What Draco said: 2007 MAME releases would have been 0.112 - 0.122 and are obviously quite dated now. If one of these executables is running with your rom-set relatively problem free, then that would lead me to believe that your rom-set is also circa 2007. A 2022 executable release is going to have issues with an old set built upon a previous executable due to the many advances/changes that have occurred with the code in the last 15 years. You could rebuild your set with something like clrmamepro, but it's not the most "casual user" friendly software (which is an HUGE understatement) and you would need supporting dats and update packs to even begin. All that said, if your currently satisfied then the least frustrating path is to just stick with what's working until such time something compels you to dig in and update the whole lot. It's worth noting however that GameEx is updated along the way as well, and is also much more frustration free with current builds.

Did you run "verify setup" at the end of the config to check for possible problems? <edit> Do you have .net framework installed?

If you're referring to the VPDB site or portion of this site, those are freezy's domain and have been progressing as time allows for many years now. As is the case with most of us, there are other commitments to tend to in real life as well, but the project is continuing to move along.

Looks awesome dude! As much as it was hated in general, I thought 8.1 was a decent OS, but 10 just can't get out of it's own way from all the things the patches themselves break. I'll keep a Windows rig in the future for a gaming rig, but I'm moving to Linux distro's to fill other needs. This BS with my 6700K's not being supported in 11 was the last straw really, it's still plenty CPU.

Who knew, the ladies loved 7" joysticks and revolted against the smaller 1" ball tops! I suppose that answers the age old question.

I remember the day this game hit the floor at our local arcade. This many years later I'm not sure the spelling is correct, but Doh-Rah's was our typical arcade hangout, since it was within biking distance. It wasn't huge like Brunswick Billiards, but it was cozy and wasn't lit up like the face of the sun (like Brunswick) If I recall correctly, this was one of the first to push the price above a single quarter (oh and here that's being mentioned in the video as I reply), but everyone was so mesmerized by this game it didn't matter. I never got good at it, not even close, but others had it mastered weeks later and it was pretty cool just watching them play. It represented the next evolutionary step at the time, but by the time people mastered it the replay value suffered. Still, it was damn cool at the time it launched.
