  1. i think you dont get me Draco , If you use a movie for GameExIsLoading instead of the .png, then if GameEx starts, your movie will play first, like intended, BUT you need to wait until your movie is played to the end and THEN GameEx will start loading stuff. So you basically produce a step, where GameEx is taking a LONGER time to load as it would normally do. And this is something, i cant imagine, that this is intended. Thats the thing i meant as i said, this would be a feature request. IMHO, Game Ex should load all the stuff in the background, while the GameExIsLoading-Movie is playing, but it doesnt, get what i mean? PS: can you tell us, what codec you used for your movie, or even better load it up here and i will try it too.
  2. Ah ok, i understand now. mmmh.. works for me, but i wouldnt recommend to use a movie for that, because you will have to wait that movie till the end, before it goes further. no matter if GameEx allready loaded the stuff. And somehow, GameEx will start to load, AFTER the movie NOT WHILE the movie is playing, thats sad, as the movie is useless in this manner. this would be a feature request, as this is not logical imho. maybe your movie is to short, see what happens if the movie is at least 10sec. long. i used a H264 codec in a avi-container, and it worked.
  3. Hi Draco, start your theme-editor and choose for the "Start" your video. select "start" under the templates and go under edit--->video... and choose your video. this should work for you, good luck Draco .
  4. can not wait to see this.... its not that we can use movies with alpha right now, but the codecs that support alpha, are very high in datasize, rendering it nearly useless, especially if you go HDTV with your theme. but this sounds very, very promising. if this happen, it will be a huge step forward for theme-creators and many themes will have some "live" .... just great Headkaze. many, many thanks for this nice feature. happy u-man, dancing around
  5. absolutely true
  6. fantastic work..... congratulations on this !! ps: somehow first link doesnt work
  7. use this attached .png and tell us, if it works. replace it with the one in your theme media folder. it works for me. good luck hover over the attached thingy, because its transparent, it cant be previewed and thats the reason why you see nothing.
  8. 1.) Yes, just delete "Unselected.png" in the theme-media folder, or replace it with a 100% transparent .png. 2.) No... not that i am aware off. I told that allready in the Request/Feature Quest. Maybe you do it also and it maybe will done in future. Hate that white Line, looks even more terrible on a real cab with interlaced resolution (i.e. 640x480). It jitters a lot. 3.) No... not that I am aware off 4.) Welcome here
  9. sounds like big, great news. thats what i wanted to hear . ok, i found out that the models exported with ZbylsXExporter are faster loaded. this plug-in takes a lot of time to export, i used the 3d-rads exporter the times before, because it was way faster than Zybls, but the resulting models take longer to load, dont know why. cannot wait to see that upcoming release... thank you headkaze, i will keep an eye on it
  10. Hello, it was "Yes Extra search (Slow)", i changed that, but with no luck. Tried it witch Snap/Video Delay also... no luck. Looks like the models are to detailed... i dont know. This Stuff can only tell Tom himself, as he is the only one, who knows how GameEx works internally and if there is hope for a better solution.
  11. ooh, i read this topic often . Headkaze should update his first post, with the models of user SKIDLID in post 63 of this thread. They are much more useable, because of the tilted models. if you try out my models in my first post in this thread here, you will see that they are much more detailed and more beautiful than all the stuff we have before. but like i said, the emulator section need to much time to load them, to be useful, even if i use just the models from the Headkaze-thread, it takes way to long to show up, if you jump from one emu to another in the list. if you wanna try out my models, you will need to put them into the LOGO folder of your theme and give it some time to load. they will show up, just give them the same name like the logo you use for the emulator. it would be good, if all the available 3D models from the logo section, would be loaded at once into memory and they should be loaded first, prior database especially. cant be too much memory, especially these days with lots of ram on both graphic-cards and pc, but i dont know how configurable the 3D engine in GameEx is. it would be so cool, if it would load faster or at least the "data loading" window should show up, so that someone is aware that something is happening . i will contribute more 3D models, if i know that it is useful to do so.
  12. thanks for the tips, i allready reduced the polygons and textures used. As i allready said, my playstation 3D model and the atari 2600 3D model are near the same size... 1,1MB-1,3MB and the playstation model loads much, much faster, than the atari model. so i think it must have to do with the Assets/ Images/ Artwork stuff, as there a lot more for Atari than for the playstation and maybe thats the reason, why the atari model needs longer to load. really bad is the snes model as it is both... huge in database and a over 3MB sized 3D-model. but maybe i am doing something wrong... who knows.
