By default, MAME looks for these files in the cfg directory of your MAME install. They can sit anywhere you wish but then must be called by either the command-line or the mame.ini file to take affect if not in the default location.
I also do not use a cab. I have a cab that i purchased and it was never used. A month later I put in storage. I barely started to setup my htpc. So have been into emulation for many years now and have never really started utilizing it till recently. I run GameEx basically to troubleshoot for all GameEx users. LOL. How I know what I know is beyond me. LOL.
According to the net, it's release date was October 12, 2010. Just odd that it's not listed on Nintendo's website. Not sure if it's due to licensing or what but I have seen it for sale at places.
Welcome to the forums! Do you have the games for those systems? GameEx does NOT include any roms with it's install. If you installed the DEMO then it's to see how things navigate and show's off some features but again, roms are not included.
It's not used as much as I would personally like to see. I think having it is a great idea as it can eliminate a lot of non topic posts and also so we can all chat and in real time. But the only time I've personally seen someone in there is when I asked someone to meet me there. Perhaps it needs some recognition so that users know it's there.
Thanks for the report Draco1962! Some upgrades were applied yesterday to the forums and obviously the Chat was affected. Will notify Tom so we can get it fixed.
Thanks for the news Circo! May also wanna add [NEWS] to the title so that it stands out. Looking forward to the new set. Thanks for all your hard work!
