  1. I can see the problem, and to be honest it never ever occured to me the mouse would need rotating as well as the screen! Ill see what I can do when I get a chance.
  2. No comment about hearing your name on radio HK?
  3. FYI: I've run GameEx fine on a PCI card.
  4. License giveaway. Inspired by that NPR interview. Four licenses up for grabs. Registered users welcome to post, but please say if you dont need a license. Please tell us: "How GameEx helps you relive your childhood video game memories". I hope he's up for this but I would like Brian to pick the winners a week today. One post per person

    Best OS

I recommend XP SP2 for GameEx. It should run fine on Win98 SE (note the SE), 2000, XP, Server 2003, and Vista, and 64 bit version of the latter 3. I have not tested the older OS's for a while with latest GameEx version though. Windows 98SE and 2000 might however be good options for really old hardware though. Since I did all the work on Vista compatiblity a year ago, it should run great on Vista, although I dont recommend because of the compantibility of anything you might be running from GameEx.

    TinyXP

Basicaly. Nlite it, Nlite it, Nlite it. Theres even a Vista version now which I have used to great success. One of the "Non Recommended" (in red) options in Nlite is to remove database components. That must be whats going on TinyXP. Also, is Tiny XP legal? Should it be talked about here? I know with Nlite you basically use your own XP,2000 or Vista install so I have no problems with it. I've used it a lot and like I said the Vista version to. Instead of working on TinyXP which I doubt yourll get to work as once the stuff is removed you cant get it back a lot of time, why not create a topic/thread on the best Nlite options?
  8. Ill look at it again, but so far I have not ben able to duplicate the problem. Sorry.
  9. Just disable Model 2 support in the config app. For whatever reason its turned on and shouldnt be.
  10. Unfortunatly someones ask for help does slip through the cracks on the very rary occasion, and I think thats whats happened here. Im still happy to help you @troll.
  11. I actually did reply to one of your posts, to ask you to post your log file. I also actually did look into your issue here, but can see no reason for the error as yet.
  12. Would love to see it in action. From what I've seen of the configuration it looks very extensive.
  13. Happy New Year. I recommend 5 litres of water, a couple of fry ups, Ibuprofen and some gaming in the afternoon. Thanks for sticking with GameEx All the best. Tom.
  14. Im using the exact same router while I am currently away in the states, although Im using it just as a wireless access point. Ive had no issues with it, but like I said its only in use as an access point. I assume you updated the firmware etc? Also auto update does not do the downloads, it basically downloads the normal setup.exe and runs it automatically and skips the downloads. Cheers. Tom.
  15. It wont mess up your config, it should be safe..
  16. Its not going to be fixed in GameEx anytime soon. As far as I know it should still work if you use -skip_gameinfo in the cmd line options except for games that are not working properly in MAME.
  17. Sounds like you need to do a fresh install and seriously look at your network setup. It only ever uses port 80. Im not going to go into what addresses it uses, as thats irrevelent, why are you blocking them?
  18. Hi, I just answered your email. Drop me another email if your still having problems. Thanks. Tom
  19. Damn, my memories like a siv lately (too much holiday booze). Anyway this release also includes Headkazes LCD Plugin latest version. And special thanks to HK for helping me out with the standby fix..
  20. 30th December 2007- GameEx 9.08 Fixes GameEx minimzied when coming out of standby New instructions image path for emulators Can now specify a single image file for emulator controls Includes Headkazes LCD Plugin 2.4 Special thanks to Headkaze for help with this release. I cant update the news on the main site at the moment as my hosts DNS servers seem to be down and its messed up some of my scripts.
  21. In the next release yourll also be able to specify a single image file instead of a folder for the control panel path.
  22. Yeah it was. Its actually fixed and working here now, and will be in the next release. So thank HK.
  23. As far as I recall, custom layouts should be implemented for emulators just not modules. As far as I can think theres two features left to implemented and that is custom layouts for modules (ie juke, etc) and the control panel customization.
  24. Thanks, I've been meaning to do something with this issue. Ill check it out. Got a question for you. If GameEx is already maximized or normal but does not have the focus on resume how would I set it so it does? Never really known the best way to do that, or if its even possible with XP and beyond?
  25. It looks like its only a release candidate, so Im not toucing it yet, but thanks for the update Kaze.
