  1. Look into using an Advanced emulator config and setting this game up as an emulator. Tell it to monitor additional processes.
  2. Ive had a thought about what the frame skipping could be down to. Although it's a long shot. What sort of PC do you have in your cabinet? By default GameEx maxes out all CPU's to produce fluid animations even on displays running up to 120hz Some PC's especially cheap laptops and PC's with very fast memory/FSB, overheat, and when they overheat the CPU speed drops considerably. My own laptop does this, even when running MAME alone with the tripple buffer and vsync turned on. Try setting the sleep setting under tweaks performance to 30, and also tell GameEx not to wait for VSYNC, as well as checking the PC physically to see if its overheating.
  3. Mapkeys=yes should do it, no? You could use an advanced emulator config. The Project64 one could be modified to work for this, as it sends Alt-F4. If winuae launches additional processes yourll need to specifiy them too.
  4. This should be in another thread. Generally something completly unrelated should be a new topic. The page full of writing your referring to is the log, and actually there for a reason, to tell me and you where GameEx failed. Without this, much like telling a doctor "Im ill, cure me" means its impossible to know what's wrong. Although its most likely GameEx is starting before a required service/driver or app.
  5. People ask a lot about this, but GameEx already has this functionality via "Service Mode" and has done for some time. The idea is you basically set all the lock down options such as disable escape, hide create snaps and disable update list. Then enter service mode and it enables them. Its on the docs page. Maybe its not working right or something? Cheers. Tom.
  6. Im really not sure why your having all these issues. Its normally like a 5 minute to setup GameEx with MAME. I am little confused though exactly what your issues are. Im a technical guy so just the facts would help Does MAME run ok from the command line outside of GameEx? You can test this by selecting the Run Last Game Option in the Windows GameEX program group. From what I can tell you have two issues, but am a little unsure. 1. The sound is the wrong volume. Have you tried pressing Tab and the other ketys etc while MAME is actually running a game to set the volume? 2. The frameskipping. Is it occuring now with the cmd line version, or you also had this with MAME32 when running GameEx? Have you checked to see if you have MAME.ini or MAME32.ini file which is setting the options for MAME? You may want to try just backing these up and deleting them to start from scratch. You also may have settings stored for every single MAME game that are wrong. These are in the MAME\ini folder. Sounds like you may be better just download a new version of MAME to a completely seperate directory, turning on the ArcadeVGA settings in GameEx and start there. Rick may have configured something for you thats specifically designed for another front end, I expect GameLauncher. Check it out and as I said try running the last game outside of GameEx to see if its a GameEx issue or not. By the sound of it its not really a GameEx issues just you MAME config is wrong. Although of course Ill help. I dont know why you feel you have to give up so soon though, seems to me Ive only just started trying to help. Of course use another front end if you like though. Thanks, Tom
  7. If youve already emailed me about beta testing GameEx TV, I should have it nicely filed in my email. If youve emailed me about something else, I probably dont, as I often forget peoples real names and emails compared to there forum ids.
  8. Yes, you rock Headkaze I think you should have access to create stickys, so if you wanted to create a sticky, such as usefull apps or tools\accesseries or something feel free to go ahead. My concern as Ive said to you personally is your useful apps will get buried in the forum.
  9. No, no time yet.
  10. I think this is a windows 98 specific issue, it handles launching windows programs a little differently then 2000 or XP. You need to add "START / Wait" to the beginning of the command line, to tell the launched emulator not to return to GameEx until its closed. I dont have time to explain how to use it right now as I only have limited access in a cafe, but hopefully headkaze or someone can help. If you type start /? at the command prompt it should say the options, but bear in mind if you have long paths with spaces ther'll need to be in quotes, and the start command enterprets quotes as the title for the command window. At least this points you in the right direction. Cheers.
  11. As has been said this means GameEx cannot connect to the station, so its normally an internet\connection issue. It should have nothing to do with Winamp. Do you have a firewall or something blocking GameEx, or are you using a proxy server. What type of internet connection do you have. I know some of the default stations dont work anymore, but it seems other people are reporting this issue too. Please post your log after a GameEx session where this happens.

    Games

Breaking Forum rules here. All posts deleted and thread closed. Sorry.
  13. It is possible to get all games to show up in GameEx. If your really desperate just add the Rom Names to the "always show these roms" setting.
  14. In the Arcades, Dragons Lair, Space Ace (could complete both on one coin at the age of 10), Dig Dug and Mr Do got most of my pocket money. Later Smash TV took a lot of my money. Paradroid on the C64 used to keep me awake at night, and later Super Mario Bros on the NES was just so much fun when it first came out.

    Jukebox

OK, sounds like something I need to fix in the code then (ie bug). Probably be fixed for next release (in about a week). Cheers.
  16. All, As it says in the thread, you need to be a registered user, meet the hardware and software requirements, and ensure you EMAIL me if you want to be a Beta Tester. Thanks, Tom
  17. I have no idea what wally is going on about. Seems to just be tripe what he said. Sorry Wally if you genuinly believe what you said is helping. There should be some instructions on the GameEx site on the docs page. You might have to scroll down. If you have an lcd display on your PC, you may like it, but if you have an lcd display you may as well use it. So check it out. After reading the docs page post back if you need more help. Thanks Tom (GameEx author)
  18. No, not at the moment.

    Jukebox

Have you got the Jukebox set to Media Player mode (rather than tags)? What happens when you go into the Jukebox and select that playlist, does it play it?
  20. I dont think its your system, i think its something I need to fix in GameEx. Ill check it shortly, but most likely be fixed in next release. Thanks, Tom
  21. Theres known issues with Windows 98 when using custom themes (which your using here) and higher resolutions. Unfortunatly its just not up to the job.
  22. Yes, please email me explaining exactly what issues your having.
  23. Is this a recent thing? What version of GameEx are you running? Reason I ask is on Tuesday I released 5.85 which changes the timing of when MCE is closed down. Let me know. It may just mean though that your ini may have duplicate settings if you tend to do manual edits of it rather than use the config app. To find out open Gameex.ini in notepad and do a search for MediaCenterMode, then do a search again to make sure it's not duplicated. It should really be set to =2 for reliable use in all cases. Also check for the theme your using, and that the theme.ini does not contain the mediacentermode setting.
  24. It's fixed in 5.87 which is now available. http://gameex.net
  25. It's not been removed, it's just not visible when you have selected a database for an emulator config.
