  1. It sounds like you just need to run GameEx at a different resolution. Under Display settings try setting it to 640 X480 or 640X288
  2. Hi Ricci, I don't know if it works, but I'd like to know. Thanks. Tom.
  3. Thanks folks. As I've said before comments like that make it all worth while And Herbiman, as a kid I had to learn to make a pound go a very long way too, and my parents where dragged around more arcades than having hot dinners!
  4. This should deffinitly be fixed in 6.18 now available.
  5. Can you post or send me the ini (after this happens). Thanks. Note to Kanal and all, the majority of users never get problems when upgrading.
  6. Q: How do I upgrade my version of GameEx, and not mess up my settings? A: If you are upgrading GameEx from an earlier version, you don't need to uninstall first, and your settings shouldn't be lost. Although make sure you backup any media files you have replaced with your own.. http://tomspeirs.com/gameEx/docs.htm
  7. No, its not possible.
  8. It should be both the shifted buttons pressed together.
  9. Sorry about this, the forum is so incredibly busy at the moment I am going to have to ask that newbies all stay a little more on topic if possible for now, but I'm deffinitly not trying to scare you off Thanks, Tom
  10. Yep feature requests, but an option to turn it off is enough for me to be happy with.
  11. In terms of GamEx yourll get nothing extra as gameex was developed for .net 1.1 and only runs on 1.1 Only install .net 2.0 if you have an application that needs it, and GameEx doesnt.
  12. You could go into "News" and Select the "GameEx News" feed.
  13. 24th May, 2006 - GameEx 6.17 GameEx now features 7-ZIP GoodMerge support! Fixes issues with Most Played Fixes Emulator game information page sometimes not showing information from database when setting to remove brackets not used. Added additional 3 emulators slots in the configuration application Should hopefully fix auto update loop because of caching
  14. Export the emulator config and post it. But I think the issue might be that you the "Working Path" set incorrectly.
  15. Its: [TEXT] PlaystationSart= Playstationlist= Its in GameEx.ini but seems it missing from the langauge files. Fixed now though. I appreciate having you back Smiff. You do help me make a better product. Thanks. EDIT: Actually it in the launguage files, I had a typo on my search. Should be working. Maybe your going barmey!? I checked the code too looked fine. Can't see any typos reading the inis or anything. Tom
  16. Very cool. Thanks a lot. That's actually really useful to me too. Boy, your a wealth of information you
  17. [it was me]
  18. If you send me your theme Ill try and fix the crash.
  19. It was reported a while back, and I saw it when I underclock my system a few days back. I don't know why your seeing the desktop, the screensaver works no different than how launching MAME games does now. You should see a black background which is hideos.exe. Maybe this process got closed. I assume you tried rebooting, and tried running the screenaver straight away? Still an issue? You may see windows maximizing, restoring but you deffinitly sould not see the desktop. It may be your graphics card showing artifacts of previous video memory. I am almost certain its not affecting everyone.
  20. It shouldnt be showing the desktop. Hideos.exe should be in the background. No I didnt mess up. The screensaver now minimizes GameEx to free up resources. On slower systems it caused frame skipping.

Can you try the patch above.
  23. Yes, yourll get a big improvement by changing these two settings. Turn off Verify Roms. Make sure MAMEInfo.dat setting is blank. Your' lose recommended games, and unless you've verified your roms in a rom tool, a few games may be listed that won't run.
