As I said : did you follow the manual to setup pinballX ?

Did you follow the manual to setup pinballx ? Was it now working before you sold the cabinet? Limit information to make something out of it

I see during your log, dat you run fx3 with dmdext as well to mirror your dmd. Could that cause an issue? Don't see any error in your log

[PINCAB] My Virtual Pinball Cabinet build
Mike_da_Spike replied to Mike_da_Spike's topic in Gamer Rigs
It was a bit quiet on the cab site for me, but because of some personal health issues, I wanted to spend some money (life is too short and you need to get the best out of it) This morning I ordered parts for a new PC for the cabinet. All up to date hardware, a mainboard that contains enough external USB devices. Many will say it is overkill, but hey ! I just wanted it (and Mrs DA Spike agreed after I gave he a new laptop ) I expect the parts to be delivered next week : CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 5700X Boxed MB : Gigabyte B550 AORUS PRO V2 GPU : Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3080 Gaming OC 10G (rev. 2.0, LHR) Case: Aerocool CS-1103 Midi Tower CPU cooler : be quiet! Pure Rock 2 mem : Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK32GX4M2D3600C18 Power supply : Corsair RM650x (2021) SSD : Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2TB When this is all in place, I want to look to replace my Samsung 40" TV for a monitor. It's hard to find a decent 40" monitor and know that @scuttersis searching for me as well (for the last couple of years. But think it will be the Acer Nitro XZ396QUP . It is a 38.5" curved monitor Resolution not 4k, but QHD (2560x1440), supports freesync (and not gsync ), but response time of 1 ms and refresh rate of max 170Hz. I will have a lot to do the next weeks/month ! -
I don't know PBX recorder, but there isn't a program that records the real DMD. I'm not sure what DMD you have, but if you use Freezy's DMDdevice.dll ,there is a part in his INI section to capture videos. Set the Video enabled to true and point to a valid path [video] ; if enabled, writes frames to an .avi file enabled = true ; path to folder or .avi file. if folder, gamename.avi is used. path = C:\Pinball\DMDoutput Now every rom that uses the the dmddevice.dll will save an avi file to your directory (based on rom name) If you can manage to do this for all your missing DMD videos, skip the first par of initializing the rom, and make 1 loop. You can grab the avi file, rename it and place it into your real DMD Media folder Another option will be to enable Vpinmame in front end, so the actually rom will be used to display the table (Could take some tie to initiliaze per table) I have a PinDMDv3 , but I create my own MP4's , based on my PinballX wheel, company logo and year. Those videos are created automaticlly and I run the script that will only do the missing videos Videos are all 7 seconds and around 10kb the tool can be downloaded from the download section

For LUT and other lighting stuff, I still stand out of my chair and also to play a bit for testing. But still like to remote in, for adding games etc. In the begin I stand at the cab as well, but causes that my back hurts.
-
Pretty old fashion mate . I need to say as well : i download all from my main pc, and have a share on my nas called 'exhange' I mapped this share on the cabinet as well. Pov settings and if table is working, i check behind my pc (remotly), but check dmd, dof, buttons and lut settings, I will standup and walk 2 inches to check on the cabinet. Lazy ??? No. Just efficiently

Updated documentation and uploaded to download section. Fixed some other small stuff as well Thanks @Draco1962to spend 2 hours of time on documentation

Lol. Glad I vould help. Do you shutdown your cab or hibernate it ?

I use teamviewer, as I can see all my screens and the resolution is exactly how the cabinet will shows it (RDP can set his own resolution and doesn't allign to how I see it on the cabinet). I have Teamviewer host on the cab and only setup for local connections, so no internet connections allowed. Because my TV is 4k, all is small when I quit PinballX. Exiting PinballX, rotates the screen to portrait mode and set the DPI to 100% When managing the cab, I have a startup script that is launched with DBM, that will set my screen to landscape mode and 200% DPI. Launching PinballX set also the cab to portrait mode, but set the DPI to 100% again. Note :Teamviewer causes a delay with visual pinball 10.7 when opening a table (only when using remote connection) Depending on the table it can have a delay up to minutes. But closing my remote session and using the frontend works like a charm There are properly more tools that you can use the manage your cabinet remotely,

How to change the Loading screen when a table starts
Mike_da_Spike replied to Stavros75's topic in General
To use loading videos or liading images, you need to use pinballx as a front end and not retrobat (maybe it works with retrobat as well, but this is the PinballX forum ) You can check the pinballx documentation how you enable loading images or videos and the location of it. Documentation is included in the latest version of pinballx or can be downloaded at the following location See the plugin from scutters for extra informaton to de-randomize the media as well Hope this now make sense to you -
If the directb2s file will not appear(for example your twilight zone), the b2server is properly not initialized correctly in the vp table. Not sure about if that is the case for that specific table, but recently I had stilltables where I needed to modify the vbs script to have a directb2s backglass See for example a very old post https://www.vpforums.org/index.php?showtopic=26012

[Resolved] Text at the bottom of the screen is suddenly missing
Mike_da_Spike replied to SixOfTwelve's topic in General
Well, don't forget Mrs DA Spike as well When she is playing (with or without the grandkids) she can wreck my system as well ! Why using an AHK script to exit emulator ? PinballX takes care of exiting all my systems that I setup on my cab -
No NO No. It is not to force you to DBM. Game List manager is a good tool and Tom did a good job as well. But some options caused me issues in the past and to fix that, we decided to make our own tool and make it available for the community as well.

As @scutterssaid : Databasemanager will check during input the exrension as well, and will remove the previous media file And @Draco1962is right about the affinity about file extensions, for images the apng goes above the png as well. I think this is the list where the top one take precedence Videos: .Mp4 .M4v .F4V .FLV Images: .APNG .PNG .JPG .GIF Audio: .MP3 .WAV .OGG Instruction card .PNG .JPG .SWF

Can you post your pinballx log file where the issue is happening and also post your pinballx.ini ?

Just curious, what was the size of the available disk space on the volume of the tempfolder ? -

@Tom Speirs Any idea ? -
Don't forget @scutters to thank as well. Because of him, I started to work with visual studio (and learned the interface) and when I had the start of Databasemanager he helped with a lot of coding, but also with new ideas (where we also put them on the 'deny' list) and his mental support (for all the frustration we bummed into). Be patience. We are working on that as well. And there is a support thread, where all new features are explained as well.
