  1. I hope it helps others as well. If people use an AMD processor, they probably don't have an extra video card to render (like one of my best friend has)
  2. I found a workaround that reliably restores video playback in PinballX on my system. I’ve tested it multiple times, including after several reboots. While it may not work for everyone, it’s worth trying if you have a similar hardware setup. Prerequisites This workaround only applies if your system includes an additional non‑NVIDIA GPU, such as an onboard Intel graphics adapter. In my setup, all monitors are connected to the NVIDIA GPU, and none are connected to the Intel GPU. 1. Open Display Settings Right‑click on your desktop. Select Display settings. 2. Open the Graphics Settings Scroll down to Related settings. Click Graphics. 3. Add PinballX as a Desktop App Under Custom settings for applications, choose Add desktop app. A File Explorer window will appear. Navigate to your PinballX installation folder and select: PinballX.exe, or PinballXLite.exe (if you use the Lite version), or for GameEx users it maybe works as well Click Add. 4. Change the GPU Preference By default, Windows assigns the 'let Windows decide'. Change this to: GPU preference: Power Saving (Intel® Graphics) Even though my main display is not connected to the Intel GPU (all displays are on the NVIDIA RTX card), PinballX starts showing videos again once this setting is applied. After changing the GPU preference, launch PinballX again. Video playback should now be restored. Optional: Removing the PinballX GPU Entry n older Windows versions, you could simply delete the entry from the Graphics settings panel. Microsoft has removed that option. If you want to remove the custom GPU assignment manually, follow these steps: 1. Open the Registry Editor • Run regedit.exe. 2. Navigate to the Correct Registry Key Go to: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\DirectX\UserGpuPreferences 3. Delete the PinballX Entry • Locate the entry for PinballX.exe or PinballXLite.exe. • Delete that key. Please let us know if this workaround is working for you as well
  3. It's not you. Maybe NVIDIA will fix the driver, or @Tom Speirsneeds to redesign PinballX. My guess is that Tom is using code from the past (DirectShow, DX9, VMR9) to display the videos. And if he needs to change it, it will be a hard time. Am I correct, Tom? So for the time being, leave the old driver on your system.
  4. Hi @OscarSNM, Thanks for using PinballX and DBM. It seems you're launching your tables with a command that can't be found: DOSBox-PinHackV3x. To get an overview of your system, please post your databasemanager.log (where you tried to record the table videos),databasemanager.ini (config) and your PinballX.ini (to see how your setup is configured).
  5. I thought I'd found the silver bullet for my system, but I rebooted my machine and all screens were black again (so no video). Not sure why it worked in the first place.
  6. I’m still using GeForce driver 591.74 but have updated my LAV driver from version 0.77.2 (available on the PinballX website) to 0.81 (Download link). Now the videos are playing again Could someone experiencing issues with the latest GeForce driver try to reproduce the problem, then install the 0.81 driver and see if it resolves it? The link is from github https://github.com/Nevcairiel/LAVFilters/ but it shows the following : I just click on the three dots on the right side (they appear when you hover over them) and click 'Keep'. A second warning will appear, and you’ll need to click on 'Keep Anyway'. I hope this works for other people as well.
  7. I mostly do custom installs, unless I don't have much time. Then I will do an express install. I've already had it for weeks. I will try to test with older drivers
  8. I'm having the same issue. As a test, I removed the NVIDIA driver, and it works, but I need the NVIDIA driver as I use the PC for other things as well. So for now, I won't have videos in the frontend, until this is solved.
  9. should be available again !
  10. Darn ! Your absolutely right. Only the animations are there. If I am at a pc tomorrow I will upload latest version. Good catch!
  11. This wouldn't help, but I just wanted to mention it: Since this summer, I have been using my powerful desktop PC for pinball as well. All was working, but a couple of weeks ago I noticed I no longer had video in the front end. I checked and reinstalled LAV, but no luck. I'm not sure if it's a 6.99 issue or something else. I'm not at my PC to post files, and I'm not sure if it is related to this issue, but I have never had this before.
  12. Sometimes it's good to change to something new. For example, gamemanager.exe from Tom. Or use DBM from Scutters and myself. DBM has a pretty good interface for creating filters and seeing them. You can also use the comments field for adding tags that can be used for filters. The next site is in progress, but you can check the URL to see how to make filters via DBM. : https://databasemanager.duckdns.org/en/Using_DataBaseManager/Advanced_Actions/Creating_Custom_Filters
  13. Yes, correct. You can use one system for Visual Pinball. Use the default .exe for VPX 10.8 tables and the alternate .exe for VP9 tables.
  14. Ha ! Mickey is me ! Didn't see that message yet. Thanks for notifying. I hope this workaround works
  15. Sorry, I don't understand. Is your comment a question or an observation? This thread was originally made to show animated GIFs that were created by people and could be available on the GameEx FTP server. But later, this post contained apps as wheel Packs as well.
  16. Thanks, @Tom Speirs! I’ll test it later, but I’m pretty sure a lot of people will enjoy this feature. Edit: Works like a charm, one happy user here!
  17. You tell me. Convince @Tom Speirs! He's the man ! 😉
  18. Because it can't scroll... It's on the feature request list : https://forums.gameex.com/forums/topic/22259-pinballx-enhancementsfeatures-requests/page/33/#findComment-212499
  19. For me the 43" was 1.5 cm larger, so it won't fit at all. I'll hope it fits for you ! Btw if you want to run CCC , you need a seperate installation with VP 10.7 . VP 10.7 minimum will work as well. 10.8 the function of the controller, and will be fixed when newer version will be released Good luck !. My monitor is powering on automatically when it gets power.
