  1. This is fixed. Will be in next release.
  2. I'll take a look. Can you please tell me what resolutions are running when the alpha themes crash.
  3. Sounds like maybe somehow windows no more thinks these folders are system folders. Did you move a HDD, or reinstall the os. One way to fix would just be to move your media folders outside the root of the drive. $recycled and voulme.. should only exist in the root.
  4. Still seems to work fine for me. Tested with 5.3.2. Can you post a screenie of your smartie config?
  5. Hi, I did look at this the first time you posted this, everything looked ok to me at 1080i. It looks like it may be the font using, although I thought I tested a few. Maybe try using the default font - Trubucchet MS and checking the font size is normal.
  6. Looks like a DOS attack, or it could be something not so scary such as some kind of search bot or a grabber. Seems to be calmer now though.
  7. Cupid is working on a plugin for Ultrastick which should hopefully make it easy for folks to use. It is possible without the plugin and GameEx supports controls that switch modes. Hopefully the plugin will be released soon, but below is a top level overview of how to do it the hard way. in the GameEx config look at the run on launch setting under Advancde MAME Settings. Note the [CONTROL] and the included controlmap.csv file. Iâ??m just pasting in the help text here, so itâ??s a bit messy: Shell the following command before launching a MAME or Zinc game.# And command to run after the game has exited. Leave blank to do nothing.## For ShellBeforeLaunch -# The following square bracketted setting can be used in the command line# [ORESX] [ORESY] Original game X and y Resolution# [ARESX] [ARESY] Calculated ArcadeVGA game X and y Resolution# [GAME] The running MAME games name as displayed in the gameex games list# [ROM] The MAME ROM NAME# [CONTROL] The control mode number as matched in controls.ini by# controlmap.csv## EXAMPLE: ShellBeforeLaunch = c:\switchres.bat [ARESX] [ARESY]# EXAMPLE 2: ShellBeforeLaunch = C:\SwithControl.bat [CONTROL]
  8. To get it back up and running again, delete C:/program files/gameex/config/gameex.ini then reinstall
  9. Not being funny or anything, but Loadman and anyone else on the Mala team, thanks for helping out HK, and if you want a free GameEx license you are most welcome to it. Just drop me an email. EDIT: Silver too. Thanks, Tom
  10. I have looked at this and cant see anything. This issue has come up in the post prior to this version, and GameEx does nothing like create wireless signals or anything crazy like that. If you search the forum yourll see its not a new issue. I am sorry I cant help more, but I can tell you these kind of issues are a lot less prevelant than they were. Basically Windows (not GameEx) thinks theres a key pressed. Im not sure what virtual key code 4 is, it may be something weird like F-Lock, I dont know. Maybe MAME is turning on LEDs or something similar perhaps? Tom.
  11. It does work with 2.0 on its own, but just realised its because your using an old install that been upgraded over time. To fix go into the gameex folder and delete all files thae have the extensions *.exe.config. That will do it. Tom
  12. Do you mean when it does happen, it happens immediatly when GameEx launches? What res are you running gameex at, and what res do you have the desktop at, and how are you launching gameex. Is the Desktop or GameEx running in 16 bit colour at all or switching to and from, that would deffinitly cause this issue. If you run GameEx in 32 bit colour (without this issue) exit and the only change you make is switth to 16 bit colour, it would do this, im sure. Ill fix the problem, but I think that sums it up
  13. Im not entirely convinced its related to this version of GameEx. Can you try and give me a much better idea of exactly when this problem kicks in. ie return from certain emulator, background change etc? Have you changed your avga drivers or made any other system changes? Have you added a new emu that you were not using before?
  14. Can you get the error for me please? Screen dump, log, whatever it is. Thanks. Tom.
  15. GameEx should install fine is 1.1 is not installed and 2.0 is. Not sure whats going on with that, maybe thats a bug or your using an old version. Theres no real advantage to running 2.0 at this stage, although in a month or so GameEx is going to need it as Im upgrading it to it. The main thing is it is this known fix as far as I am aware to this issue. So no .net 1.1 installed at at all. .net 2.0 installed. No need to reinstall GameEx.
  16. Thanks for reporting Deadly. I do really like to put things like this to bed, but I dont think this is a 7.09 issue, as 7.09 was actually a more optimized version of GameEx using less resources and memory etc. Maybe it was just the trigger for the page file? Unfortunatly I dont play games nearly enough with GameEx to notice stuff like this. When i test they all seem fine to me. I am curious is the glitchiness something that disapears after playing the game for a few minutes because :- There was also another similar post to this and the fix was to turn off the Bypass Disclaimer setting in GameEx. Did you try that?
  17. Im pretty sure the game list wont update with that version of MAME, you need a version of MAME that supports the XML output of the MAME info list, which was .6 something.
  18. Hi, thats actually incorrect what lp says. You should uninstall .net 1.1 completely and not reinstall and install 2.0. That is the known fix as far as I know.
  19. Hello, Happy New Year! This is because of new ATI drivers. It was reported a couple of weeks back. The issue is with the actual latest ATI drivers. Hopefully they will fix it soon. In the meantime the previous versions of drivers work. Thanks. Tom.
  20. Im not too sure, but ill check it out when I can with those versions. Its possible its something I broke in the latest version of GameEx (got a feeling) (are you using the latest version of GX?). If it is ill fix it for the next release.
  21. Obviously this has been thought of before, but my feeling is that its fine foe mce\vista with a few album covers or few videos, but for a 3000 strong game list, it aint gonna be any fun using it after the affect of the bling has worn off.
  22. Yeah, its already planned. Yourll be able to add a live banner image on forum signatures and such too. Not too sure about the privacy, but this will make a way to post on webspace for registered users. I just need to work out the details.
  23. Also your log, so we can see if its a particular emulator. When I said exactly I was referring to that not .net framework install, but that its probably an emulator messing up and needing a lot more details. As for the black screen is this hideos.exe perhaps? Have you tried ALT-F4 on it_ Is GameEx.exe still running? What is the .net error? Really need much more info.
  24. Exactly.
  25. All, The FAQ pinned topic in the forum is now open if anyone wanted to post suggestions for adding new ones. This should obviously be in there and ill add it, but feel free to help me out Cheers.
