  1. No access to a flash drive I take it?
  2. I know that, just poking ya in the virtual ribs. Just like some people really believe that if it says so on the internet, it must be true. I wonder what the Aussies call us here in the States?
  3. Tom - Is whining a Brit thing? I would never know it by watching BBC America. Well, except when Jeremy Clarkson loses to James May or Richard Hammond in one of their races on Top Gear. Logik1 - Being scuppered is a bit overstating, isn't it?
  4. While it isn't a requirement to have an internet connection, it does make it a little easier to update your rig. I believe you are in the minority, but not necessarily a small one regarding your cab. Likely you will have to make a compromise and either widen the existing hole to snake through an ethernet cable to hook up to your network or do your updates manually via a flash drive. I don't think you will have much success with wireless ethernet if the antenna is encased in metal. I think that in order for it to communicate out the antenna would have to be exterior. At least if connected to your network, you could enable Remote Desktop to remote into it (provided your version of XP supports it) to eliminate the need to hook up a keyboard and mouse when performing maintenance.
  5. I do not see where that would be any more useful than what is already available (side panel with list of sections). As wizards go, this one is fairly straight-forward and the search feature removes 99% of the doubt when looking for something when not sure of what section it might be. IMHO the end-user has a certain amount of responsibility in familiarizing themselves with the program and its requirements and, like government, the more you "dumb it down" for the masses (and, there is no insult intended here to anyone), the bulkier and less efficient it becomes.
  6. Tom - thanks for the quick turnaround. Awesome update and the fix with 12.22 works! Marking as RESOLVED!
  7. One option would be to download to an network connected machine the full install, then copy to a USB flash drive and install it that way. As for the internet connectivity, I have used (and still do for that matter) ethernet over powerline connections. It is great for remote locations and the throughput is comparable if not better than 801.11G speeds, depending on how far removed the source and destination ports are from being on the same wiring within the home's electric grid.
  8. Tom - a bug I have encountered with the latest release causes the Back option on the tool bar (or equivalent right-click on the mouse) to stop functioning when you go into a sub-menu from the Start page. For example, if I go into MAME, I can navigate forward and back without a problem, but I cannot use the back function to go back to the Start, I have to select Home from the Menu bar. Same occurs throughout the various sub-menus. Has anyone else encountered a similar response? .:.EDIT - I disabled Custom Menus and the problem vanished, so it appears that the issue is when Custom Menus are enabled. I have attached copies of my log.txt, gameex.ini and custommenu.ini files for review. GameEx.zip
  9. You mean to tell me there are games to be played when all is said and done?
  10. On this Veteran's Day, please take time to remember and thank those that fought for us to ensure our freedoms and keep us safe from terror and tyranny, regardless of your country.
  11. Sweet bartop, T-Jay! As much as it might pain you to look at what you spent, etc. it would be nice if you wouldn't mind outlining what parts you purchased or put into your machine, any troubles, tricks or tips for your build, etc. P.S. I moved your post to the pinned topic so that others new to the forums can find another great example easily!
  12. I recommend searching Microsoft Knowledgebase first before going to ANY other site "googled" or otherwise as they are often rife with trojans and virii. I found one that relates to this error: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/892613 While this is specific to MS Works 7.0, it is likely the cause is the same. Per the knowledgebase article: "CAUSE: This issue may occur after you install software that is provided by your Internet service provider (ISP) that installs an incompatible version of the Msvcr70.dll file." "WORKAROUND: To work around this issue, remove the ISP-provided program from your computer. For help removing the ISP-provided program from your computer, contact your ISP." If you have installed anything from your ISP or from other sources any browser "accelerators" or the like, you may want to perform a roll-back.
  13. Please provide a copy of your log.,txt and gameex.ini files. You may zip them together and attach in your reply.
  14. On the horizontal menu, click Change View until view is as you like it A minor difference When theme is loaded into the Theme Editor, you can suppress the displayed item by clicking on the visibility toggle (the "eye") and save theme. When theme is loaded into the Theme Editor, you can suppress the displayed item by clicking on the visibility toggle (the "eye") and save theme. It is possible to modify what options are enabled within the theme. I guess it is a matter of how bad you want certain features. I much prefer the V4 themes due to the added flexibility for the enabling of various features dependant upon what I am creating at the time.
  15. I have had no problems up-converting a theme from V1/2 to V4. Nothing nutzoid occured.
  16. Yup!
  17. Happy B-day!
  18. Happy Birthday! Yellow snow isn't as bad as everyone says.. now the brown snow.. avoid.
  19. Marking this as Resolved as of 12.18 release. I tested and it works as expected - at the start of the X coordinate and within the width assigned, the text scrolls toward the left allowing for more flexibility in placement of the Menu Bar and working with foreground top-most settings. Thanks, Tom!
  20. Please try moving your video snaps to the video folder now enabled!
  21. Did you audit your ROMS via MAME itself before updating the list in GameEx and are all ROMS visible in MAME outside of GameEx?
  22. Under the MAME menu in GameEx, have you selected "Update List?" Please do so again and report back.
  23. Awesome list of updates! Almost warrants making it a 13.00 release! Thanks, Tom!

    iTune

Whether or not you setup it up as an emulator or external app (which I think works out better in general), you will probably need to add it to the Multimedia category by creating Custom Menus using the Custom Menus application that is part of your GameEx install and a registered version feature.
  25. Not sure if it is related to what Necromancyr posted here.
