  1. 10th February, 2007 - GameEx 7.57 For all you theme creators out there, custom layouts are now implemented for emulators. Sorry it took me a while to do this. Have fun, lets see what you can do! Should fix any outstanding issues with updating the MAME list Snap images/ICONS are now supported for custom MAME lists Includes Ben's LCD Plugin 1.68.Beta. Read more about it on the forums. Minor updates to the setup wizard and theme editor. Thanks again to Ben Baker for his continued hard work and support
  2. I tested at 720X576 with the latest version and it works fine for me. So not sure if the resolution is purely the exact issue. Can you try with the other setting changes I suggested?
  3. OK, I was just trying to pinpoint where the problem was, so I can try and fix it. Ill setup that resolution on my system so I can test.
  4. OK, I think I found the problem. Will be fixed in next release.
  5. Hi, could you try changing the following settings and let me know if any of them fix things. Resolution 800 X 600. No 3d transitions. Turn on mouse. Set fonts to Trebuchet MS. Thanks. Tom.
  6. I'm not sure what this could be at the moment. What exactly displays in the Plug In Manager?
  7. Hi, can you let me know if this problem is still happening in the latest version
  8. I think your system may be too underpowered for GameEx. It does not meet the minimum requirements. You may be better with MAMEWAH, gamelauncher or a nottso graphic extensive front end. Other than upgrade your system and OS things to try are as follows. 1. Get the latest version. 2. Turn on 16-Bit Colour. 3. Turn off advanced graphics. 4. Run at a lower resolution.
  9. Post your log.
  10. hmm, what would be a cool thing to do is right a small app that configures XP for pros like us. I probably tweak my installs similar to you. Although I also turn off the GUI. The issue with XP search though is its still way too slow though, even when the indexing service is running, and you can't tell it not to scan archives. That can be a real pain if your searching a drive or folder that contatins roms. There's loads of search software out there and I've heard google desktop is pretty good. I actually bought myself a new PC upgrade to run Vista as my main work horse. Im owning up now. Although I'm seriously considering putting XP on it, and just waiting a while.... In regards to my HTPC: I see NFORCE4 drivers are available now. Still no Creative X-FI though.
  11. Assuming your actually running the latest version of GameEx, you should have a manual path setting for MAME and Emulator configs.
  12. Try uninstalling .net framework 1.1
  13. This is a nice tweaks and tips site. http://www.tweakvista.eu/
  14. I'm in a similar situation a lot off stuff I use dont work on it, so Im having to use an (again very stable) XP Pro installation, while I do things such as hack a copy of netmeeting on there, sound drivers, and try and get a working CISCO Vpn Client. So your not getting the pretty but pointless window zooms? I agree it will get better, and will be good in the future, but for now, for getting work done, I just cant use it..... yet....
  15. 350 bucks for a working search feature.....
  16. Can you detail what happened prior to that such as shutdown, restart etc. Does this happen directly after a list update or when returning to GameEx? Are you saying its just an issue with the custom MAME lists, or more than that? You dont have MAME32 and the lists open at the same time or anything silly like that?
  17. I don't know what caused this. It would have been interesting to know if a reboot fixed it. The only time I've noticed issues (that have not been fixed) is when a file is locked or open when trying to update the list.
  18. I've got not problems, but bumping feature requests does tick me off a little, since many of the folks that bump requests have had previous requests done for them. No worries though, all is good.
  19. It should say "such as" GeForce3 at least that's what I meant . I honestly dont know what cards require them. I'm pretty sure thats the issue the though.
  20. Actually, no, thats me for working with you guys too much
  21. Hi, no problem at all and you don't have to give back, but the best way to help is probably to help noobs on the forum, and any contributions such as language translations are always elcome.
  22. Yes, you still need the older NVidia drivers on older cards. I thought I mentioned this in the FAQ and performance thread. I did provodie a direct download to the older drivers too the other day, as NVidia hid them a little on there site. Basically use the older drivers as it suggests. I also read that the newer drivers dont in fact include updated drivers for the older cards, they basically use an older version slightly after the bug was introduced by them.
  23. 4th February, 2007 - GameEx 7.55 Fixes catver.ini Fixes multiple MAME rom paths There is also an offline install for the game manual viewer on the download page
  24. Sorry, my bad, will be fixed in next release. Today.