  13. Hello again guys , I recently tried to use the 3D models for the emulator section, instead of the logos in .png we have. i modified the 3d models a bit... i.e. i added joysticks or exchanged the whole model with a better one. problem is that it takes some time before its showing up, too much time for my taste. The rather big playstation model loads faster than the atari 2600 model (which is smaller) for example, but it has only 80 games and the atari has over 1000. can this be a problem or where is the relationship for faster 3D loading? what can i do for acceleration without reducing the games? my rig is a fast quadcore pc with 32gb ram on windows7 64bit and a graphic card with 4gb ram, this should be fast enough for sure, to load the 3d models all at once in no time. if someone will try my new models, i attached them here. I also altered the angle of the models, to look far more interesting. more models coming soon, but i need to know, if this is interesting for someone and if it make sense, because at the moment its not fast enough. thx in advance 3D_Consoles.zip
  14. first a big thanks for the advices . I would not use the database for validating Roms, i would use them to see what Roms are missing for example. so it seems i cannot create .dat from gameex-database ok, that may work, but this is for registered members only .
  15. mmmh, I dont know it exactly, but i think you have for every emulator two screens. emulator and emulator selected. One of these screens have the behaviour you have described, but the other screen doesnt have a logo (you can choose from) at all, so that image 1 and 2 is showing the stuff where you pointed it in the setup-wizard. I also would like to have more control for these fields. For example if you have changed your view to show Titles instead of names, one of these fields is showing Titles too, which is useless, because why you would show the same thing like Titles twice?
  16. Hello Guys, I would like to know, how the Emumovies in GameEx works. I have a lot of missing Artwork in SNES for example. I guess that EmuMovies have a Database that compares the roms that someone have. So my question would be, where i can find the database that is used by Emumovies. Can I open this in Romcenter or in a other Rom-Tool?? Same goes for GameEx and the .db3 files. How can I use them in a Rom-Tool? thanks in advance
  17. Yeah cant wait to see this. Looks like a Sequel to Chasing Ghosts ( ).The King of Arcades: http://www.thekingofarcades.com/

    Xpadder profile

yes you can.... you need to start the pluginmanager.exe in your GameEx install folder. check the xpadder plugin and then configure it. you can do seperate profiles for each emulator. hope this helps.
  19. i didnt used the command-line option for this. try to use the before and after commands in the setup-wizard. in the Emulator Setup this is my command-line: epsxe.exe -nogui -loadmemc0 "memcards\[rom]" this is what i put in "Launch Before" in the Advanced Emulator Setup: "C:\Program Files (x86)\DAEMON Tools Lite\DTLite.exe" -mount scsi, 0,"[rompath]\[romfile]" and this is what i put in "Launch After" in the Advanced Emulator Setup: "C:\Program Files (x86)\DAEMON Tools Lite\DTLite.exe" -unmount scsi, 0 i tried to setup my epsxe yesterday and had the same problems, but this should work, at least for me . you wrote: ".... but most of my games have multiple bin files.. epsxe tries to boot them, but after the white sony logo all I see is a glitchy, black screen and the emulator freezes." you may need to merge the files, to make one big single image file, to make it work in epsxe. look here: http://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/12269-playstation-cue-with-multiple-bins-tracks-fixed/ or use one of the plugins from gameex for loading multiple bins. my advice is to checkout nullpointers great tool: http://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/11902-release-switchdisc-104/ hope it helps, i am german too and you can PM me, in case of troubleshooting.
  20. we should use the best dip-settings, so cheating here is avoided i.e. playing with most lives or easy mode etc. i like the idea very much and looking forward, how well we all can play .
  21. Many, many thanks Tom, especially the theme-editor fix . can not wait for the major update .
  22. OMG. OMG. OMG..... it works..... Tom i am speechless.... you can not imagine how happy i am right now. man if i ever met you, than it will not be only ONE beer . thank you sooooooooo much, you rocks man, really. what a relief
  23. Ok... today I installed a English Windows7 64bit Ultimate and I still have this error I am really frustrated and tired right now. Guys come on, somebody give me a older version of GameEx <12.90.... PLEEEEASE. What have i done to deserve this?
  24. I know what Windows N version is, it is because of the EU-laws, but I do not have this version. My Version have mediaplayer pre-installed. If I download the media pack, it says, it is not for this version of windows.
  25. sorry to say that, but error is still there . i dont use windows 7 N, i use windows7 64bit ultimate (german). can i use language pack to make it english? does it behave like a english version then? I know it worked in version 12.90, but it could still be some Microsoft Update. If you have some older GameEx 12.90< , so i could try this, that would be very nice .
