  1. I would still choose it over Linux. I wouldn't say its a step backward, if you spend a day configuring it to remove all the (treat my like an idiot stuff) its probably better. But certainly not value for money considering Microsoft have cut possible piracy dead.
  2. Seriously though it seems to me its just a big spin, bells and whistles marketing exercise. Although its probably a great revolution if your retarded and just bought your first computer. To me it just slows me down... A lot... Edit: The Aero interface although it serves no productivity purpose is actually quite theraputic though, deffinitly chills you out a bit. FFDSHOW works with it. MAME seems to work fine. Still a few minor glitches with GameEx to sort out, HTML apps arnt working right, and I've not got round to checking out the multimedia stuff yet.
  3. I installed it yesterday, and spent the whole time since getting GameEx to work with it, other than that useless pile of crap to me
  4. 3rd February, 2007 - GameEx 7.53 Fixes and compatibility updates for Windows Vista and 64 bit versions of Windows Should now run out the box on Vista The Setup and applications have been digitally signed. Ben Baker's Setup Wizard 1.74 Fixes picture and slideshow transitions with latest ATI video drivers and on Vista. Asta La Vista.
  5. Yes, just about to publish, but you also need to delete all fiels ending in .exe.config from the gameex folder.
  6. No, but it probably should, I'll make it look for a png with the folder name in next version.
  7. Yeah Im heading there There really is next to no difference between that version and 7.52. That version is basically 7.5199 if you get my meaning. I think maybe you just had a one off problem there, probably just needed a reboot.
  8. Generally to get help here, you need to provide a lot more detail. Read the forum rules and guidelines, and also read the FAQ. Then come back.
  9. Im in a similar situation, I need nvidia nforce4 and creative x-fi drivers that are not just Beta. My advice, just go out and buy a new mouse, and if you cant find drivers on google you deffinitly aint gonna find them here, but I dont mind the post as your a regular
  10. Sorry, not sure Im with you there. 7.50 was only released this week. What is my edited 7.51?
  11. In addition, you should be using the default SlikStick control mappings, as is out the box. If youve remapped them to standard MAME controls, then you should not be specifying GameEx or MAME to use Slikstick settings.
  12. If its still not working try a fresh install of MAME.
  13. The command line should look like this without the quotes: "-triplebuffer -nowindow -joy -ctrlr slikstik"
  14. I'm pretty sure this is because of the theme your using (Soul Calibur). This error normally happens when it cannot load video backgrounds. Normally because codecs are not installed.
  15. In GameEx advanced configuration, go to advanced MAME settings and add the following (inside the quotes with the leading space) to the the end of the CMD Line options " -ctrlr slikstik"
  16. 1st February, 2007 - GameEx 7.52 LCD/LED Plugin 1.5 Beta Ability to have custom MAME lists in MAME32 ini format Ability to import MAME32 Favorites.ini Fixes .net framework error at startup Should fix install exception if your GameEx install is old Updated MAME support files Fixes issues when using latest versions of catver.ini
  17. Did you delete ALL the *.exe.config files?
  18. Read the news on the gameex website and look at the note at the bottom for the release.
  19. Yes will do, I've just added them to the setup wizard too.
  20. Thanks. Can you confirm the attached GameEx.exe here works without any problems? GameEx.zip
  21. Can you do what I suggested above. ie reomve .net 2.0, reboot and install from above link. If that does not work. Please replace GameEx.exe with attached one, and post the log. Thanks. Tom GameEx.zip
  22. I think this may be because of a .net 2.0 beta install. Try uninstalling .net frameowrk 2.0, reboot and install the latest one from here: http://www.tomspeirs.com/dotnetfx.exe Let us know how you get on. Thanks. Tom
