  1. This is another classic I played on the Atari 800. Can't wait to give it a go.
  2. And we're off!! Nice first submission score, setting the competition on a high note! Updated OP, DB, RSS (looks like GC already updated everything!)
  3. You're not that far.. only 4th place! Better than me, I haven't even made the top 10 yet! Updated OP, DB, RSS EDIT: Oops, I didn't realize EE had posted an earlier score, and I overwrote the #10 spot... so whoever was in that spot is lost.. can one of you mod guys take a look at your DB and possibly correct that for me? I'm too tired to mess with it tonight.
  4. Nice score! I'm in desparate need to play this some time! Updated OP, DB, RSS

  6. I'm really good at this game, just not the MAME version! I wish I could get my mouse to work with it, I'd love to show everybody what a REAL score looks like.
  7. Way to go Yung-Jedi! You've fought your epic battle for this month and sure deserved to win! GC will be in contact with you shortly via PM with you signature badge of honor! The last thing to do is make it official! May's GOTM is over, and our winner is: Yung-Jedi - 126,520 (link) Congratulations! I'd also like to take this opportunity to remind everybody, that even though the GOTM contest is over, that doesn't mean you can't stop playing this game and submit new scores. In fact, we challenge you to beat Yung-Jedi at his game. The only thing you miss out on is the signature badge. You can still beat his score, take the top position, and move up in our overall Leaderboard (where the real showing off takes place!). So keep playing, and above all, have fun!
  8. The Black Mages were awesome. Anybody who's played FF7 knows these: They really tear the house down around 4:15, and the solo around 5:18 is pretty epic They also did the the FF7:AC soundtrack and it had a better version of the track and solo here: (I actually prefer this one)
  9. Nothing new to say than what has already been said! Missed you, glad you're back, congrats on the grandfather bit! One bit of news.. GameEx Evolution is shortly around the corner... and we have a High Score forum now! Go check it out!
  10. I don't, thats my biggest problem! I'm one of those guys who learned how to do it, then went ape-sh1t crazy and attempted to "have it all". Everything is configured and working too. I'm finding myself spending more time at the moment playing Star Wars: The Old Republic (online MMO). I haven't even turned my X-Box on in like 2 months.
  11. Only 2 more days! Is Yung-Jedi going to take this one?
  12. Do you have your planets messed up? I would get the CHILL at Hoth, but then again, you could be referencing the Carbonite Freeze, so yeah, I guess it would work. Thanks for best wishes guys. For me, I just wish I didn't have to work, but it was a short 6-hour day and I'm home now. About to fire up the grill!
  13. I like that kind of music. Unless it's a really popular song and you can understand the lyrics, I tend to not listen to much metal stuff because there's always somebody just screaming into the mic or something. Instrumental music is awesome. Ever heard of The Black Mages? They're a band created by the guy who wrote all the older Final Fantasy music, and they play remixed metal versions of some of the more famous tracks (mostly the fight music). It's pretty cool.
  14. I just looked in my own folders... I believe the file is called "default.cfg" located inside the /cfg folder.
  15. Or make a backup copy you can swap back into place if it ever happens to get overwritten.. I've noticed with my setup, that if I start the computer without my gamepad plugged in, MAME will default to a control scheme that doesn't use it. When that happens, I have to manually go back through and re-map everything for the gamepad to work. It's such a major hassle, that anymore I just keep it plugged in all the time to avoid it. It's possible something like that happened in your case as well (something got unplugged or something) that caused the MAME settings to default to their "failsafe" controls.
  16. Yeah.... it looks nice, but those backgrounds make me dizzy.. I'd have a hard time playing cause I'd wanna see the backgrounds!
  17. Personally, I've never used the chatroom. I've logged in there a few times but it doesn't seem to be a jumping kind of place.
  18. Well spoken one and all! Congrats on the promotion!
  19. I could probably throw something together to look like Han. I'd really like to join the 501st (http://www.501st.com/). They make their own costumes from scratch and then join up in groups to do things like charity work. Sounds like a lot of fun for a good cause. Could you imagine me, dressed up like stormtrooper, cutting your deli meat for ya?
  20. Our bosses at MY supermarket where I work would have fired us for dressing up.. they only allow it when the corporate headquarters comes up with the idea

    PC Goes Pop!

That sucks dude. I hate it when my computers die. At least your hard drives are ok. To me, thats the most important cause it holds all your data. Luckily if you have to replace everything else, prices are nice and low. You could probably get upgraded for the cost of what you spent on your parts originally. I haven't upgraded in a long time, before the i-cores cames out, so I'm not sure how prices are nowadays. But I know if I were to replace 1:1 what I have, it would probably be really cheap now.
  22. I would venture a guess of no... Gamebase functionality is just an extension of GameEx, much like Steam is. GameEx simply run's a list from GameBase, and actually launches games THROUGH GameBase. I'd love to be proven wrong, but I'm afraid the ability to create a theme for GameBase directly is going to require further work in GameEx's theme engines, and I doubt time will be spent to make that happen with GameEx Evolution shortly around the corner. Again; I hope I'm wrong though!
  23. Intersted in trying it out, thanks for keeping us updated!
