Did you see the latest Variant cover for the latest issue of Deadpool (#27)? It fits right in with GameEx! I saved it locally so if it stops working, I'll just upload it somewhere.

Man I'm dying to know if the latest expansion packs to the Star Wars MMORPG "The Old Republic" has taken space flight "off the rails". I beat the game in 2 weeks, fought every boss/elite mob and was max level. There was nothing more to do. I was really pissed, so I quit subscribing. They came out with a few expansions, the latest having more flight sim, but the space stuff that was already included was just rail stuff. The path is predetermined, and all you do is move your mouse cursor around to target and shoot stuff that appears on screen. Pretty lame. SW-TOR is free-to-play now, so I'd be willing to go back to it if the flight stuff is better, if their was a better balance in the PvP stuff, and more content all around.

Could be.. makes you wonder what kind of stuff you were doing when you fell asleep. I've read/heard that whatever you're thinking of when you fall asleep, most of the time thats what you dream about.

I know, it sounds silly. But I just woke up and had a dream about GameEx! In the dream, I was in school. I don't know what class it was, but we had a substitute teacher. He wanted us to "design" a new logo for GameEx, and give an example of what a GameEx Book would look like. Of course, in the dream I was able to convince the teacher that I worked for GameEx already, and was one of the designers for the current "Version 3" logo (I know I'm not in real life, just in your dreams you can be whatever you want). He wanted me to "prove it", since he believed nobody in the class had ever heard of GameEx. So I opened up my back pack, pulled out a laptop (which I don't even own one) and booted it up. I showed him that I had GameEx installed, and much to my enjoyment we spent a while playing games with the other classmates. For the book, he only wanted the first 2 pages, so I presented him with a Table of Contents, and then the first page of the first chapter which was titled "Acquiring and Installing GameEx." The teacher was impressed, and needless to say I got an A+.

That's crazy cool. I wish I could do something like that. I'm not big on flight simulators though. I like space sims like xwing/tie-fighter stuff.

If I were to build a new one, I'd look into getting a server rack with one of those 20-drive bays using the SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) interface. That's a whole new can of worms that I just recently starting reading about. But like I said, I were to build one, that would be my next step.

Only the debug board part is unnecessary. I'm still holding my breath and waiting. My biggest concern right now is finding a solution that won't cause me to lose all my stuff currently in the storage pool. I have 12 drives now, and they all have stuff on them. They don't make an external drive big enough to dump everything to temporarily hold them until the new OS is installed and the new storage/drive pool is configured/formatted.

I missed XP when I upgraded to Vista. XP was solid then, and hardly (if ever) crashed on me. Vista was buggy and still infantile. Once I got some solid Vista compatible drivers for my hardware it got better. I really only used Vista for it's Media Center experience. My 2nd computer that I used for gaming was still XP. Then 7 came around, and all my app developers for Media Center were demanding the latest OS. So I upgraded to 7. 7 was a whole new ball game. It's never crashed one me once, and I love it to death. The fire we had killed my XP machine so now the 7 machine is all I have left. Now there's 8. 8 seems to me like an unnecessary OS, built strictly for the company to make more money. I can see the advantages to having the touchscreen interface, but you can build an OS replacement for Windows 7 if you need that functionality. I'm sure there's a lot of improvements "under the hood" but as far as the requirement for a new OS? I'm happy with 7, like I was with XP. If the next OS brings something major to the table, I might upgrade then. But I'm sick of upgrading to a new OS every couple of years to stay current. My system isn't new (in fact, the newest hardware I have is some RAM that is 3 years old), so why should I keep having to get a new OS for it?

Congrats! Don't let it go to your head.

I'll have to play this game myself to see what we should go for. According to the screen shot, the strength is obvious. But does that just start at 100% and decrease as you die? There is also at the top of the screen a true "score".. in which case adding the 2 levels would give you 36.5. I wonder what Twin Galaxies used? In either case, since you're the first poster, you're obviously in 1st place, so way to go! Updated OP, DB, RSS

Nice post rtkiii! Setting the bar high (presumably). I've never played this. It looks like a 4-bit version of the 8-bit game Contra. Can't wait to give it a try. Updated OP, DB, RSS

Heh I was about to say "HEY! I was the one that saw it's updated and reopening soon!" But then you added me in your little (note). It's all good. I checked there once a month to see if they were back up so I could get the correct settings for our High Score Competition. I think it's a great that it's coming back and hopefully everything will work better for everybody.

Thanks to all who participated in voting for this game. Enjoy it and lets get a good competition this month!

With an outstanding an unmatchable high score, ExedExes has taken over as the king of HighScores this month. His +400k score was so unbelievably high that the closest anybody was able to get to was rtkiii with his score of 61,970. Way to go EE, you really deserved to be our GOTM winner this month! But I submit a challenge to the rest of you! Don't let EE be the champ forever! Surely somebody out there has the power and stamina to dethrone him! Lets continue to see scores submitted.

Don't look at me! I've been way to busy to spend any time playing anything. Even my Canadian Halo buddies are mad I don't play with them as often anymore. Don't know why, probably my depression, I dunno.

[PROJECT] Arcadia - put yourself on the map!!
hansolo77 replied to stigzler's topic in User Projects
Do you want to know the locations of establishments that have pinball machines and arcade cabinets? At first I thought it was just a pinmap for identifying where people live that are members here. I could easily list off about 4 places that have some. A pizza joint around the corner has a Roller Coaster Tycoon pinball machine, there's a Chuck-E-Cheeses further down the road and a Dave and Busters about 2 miles north of where I live. Also, there's always a "mini-arcade" inside movie theaters and bowling alleys. I know of 2 around where I live that have some games. Plus, since you guys started talking about fruit machines, we have 2 casinos locally here that have tons of slot machines; they're kinda arcady. Let me know if you would like me to add them. I haven't been to the Chuck-E-Cheeses or Dave and Busters or the Bowling Alley to see what they have, but I could at least pin the location. I think it would be awesome if somebody close by where I live would come forward that makes cabinets/pincabs. We could become buddies for life and make/sell them! -
LOL! Whats wrong with Sonic? Sorry, I didn't have a Nintendo growing up. My brother's best friend did, and I spent many hours just watching them play without having the ability to do so myself. When the 16-bit generation started, we were supposed to get a Sega Genesis for christmas, but they were sold out, so my brother got it for his birthday (January 9th). Of course, being a kid he spent most of the time telling me it was HIS console, even though when you counted up the games we had I had 12 and he had 2. But anyway, having a Sega in our house instead of a Nintendo at somebody elses meant I had a better opportunity to play it. I liked Sonic a lot. Mostly because I could PLAY it. Mario was always the original though, and you can't beat it. That's why I said it was close to beating it, but never did. Although having emulated Super Mario Sunshine, I must say that Nintendo has kinda gotten away from it's roots (Sunshine sucked.. washing spray paint? yeah thats fun... )

Nah, you can never beat Mario. Although Sonic the Hedgehog did come close... Updated OP, DB, RSS

I dunno, I didn't look at it because of the words "System Builder". I thought that seemed straight forward that it was for BUILDERS.
