  1. I'm just glad that you and yours were unharmed. Material things can be fixed or replaced, lives can't.
  2. Anytime, oGC! Glad you got everything sorted out and this will be marked as RESOLVED. Don't be a stranger!
  3. Thanks, Ben! It is a good and very active forum so hopefully this will generate more interest in GameEx and demonstrate some creative submissions from Down Under!
  4. Oh my - she didn't mess up your new car I hope!
  5. All - I have updated the first post in this thread to include links to some of the more popular freeware imaging programs. If you have any good sites to recommend for well-supported imaging freeware or tutorial sites, please send me the information via PM so that I can track and add to the first post as able.
  6. Very good! I would recommend completing a comprehensive logo pack. Create a Logo Pack folder, then, for ease, you can have them categorized under folders as you have them grouped now (Social Media, Internet Music, etc.) within the Logo Pack folder. Once complete, zip the Logo Pack folder - this will compress all the files in the folders together in the one zip file. You can then contact Tom and let him know that you would like to upload a comprehensive logo pack for inclusion on the main site under the Media & Images section. He will send you instructions on how to send to him. This way, all can have access at a centralized location!
  7. @Krake - I think you are well on your way and thanks for the compliment! I knew you had it in ya, you just needed to be denied a little! As my ex-mother-in-law was fond of saying.. "It's better to want than to have." My ex-wife hated it but I knew what she meant. It means through want or desire, we are more appreciative when we achieve something through our own efforts and we are diminished when we are just given something. As for one at a time or in a pack, I think a pack is the way to go and preserve the legacy that you created for all to enjoy so long as there is a GameEx around. Occasional sneak peeks are cool, however!
  8. @Krake - I see you are a fan of the reflections! Looks pretty good so far! I have probably tinkered with Paint.NET sometime in the past. You will have to tell us a little about what it is capable of!
  9. I can accept that - I can come across a little SA once in a while, but I try to watch it as there is a greater audience that we want to attract to these forums and this software. We also do not have the benefit of seeing one's devilish smirk or winking and nudging from the other side of the keyboard. Please be mindful of that going forward and the "moments" will be far and few between!
  10. LOL! Not me, my friend. I like helping others to fix problems that can be fixed.
  11. OK, Han ol' buddy, ol' chum. I need to ask this and I do not mean it to come across as mean-spirited as this is not my intent. My question is, do you proof your posts prior to hitting submit so as not to say something that might just be a bit offensive to someone? You posted your dilemma last night, you respond about 18 hrs later with a solution - great! Share your findings with the forum as it is useful information to say the least. But dangit, dude, give us a.) A chance to respond. You may be right in that we are not running the same setup or even the same emulators/systems as you, b.) To say we are slow on the help to me is a slap in the face. There is nothing in being an Elite, Moderator, or Admin that guarantees any forum member instant or 24 hour or less response. I think it's fair to say that we generally do so with a great many issues because we have a desire to help and learn ourselves. While talking of fairness, keep in mind that all of us receive no financial compensation and do not expect it as we are here for the love of the hobby and the friends made along the way. /SOAPBOX MODE [OFF]
  12. Good afternoon - Can you provide copies of your gameex.ini and log.txt files so we can take a look? Thanks!
  13. Pretty good work, Han! So that the purpose of this thread doesn't get off-topic much further, I ask that discussions of game pad functionality, etc. be taken to another, more appropriate thread. I understand that we all get side-tracked and segue to another topic quite easily. That being said, there is really only this thread speaking to the topic of image and theme editing specifically and a great many addressing hardware and emulators. Thanks!
  14. @Krake - I think he meant his preference for Xpadder could have the appearance of a shameless plug for the offering of one of our contest sponsors and was in jest, not referring to your preference for PGP.
  15. This hits just keep on coming! Thanks Tom!
  16. If you continue to use these images, I suggest using different colors whenever you have intersecting lines. Whenever I create training materials, I try to avoid intersecting lines as much as is possible, but if there is a point where that is unavoidable, I use a different color so the reader's eye is less likely to stray to the incorrect element.
  17. I love doing it, so if I get a job doing what I love, well all the better! It is the people that are the problem. I wish they were all dogs or kittens. I like kittens!
  18. Not too bad, Han. The only criticism I could throw is that when looking "at a glance" it could be a little confusing trying to translate what the controls are from the original system controls to the game pad. It may work for you if you are familiar with what buttons on the original systems are fire, start, etc. Since I am not familiar with all systems, it would be more confusing for me.
  19. If you go to 720P should be sufficient I would think.
  20. Glad that worked out as expected for you and good to see ya in the forum!
  21. Have you tried XMTuner to see if it can be launched via WMC and/or Boxee?
  22. Oh I will be about - ya cant get rid of me THAT easy.. LOL!
  23. Thanks! I am really excited to be working again. If anyone is curious, they engage in emergency response to insured that otherwise could not get insurance in Florida for hurricane coverage. They have a great website that tells it better than I can.
  24. Well I got a job.. Remains to be seen if it is THE job, but it is a paying job and, while not paying as much as the old one, I will get to work on PC repairs and network/applications support issues so an opportunity to broaden my skills beyond call center - customer service is always a good thing!
  25. Some sites with ROMS are OK provided that the ROMS they provide are Public Domain (i.e., Homebrew or former commercial versions released to the public by the manufacturer with no copyright violation). If it isn't clear that the content of the sites ROMS meet the definition of Public Domain, don't post them. Here are a few that I frequent occasionally - mind you these are not necessarily gaming or emu sites: Missing Remote - "Your source for everything home theater & HTPC related" Flaming Text - Logo Design and Name Generator - An excellent source from groovy text and effects. Computer History Museum - The first 2000 years of computing (So you might actually LEARN something other than that killer button combo that smites all in Mortal Kombat).
