  1. Good luck and welcome to the forums! If you hit a snag then let us know.
  2. Thank you for that info rockyrocket!
  3. The the following in the Keys To Send please: {F5} This should be the correct way of sending F5. If just sending "F5" them I'm sure it's actually sending the letter "F" and the number "5". Sorry. I should have been more clear. As a note though, there's a link in the help section of that setting that will link you to the SendKeys Class which lists all the correct codes.
  4. Thanks for responding Chesko! I am an autoit scriptor and am willing to help in anyway I can. I'm just not much for using someone elses code and adding to it. So I'll be willing to help you but not willing to take the project over. It's one of those things where I like to start from scratch. LOL. I was very impressed with the project itself however. I never did get a chance to look at your code. Thanks for offering to upload again for those users that are interested in the project.
  5. I'll look more into this when I get to my rig but for now in that emulator setup, there's a setting called keys to send. Simply enter in F5. May also have to play with the timing using the wait before keys as well.
  6. There's times when your config can be overwritten. Usually not a very common thing but it has been known to happen which is why Tom made it so that a backup is made for this very instance. Here is the first post that came to mind when I responded to this type of question. Simply copy that file to the gameex.ini and your settings should be restored. For security reasons, please backup your files before making the change just in case. Hope this helps.
  7. Also already answered this to you previously in this very thread. Here ya go!
  8. Am glad you got it sorted out. As to your question before about 7zip opening rar files, yes it can be done. However, Tom never coded it to use the rar format. I remember it being requested before but was never implemented. But as I mentioned before, rar is a format not generally used in emulation.
  9. Very true!
  10. Nice save! NOT!
  11. Happy New Year to all GameEx Users and friends! I hope you all have a wonderful and safe night. Looking forward to what the New Year brings to GameEx. Thanks Tom, for all you do!
  12. I don't believe rar is a supported file type. It's not a compression format usually used by emulators which is why zip and 7zip files are supported.
  13. In what way are you sorting? Perhaps there's a bug or something. Please give details so that I may troubleshoot. As far as the backup file, it's located in the CONFIG directory of your GameEx install. The file is called GameEx.UpradeBackup.ini. But as previously mentioned, it's a backup file made when an update is performed. You can just rename that file to the GameEx.ini to restore some settings before backups. May not be useful in your case unless you've recently upgraded. I've never seen this issue before so we need to figure out the cause.
  14. Hmmmm. That's a new one on me. I would think maybe all the settings didn't get sorted correctly so they are messing up your lists. At this point I wouldn't try sorting again since the settings might not be correct. If it's just that emulator then you can always just verify the settings (path to roms, filters, and any other settings). There's a back up of your config as well that can be restored if all else fails. This backup is generated upon updates.
  15. Thanks for the contribution! For now should put in the database thread so it doesn't get lost and also submit for the next database release. Posting now will give users a head start.
  16. Netbooks is what I got from the title as well. LOL.
  17. Happy Birthday! Hope you have a great one! Enjoy! Middle aged. LOL. All of us are a bunch of old farts.
  18. The emulator itself requires them to be numbered which is why maybe they won't load. All the gui's that are out there, that's what they do basically. Convert the rom name to the respected number. The easiest method is to setup and use GameEx's integration to setup as GameEx does this for you in code. If wanting to setup as a stand alone emulator, then there are different ways to approach this but aren't as easy. You can use a map file to convert the name. You can also use .bat files that I've seen around. Also another approach would be to use the mame mapping feature and map those games using the tool. I haven't tried that myself but it's a good way to go as well. I would personally take the easy way out and use the first suggestion.
  19. Thanks for the info. I'll pass it on to Tom.
  20. To answer this question, I believe Tempest created a loader for such a thing. It can be found in the user submissions section and to make it even easier, here it is. I personally have never tested this but it seems like what you're looking for.
  21. Merry Christmas GameEx Community! We hope you have a great one.
  22. Thanks for the news Tom!
  23. Probably to do with the move. Now that it's moved, Tom can now make the changes or updates to the page.
  24. Well that wasn't so bad.
