The problem is that before changing versione it worked one day and it didn't the next one! I changed nothing to .Net or GAmeEx itself!
-
Some more info: setting in GameEx.ini EnableStartPage=False will work, True will work only if ShowStartPageFirst=False. The weird issue is that I can go to the main page when it works, but I cannot autoload it...

Hi all. I used GameEx a few times, but since its last usage I cannot start in anymore! I upgraded to the latest version from 7.x and I still cannot start, it returns an error after the startup screen. Here is my log, I would really like to restore it without losing my emulator configurations... is there a file or two I can reset to make it work again? 04:21:03.8 16/05/2007: GameEx: Version 8.12: Starting Log 04:21:03.8 16/05/2007: Operating System Platform: Win32NT 04:21:03.8 16/05/2007: Operating System Name: Windows XP 04:21:03.8 16/05/2007: Operating System Version: 5.1.2600 04:21:03.8 16/05/2007: Checking for versions of .net Framework installed 04:21:03.8 16/05/2007: .net Framework 1.0 Installed 04:21:03.8 16/05/2007: .net Framework 1.1 Installed 04:21:03.8 16/05/2007: .net Framework 2.0 Installed 04:21:03.8 16/05/2007: AMD Sempron(tm) 04:21:03.8 16/05/2007: 2,4Ghz 04:21:03.8 16/05/2007: Running Randomize() 04:21:03.8 16/05/2007: Loading PlugIns 04:21:03.8 16/05/2007: Checking for applications to Launch On Startup 04:21:03.8 16/05/2007: Running Misc startup tasks 04:21:03.8 16/05/2007: Setting Menu types 04:21:03.8 16/05/2007: Opening Configuration File 04:21:03.8 16/05/2007: Getting Configuration Values 04:21:03.8 16/05/2007: Using Theme: Default - MCE Glossy 04:21:03.8 16/05/2007: Checking for alternate Image Directory for Theme: Default - MCE Glossy 04:21:03.8 16/05/2007: Launching HideOS.exe 04:21:03.8 16/05/2007: Initialising Video/MNG DLL's 04:21:03.8 16/05/2007: Arcade Mode is on 04:21:03.8 16/05/2007: Hiding Taskbar 04:21:03.9 16/05/2007: Is Media Center running? 04:21:03.9 16/05/2007: Checking/Creating LCD Registry values 04:21:03.9 16/05/2007: Check Media Center Exit/Start Mode 04:21:03.9 16/05/2007: Media Center Mode 2 04:21:03.9 16/05/2007: Video previews on. I can confirm that it works ok with the old 66.XY drivers. I really hope they can fix the bug in the 90 series drivers!
-
The FAQ says you need the old drivers for cards up to GeForce 3. I'll try them anyway, but I shall lose MCE Certified Drivers which, in my case (GeForce 4), resolve a graphical tearing issue on non DX9 cards. I will eventually report if those drivers worked for me, so maybe this can complete the FAQ.
-
I'm using the latest 91.9x (?) MCE driver from NVidia (I was previously using the XP version with the same consequences), the FAQ talked about other versions and the same driver (XP Version) works nicely with my 6600 GT. From a feature point of view my cheap GeForce 4 should be no worse than your GeForce 3, so this is puzzling me a bit. If I could keep this card I'd be quite happy as re recent drivers added MCE compatibility which was not there before with the same drivers and with the same version for standard XP (full screen random glitches due to dx9 calls in fullscreen mode). This problem is really bothering me, at first I was quite sure that GameEx had some kind of very basic and light interface that would not result in being anywhere near heavy but unfortunately it's not like that! :'(

OK, time to go for a cheap passive DX9 card to get 100% MCE compatibility

poochie2 started following No way to get decent performance!

Hi all, I recently installed GameEx on my HTPC ([email protected], 1GB, Geforce 4 MX 440 64 MB) with both .net frameworks 2.0 and 3.0. With versions 7.09 and the latest 7.52, there is no way I can get a decent performance in the main menu of GameEx. I tried everything posted in the performance topic but it won't help, I get between 4 and 10 FPS and never more@ 100% CPU or less (if I set some sleep). On my main PC (Ath64 [email protected]) it works like a charm but I don't understand why it's not running on the first computer... any hint? Thanks!
