself! Great link! Thanks for the share, Adultery! Mod Ninja out!
  14. Bad info? Gads! Shark007 Codecs are pretty much the only way to go anymore. Not sure that anyone else has had an issue quite like yours.
  15. Still, if it looks like mold or fungus, could make it look like something from Halo (The Flood comes to mind). Just trying to help a brutha out!
  16. You're welcome! Marking this puppy as RESOLVED!
  17. What a way to go about modding a PC case! Seriously, I'd take advantage of those fire scars and create an awesome post-apocalyptic case mod. Then it wouldn't be an "old cruddy case" any longer but a work of art!
  18. Did you install the complete set of packs (assuming you are using Win 7 x74)?
  19. Open Setup Wizard and go to "Text/Language" or "Search" for "Custom Text" and you should find it at the Top of the Custom Text section.
  20. Welcome to the forums! One caveat that comes immediately to mind is with MAME where, even between "u" versions as of late there can be some big enough differences to make one's current set out-of-date and some games cease to show or function correctly. An auto-update for MAME and similar emulators would not be something I consider and could be disaster for someone with less experience to sort, IMHO.
  21. I had hoped it would stay put. For a period of about 3-4 months we were delighting in the empty nest. No kids, and 2 extra bedrooms to do with what we want. So we started painting, made one room into an office, and the other was about to become a guest/exercise room. Then my daughter and her boyfriend lost their jobs and, a few months later, my son and his girlfriend broke up and he moved back home. For over a year now we have been stacked like cord wood. Time to expand once again!
  22. I am back - well, sorta. Still setting things up and will be at least several days before I get all arranged as I prefer. I was originally setup between two PC carts and still am. Since I wanted one contiguous desk and keyboard surface and cannot afford to purchase a new mega-desk, I placed the carts side-by-side. I had purchased several finished 6' x 1' shelves from Lowes and some adhesive backed velcro strips. I placed the strips on the top surfaces of the desk, aligned the shelves on the top. I did the same between the keyboard trays - creating one 6' x 1' keyboard tray. This will give me some additional desktop surface, room to set down controllers, etc. So for a purchase price of about $60 I have a "new" desk! Now to purchase the 25' HDMI cable I found on Amazon for around $15.. YEAH, BABY!!!
  23. Shark007 Codecs would have been my first guess and advice based on what was described.
  24. All - I see quite a few issues that have been reported with GameEx, either as an issue as a result of GameEx updates, emulator setup questions, etc. with no indication from the user that the issue has been resolved or is still ongoing. In order to make things easier for the moderators and admins in performing daily housekeeping and focusing on urgent issues, please try to adhere to the following as much as is possible: Following these recommendations will help to ensure that reported issues do not get forgotten and can be addressed as promptly as possible., Thanks!
  25. Marking issue as resolved!
