  1. Can you try without using Ultramon and also at a standard windows resolution. (To help me troubleshoot).
  2. The problem should be fixed in the next release, and GameEx does detect the escape key for the emulator. The issue is that the mouse positions are different if using a low resolution. It does use an AutoIt script, and I used I think your scripts as a starting point. Thanks so much for that.
  3. H Matty, there's no way to transfer he settings as far a I know, but I can help you get the get full screen. Under advanced MAME options in the config. For the first setting add a space and then add -ddraw -hwstretch -effect sharp
  4. Its your V2 theme, themes have changed in the latest version. Load it into the theme editor and modify it and save it.
  5. I think I'll be able to get it pick the right game, but are you getting the video errors two? Maybe it doesn't like ArcadeVGA cards? Sorry, don't know what S.O.L. means, only figured out LOL in 2001
  6. I think the problem is when the windows desktop is running at a resolution below 800 X 600. Would that be true in your case? I think the emulator is also very picky about graphics cards and version of windows. The emulator is only an alpha release. It's not going to work for everyone.
  7. Hey, I know what this is I forgot, but I set the antialiasing to high quality when creating the fonts for this release. Thought it would be an improvement I still cant really duplicate it here, so could you send me a screenshot, and let me know which resolution and font name and sizing options your using? Cheers.
  8. Yeah since a long time ago, even before the theme editor.
  9. Aha the old reboot PC solution. I'm guessing windows or zinc.exe became unstable and the system needed a reboot. Please let me know if it happens again though.
  10. Are you actually using Zinc? No code has changed where its stalling for you as far as I know. Check your zinc setting and post your log. Thanks.
  11. Hi, I can't reproduce either of these problems. The font colouring has always done that as far as I know, and the focus.wav seems to be fine to me. its always been set to a light blue by default, which has an alpha, and when you apply the outline fonts setting it changes to grey because of the alpha. Is this a new issue? Could you try reexplaining the outline issue? Do you actually have an outline colour set in GameEx or is it not used for your theme? Ie using the default? Which as I said appears to work as it always has. What resolution are you running GameEx at and are you using a V2 theme? EDIT: The fonts don't do true anti aliasing, they just use a lighter blue background, as I said I dont think this a new issue, it's always done that. You can turn off the Antia Aliasing if its bugging you, or if you set a font colour it automatically turns it off.

    Mapping keys

Hi Yes, unfortunatly GameEx is designed for modern hardware and a 1GHZ 256mb is not modern hardware . Could you explain how or what exactly is the resource problem on your PC? Also the latest version runs quite a bit quicker. So try that. The shifted keys just means this key is used in conjuction with a directional key. IE its designed to be held down with a diretional key. I can't think of another way to explain it.
  13. As from Today in the latest version in the theme editor. Go grab it.
  14. 19th April 2006 - GameEx 5.92 First of all I'd like to give a huge thanks to Headkaze, for all his help on this release and for all his work on the theme editor. We worked together a lot the passed couple of weeks and he contributed massively. There's been too many fixes too mention, including minor cosmetic fixes, and attract mode runs smoother. I won't list them all here and I'll just focus on the enhancements and new features. GameEx has been optimized a fair bit again, and this version runs significantly faster. I've also shaved a bit of the EXE image size. The biggest new feature in this release is support for vertical rotated displays. There's a few restrictions on the resolutions you can use with this, but turning on this one setting will also automatically configure MAME for vertical games only, and also automatically configure ArcadeVGA for vertical resolutions when running MAME. There is a screenshot here The other big thing is that this release includes HeadKaze's Theme Editor version 1.51 which now allows the image display to be positioned separately from the menus in GameEx, and includes various other fixes and updates. There is still some functionality to implement in GameEx for the editor, but there should not be any outstanding issues, and it is now possible to change the font colour. There's a new setting to Show Buttons, allowing complete removal of both the Home and Exit buttons. A new setting to not display the title text. There's a new GameEx logo. Again thanks Headkaze. A new feature for the Attract Mode/Screensaver. There's the ability to play a sound file when exiting attract mode after its been running for over 6 minutes. The idea is to make it fun when the cabs been running a while, and someone walks up to use it. Much like how GameEx can dynamically use Zinc to launch MAME games based on PSX hardware it can now do the same and has support for Model 2 hardware and the Model 2 emulator. Most of the work for this is done in the background, and there's only two settings to set to get this up and running. Note after setting it up you'll need to update the list again.
  15. Yeah I understand now. Ill fix it soon.
  16. If you did happen to respond please post here.

    Mapping keys

Hi, I can't help with the weather as that's an application by someone else on the web. It's also not possible to change the escape sequence for the keyboard. Although you can also use keys 2 and 6 pressed together. The shifted keys work in combination with the direction keys. So Shift 1 and up pages up, and Shift2/Volume and down turn the volume down. Its not possible to have a single key assigned for these functions as I said they work in conjuction with the directional keys. If you wanted to map to shift - v, youd need to make the shift key to "Shift" and the up key to "V", but of course then V would always function as up. If you want to use GameEx you may be better buying an IPAC or XAarcade controller rather than a custom keyboard hack. Also Ill think yourll find not many front ends have a cutom escape key. GameEx is a little special in itself in that it can detect Escape and close an emulators process.
  20. It shouldn't be more than a week.
  21. Set the correct MAME rom path.
  22. I don't know which SMTP server but the email address is: [email protected]
  23. There is a default N64 config included with GameEx, just use it. If you've overwritten it then just use the import feature for an emulator in the config.
  24. And b6gm6n feel free to rejoin if you want to, your not banned or anything.