  20. that version brings back the animated gifs again. thanks @Tom Speirs
  21. Attention @Tom Speirs
  22. I use the vpw version, which can be set to CCC as well. For VR, this gives me always a bad focus and even the BVTF (Bring VPX To Front), wil not help. Even outside PinballX See https://virtualpinballspreadsheet.github.io/games?game=vZDUDUii I will check tomorrow if the 'flat' version will work directly for me
  23. It always worked as a gif. I can rename 'em and check again. 😉
  24. I've just become aware that Pinball Wicked has officially launched, and I'm pleased to note that it includes cabinet support, eliminating the need for AHK. The next information was sourced directly from the Steam platform. Cabinet / Multi-Display / Launch Options FAQ Screen Rotation and Multi Display Support The rotation is available via the normal windows display settings - display orientation. Or via command line (see ingame help - command line options). In the steam client game menu - General - Launch options - advanced, e.g. -rotate90 The portrait game main display can get irritated when the Backglass window or DMD window overlap the game main display, and the game main display shouldn't be the same as Backglass or DMD display. In short every screen/window needs its own physical display. The Screen Mode "Fullscreen" is only supported with DirectX 12 when in portrait orientation. Windowed Fullscreen always works fine. The (rotated) game main display must be the windows main display. Cabinet Command Line / Launch Options Open your Steam Library Right click the game's title and select Properties. On the General tab you'll find Launch Options section. Enter the launch options you wish to apply (be sure to separate each code with a space). Close the game's Properties window and launch the game. If you are using an external launcher please start the game via the steam.exe like this: "C:\Program Files\Steam\steam.exe" -applaunch 595960 -rotate 90 -players 2 Screen Rotation Rotate the main display by 90° / to portrait: -rotate 90 Rotate display with index 1 by 270° / to portrait (flipped): -rotate1 270 Rotate display with index 0 by 90° / to portrait: -rotate0 270 Zero based index, does not necessarily match the windows display settings order. Players Players 1-4, e.g.: -Players 3 Style - Pure Action Pure (Popups): -PureAction 0 Action (Characters): -PureAction 1 Clear Window Settings This option will disable all but the main window: -nowindows If your rig doesn't meet the current minimum system requirements If the default settings are too demanding you can activate the Performance+ overall quality with the command line: -OverallQuality=1 Overall Quality Levels Performance+ - for IGPU Performance Medium - better IGPU and budget GPU High Wicked - mid range GPU Ultra Wicked Launch Options The default option (topmost) will start the game with DirectX 12 and fallback to 11 if it is not supported. The default option does not change any previously saved setting. The other launch options provide overrides to start the game in a specific setting, which is useful if the game won't start otherwise or only with extremely low fps. DirectX 11 / 12 The game launches now with DirectX 12 per default. The command line option -dx11 allows to explicitly start with DirectX 11 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ It now also have a cabinet setup in game, which can move the DMD finally to another screen : And his has a Backglass as well : Within PinballX, you can use @joyrider3774 his 'FX 3' launcher You must make sure you have path and startparams set to Steam : [SETTINGS] PATH=C:\Program Files\steam\steam.exe STARTPARAMS=-applaunch 595960 And the buttons like this : [BUTTON_ONE] TEXT=1 Player (Pure) ENABLED=1 PARAM=-Players 1 -PureAction 0 [BUTTON_TWO] TEXT=2 Players (Pure) ENABLED=1 PARAM=-Players 2 -PureAction 0 [BUTTON_THREE] TEXT=3 Players (Pure) ENABLED=1 PARAM=-Players 3 -PureAction 0 [BUTTON_FOUR] TEXT=4 Players (Pure) ENABLED=1 PARAM=-Players 4 -PureAction 0 [BUTTON_FIVE] TEXT=1 Player (Action) ENABLED=1 PARAM=-Players 1 -PureAction 1 [BUTTON_SIX] TEXT=2 Players (Action) ENABLED=1 PARAM=-Players 2 -PureAction 1 [BUTTON_SEVEN] TEXT=3 Players (Action) ENABLED=1 PARAM=-Players 3 -PureAction 1 [BUTTON_EIGHT] TEXT=4 Players (Action) ENABLED=1 PARAM=-Players 4 -PureAction 1 And within PinballX you can settup to this launcher, like this : Please note that I renamed the launcher .exe file and placed it in a different path, using the 64-bit version. I’m not sure if the 32-bit version requires a separate process to monitor. You can also have a direct launch (without the launcher) from Pinball X: So for example if you always want to launch a 2 player action game : For those with a realDMD, the best approach is to set the Pinball Wicked DMD off-screen and use Freezy’s DMDext to mirror the content via a startup batch file. Be sure to set the position as X-start, Y-start, X-size, and Y-size. In my case, I moved the DMD to a non-playfield area (a working desktop, not part of the cabinet). With all of this, Pinball Wicked will launch with the correct user and game type settings. Once in the menu, just press start to begin the game. I hope it all makes sense. dmdext.exe mirror --source=screen --position=5 3 459 118 --no-virtual -d pindmdv3
