  1. Hi Jon - if you have another compatible GPU to install in place of the Trident I would recommend that. While I have not worked with one in years, I recall having quite a few problems with drivers and BSOD issues related to them when working on other people's PCs. If you have access to an ATI or nVidia card and are willing to give it a go, let me know how things turn out.
  2. Actually that is quite awesome! I could see using one of these for a cab - kinda neat to be able to access the PC from the keyboard tray!!! Now if they would do that with Atari 800 XL than I'll be there having owned one for a good number of years before making the jump to DOS/Windows machines!
  3. Lorecarver - Thanks for the share! Good idea. I hope you don't mind but I converted your Word doc to PDF so that others can use within their HTPC or Cab via the eBook Reader along with their other ebooks and manuals. GameEX Setup Manual.pdf
  4. Anymore issues with the paths or Verify bug or has all been resolved with the 11.79 release?
  5. Since there have been quite a few changes since 11.50, may I ask what the reason would be for copying your 11.50 gameex.ini file over the one in 11.79? Are you running into any problems or is there something else that we can help you with?
  6. Thanks, I will mark this as resolved!
  7. IMO I would probably not recommend it since there have been quite a few changes since 11.50. Are you still having the issue with the Setup Wizard or do you have another issue at play? If another issue, please start a new post/thread and provide copies of your log.txt and gameex.ini files so we can take a look at the issue.
  8. Thanks for the share, BK24!!!
  9. Thanks! I'll try to use the stick sparingly - except for the robo-spammers!! I will be a ninja on the edge!
  10. Thanks everyone! I hope not to disappoint! @fReq - No demotion for you!
  11. Hi Savage - Not exactly sure where to start as I do not shell my system. I would ask, however, that you provide us with a copy of your log.txt file after this occurs. Did this occur during the initial boot or following specific game(s)? If a game, what emulator(s) and game(s) or indicate if occurring on all attempted. Some things that i would probably try would be rebooting PC entirely and see if error replicates, reinstall Instant Sheller 0.07 and, again, see if you can replicate.
  12. Awesome guide and good point of reference for troubleshooting! Thanks!
  13. I would also recommend sending him an email from the email account that you initially provided when registering your copy of GameEx.
  14. Not sure but looks like there are some "presets" that have been submitted in one of the emulation forums here. This is the same link as the one at the end of Brian Hoffman's post.
  15. Yes you can. All the steps are to be followed as before with the exception of copying the mak file (no longer needed).
  16. FEATURE REQUEST - THEME EDITOR and/or SETUP WIZARD Be able to select in Theme Editor Options and or Setup Wizard to use a default background image and default foreground image to simplify the theme creation process and eliminate the repetition and excessive size due to so many images for each module, emulator, etc. For example - be able to select Startbak.png for all backgrounds, yet also be able to select a separate foreground. In simpler themes such as Brother Wolf that I recently uploaded I have to create a separate background file for each function. Since this is basically the same file, just renamed many times, this adds significantly to the size of the theme when one file would suffice. For a simple theme, I could go into each emulator or other modules that have the option of selecting a custom background file and point to it, but if this could also be done at the global level, it will certainly make things even slimmer. The problem with that approach is that I could not use varied or custom foreground images as the system keys off the name of the background image.
  17. The order from top to bottom of the images and various functional elements: - Top most layer contains Menu Bar, Weather Icon, Scroller, Up/Down Arrows, Media Controls, Window/Fullscreen sizer, List, Rating Pop-up - Foreground Image - Image, Image2 which displays logos, flyers, snaps, 3D Cabs, marquees, etc. - Background Image Hope this is helpful!
  18. The foreground images are a great way to apply a frame effect over the images (image and image2) in the themes. One thing I would like to see in the Theme Editor options (Yes, I will be putting in an Enhancement request for this!) would be to select in Theme Editor Options to use a default background image or default foreground image to simplify the theme creation process and eliminate the repetition and excessive size due to so many images. I will get back to your other questions later as I have a date with Doctor Who on BBC America to attend!
  19. Possibly not since you already have scan lines with the lower resolution (490p) of the TV.
  20. Arcade ambiance is either enabled or disabled and this is at a global level.
  21. Thanks!!
  22. I updated through GameEx - no problems here! @Wubble - If you select Custom, then click Next Arrow, then you can check the box next to the option(s) you wish to access/change. Not quite a "One Click" deal, but, there again, neither was Advanced Config.
  23. I don't think that there is a single answer to the question. For most people, IMO, I would have to say there is a lot of nostalgia involved and enjoyment from that. It takes you back to a happy place, especially if you had owned that system in the past. For others, I am sure it just comes down to bragging rights - "my cab can emulate a gazillion" old systems and I don't care that I have 300 iterations of Asteroids!" I would say that there is a 3rd category that enjoys the challenge of making things work, looking into the past of a system that they never used before. My primary interest is MAME, however, I have very fond memories of the early Atari and Intellivision consoles and the Atari 8-bit systems and I find them to be an enjoyable escape. I also enjoy my Xbox and Xbox 360.
  24. As threatened in my previous post in this thread... a b-day gift from me to the users!
  25. *BLUSH* Thanks!
