  1. Why would he link to the game and where did he say it was free?
  2. Actually we posted at the same time.. so ! LOL!
  3. Generally speaking, it is usually best to work with an official build as opposed to a beta release of any program. They are pretty much "use at your own risk." Since it was included and upon doing a little further research, 3.2 is the latest and last version of STeem. Can you name the .dll file that is giving the trouble?
  4. Yes it will convert nicely to PSD. I have started to include both PSD and XCF with my projects since we have quite a few users using both products.
  5. 13:11:24.1 2011/08/25: Initialising DirectInput for Gamepad support 13:11:24.1 2011/08/25: Unable to create a joystick device I noticed the above in your log. Were you using the mini-USB software to connect your Gamepad? I would recommend clicking the "How to ask for help" link in my signature. I believe you are correct in your assessment of the software "stealing focus" from GameEx on startup. You may need to work within your system to have that software startup before GameEx so that this does not occur. EDIT: You may want to refer to this article on How to Control the Order of Startup Programs in Windows, particularly the batch file section. This may remedy your issue so that you can load the mini-USB software ahead of GameEx and setup GameEx to load last in the batch.
  6. Hmmm.. I wonder if you might be dealing with an access rights issue to the file? You may want to check for that by looking at the theme.ini properties. In the mean time, try editing the button placements again. Also after doing so and if the issue is still ongoing, please provide a copy of your log.txt, gameex.ini and theme.ini (just zip them together) and attach in reply to this thread. Thanks - Mike
  7. Since it is integrated in the live GameEx setting, I like it much better. Besides, I got to create a logo file for it in my Custom Menus and ya know I like doing that! LOL!
  8. @null - I am humbled, sir! Those look fantastic! Eventually I would like to do something similar for my original Xbox S-pads (found on ebay a few suppliers that sell the S-Pad female to Male USB adapters) as well as the Logitech Dual Action controllers (sans rumble). Having the files setup as a PSD (and/or XCF) for those images helps the users adapt them for their specific controllers much as Adultery has done with his for the Wireless 360 Game pads.
  9. Well... have you tried it or are you waiting for permission? LOL!
  10. I would simply copy your text, go to the thread on the forum, hit reply, then paste.
  11. Tom has made some recent changes with regards to Mappings. You may want to review the NEWS posts and consider updating to the newest version as there have been a great many fixes to GameEx since 11.74!
  12. One thing you could try is obtaining an older copy of STeem (most recent version prior to the one you are running), extract the .dll file in question, and replace the beta file with the older file (making a backup of it first). No guarantees that this approach will work, but until a solution is made by the author, wouldn't hurt to try.
  13. @Han - The fix was released on the 22nd - is this now working for you? Please let us know and mark the thread as [RESOLVE] if so. Thanks!
  14. I think that some of the limitations are going to be within two areas - what the emulator allows for enabling/disabling/modifying features and Gamebase (same criteria). I think that you can get around the prompt yourself by going to Advanced Emulator setup in Setup Wizard for the emulator in question, enter 10000 (this is time to elapse prior to sending keys in milliseconds) in the Wait Before Keys section and in the Keys to Send field type "{Enter}" - Note that it is using braces instead of brackets for use with MS Send Keys. The link is a great reference and provided for in the Setup Wizard as a point of reference under the ?.
  15. The gameex.ini file is located under \gameex\config\ path. You will need to zip it before attaching it in reply to this thread as the forum software will stop you from uploading any file with a .ini extension. Gamebase is a combination frontend/database/rom library of various systems, most notably those for the Commodore systems. If you are not using it, disabling it would be a good thing.
  16. @Krakerman - I will not be putting time in for Super Game Boy. My rationale is that i have already put together several extensive logo packs that cover most of the popular and obscure systems available. Since the tools to create the graphic images are out there, and, as much as I love doing work with system and theme graphics, I would like to encourage you and others to fill in any gaps that these types of system add-on's might fill within your systems and share back on the forums with the rest of the community. As always, we are here to help if you get stuck along the way or need some advice!
  17. I have not created many new logos as I have been concentrating on a new theme. I ask that for any specific requests that users post any console/handheld and logo images in the Graphic and Theme Editing thread over in the Social Club forum. I will review the requests and decide which ones I have time to work on or not. Keep in mind that if the system is actually a minor upgrade to a more dominant system with few if any programs written specifically for it, there is a likelihood that it will not get its own logo. Since my logo packs are generally pretty extensive, I would like to see the end users pick up the tools available and provide for the community the obscure systems.
  18. Starbuck - that sounds like a good idea! Would you mind posting this in the Feature Requests and Enhancements thread so that it will get the appropriate level of attention!
  19. Odd. Have you cleared out all cache files? EDIT: Load the gameex.ini file in Notepad and search for the following lines: [list_SETTINGS_0] displaybackgroundimage=True displayimagelist=False You will see multiple list settings for each emulated system. If you locate any settings that show displayimagelist=True, edit it to read displayimagelist=False then save. Load GameEx and see if this resolves the problem.
  20. Open Setup Wizard before booting GameEx. Click on Custom then Next. Select Display Settings, then click Next. Go down to "Display Image/Video List" and change setting to No. Next a few more times then Exit. This should remedy the problem and give you a text-only list when you load GameEx.
  21. Glad ya got it fixed! Enjoy your evening!
  22. I'm not sure as you noted, most everything is handled by Mame, although some of the megadrive features may make it worth it to someone that is just looking to emulate some of the more limited and obscure systems along with CPS1 & 2. Since I am in the "sharing" mood.. here is a new FB Alpha logo... Enjoy!
  23. Anytime, my friend! I am not a Zinc person so if I helped that is a good thing!
  24. I can see quite a few advantages, especially when slugging it out with a friend in Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter. Making one's own arcade, hitbox, or whatever is a source of pride in that you built something and made it your bitch! As for mapping joystick inputs, I seem to recall someone struggling a bit to make it so!
  25. Probably not or it would be in there! LOL! Do you have a good image for me to work with? No ETA announcement other than soon...
