  1. You may want to check out this thread started by ClassicGMR too. I'm not sure these fit your needs, but Krakerman mentions quite a few alternatives that I wasn't familiar with at the time. It also doesn't hurt knowing the TankStick goes on sale
  2. Button layout on multi purpose controllers is a crap shoot at best IMO, and someone at X-Gaming likely had a really good reason for putting those two lower buttons there. Regardless, there is no substitute for the real thing right, so the reasoning for it may lead to some question as to the logic behind it, while in practice, there was actually some reason. I ordered one of their controllers early on, and there are plenty out there that will tell you they are not quality controllers. They'll point to happ sticks and buttons, and then there's another group that doesn't like happ, so on and so on. I ended up cancelling my order for completely different reasons, so I can't really say, but with as many happy customers they have attained, they must be doing something right, and I don't think you will beat the price point. ClassicGMR points out an excellent quaility they have, "mod-ability"! There's always room for improvement, and these provide a prebuilt canvas of sorts to do just that without having to build it all. Based on my experience, that alone will result it much more gaming time, and less agonizing over details you can't possibly predict until experience teaches you otherwise.
  3. That's great, they run Daphne! I'd imagine those discs have laser-rot by now.
  4. This is dated for sure, but it's something I ran across, and found interesting. I never knew this, wonder what other gems we haven't seen. Ms. Pac-Man Was Once A Man Named Otto
  5. Ah, I was just checking out their site again, and noticed that they weren't hosting it this year, but yeah I can see why. American Restoration is one of the few shows I enjoy watching, but missed the two episodes featuring their machines. Anyone interested can check them out here.
  6. Man that place looks awesome I like how they grouped them by manufacturer. Makes for quite a reminder that so many companies in addition to Nintendo stuck with the same cab design. That Taito line-up looks really cool. Glad to see BurgerTime in the appropriate "end of the row" spot. I checked this out last year when you posted about it, but didn't really grasp that it had been around that long. Going by those pics of the pinball and space invaders tournaments, this place has been around. Makes me wonder how many of those machines have been there since they were new So did you take these really early, or really late? I'm amazed you got all those no people shots! Serious piece of Americana under one roof, thanks for sharing
  7. All updated here too
  8. beta is out
  9. indeed.... fridge full of these waiting on me
  10. Yeah, I know what you mean, but I did some more looking into this. trustpilot xboxzone thread
  11. cdkeys.com Like them on facebook, and get another 5% off Disclaimer, I haven't purchased through cdkeys.com, and they have to few reviews at resellerratings to tip the scales in one way or another. Probably safe, but just wanted to be clear. <edit> also depending on your location, payment in GBP is also available for those of you across the pond.
  12. Thanks for linking that, it was interesting to read everyone's thoughts and preferences.
  13. Have you posted this over at BYOAC? I have an older ipac2, but Jack at Arcades R Fun built my controller (yep, I took the easy way out) so I never delved into the world of initial setup on these.
  14. Good edit there, and a more accurate assessment IMO
  15. Very valid points you've got, but in my mind George lost whatever magic he had with this long ago. I recall being so pumped for the first prequel, only to be so disappointed. Hell, I even took off work that day to go see it. Needless to say I wasn't nearly so eager for the next couple, though I did get really excited at all the positive comments about Revenge of the Sith. Was III that good, nah, not to me anyway, just overhyped bad acting with great special effects, along with an average story. I will go into this one expecting the same, hoping to be surprised. IMO the Star Trek movie series has been vastly superior to the new Star Wars, and I"m not a Trekkie. Oh well, these movies will never deliver the experience they did for me as a kid, they can't, as so much of the cinematics is common place today we're numb to it. I think there's a better than average chance this will be a good flick though, and return some of the humor and lightheartedness instead of the stiff mannequin acting and dialogue we've been getting. Don't worry......
  16. For the lego geeks, you know who you are
  17. My feelings exactly! As for Disney, remember John Carter, yeah didn't think so! I liked it, but something went terribly wrong with how it was sold to the public. Fortunately they won't have that problem here, or shouldn't! Always some drama in Star Wars land Great shot kid......
  18. Wonder what was up with that TRON unit, it's around 2:10. They were always the best looking game in a dark arcade (IMO), so something seems off with that particular unit. Regardless, everything looks amazing! Did your wife get into it as well? Vic's like me, she would have been sitting at that Star Wars cab until someone pried her off of it
  19. Great attention to detail all the way down to this thread! Thanks for sharing your progress, it's looking super!!! <edit> Is your trackball metal?
  20. Thanks for letting us know!
  21. This combination exits for me too, but it's never caused me a problem, and I never knew it until OP mentioned it. I lookedI earlier today while I was playing aroound, if it's in there, I overlooked it, which is entirely probable BTW.
  22. Yeah, that MakeronEx cap looks washed out, not to mention the hedge in the hood of that jeep Thanks for the input stigz and Dazzle, looks I'll be safe If I want to crank up some old fav's, F-Zero, StarFox etc., from my SNES days. Some day that is.......
  23. I just verified this once again on ports 21 as well as 22, and everything seems to be back to normal.
  24. Thanks for the detailied write up on the client, it's looking good. When Origin came out I was feeling pretty, "ugh, another game client", but since then, and uplay, I don't feel so much that way. Keeps Steam on their toes, and us from being stuck without choices.
