  1. I read a news story about this very thing the other day, @RIP-Felix. Stores that are Pokestops are setting up accounts just to use lures to get people to come to their stores to catch Pokemon. It's a fairly cheap way to help drive foot traffic. Yelp even has a Pokestop filter already for restaurants. I went to a minor league baseball game Sunday, and all 4 corners of the field had active lures on their Pokestops for the entirety of the game. I'm not sure if it was the team, or random people setting them off, but that's still a good way to get people to walk around, and past, all of the concession stands.
  2. Good to hear. Ultimarc sells an adaptor for consoles so you shouldn't need the Brook board. I'm not sure about PS4, but I know it works for XB360 and PS3. FA already has decent prices. The extra 20% off is just icing on the cake.
  3. It should work if it supports command lines, which I think it does. Someone asked about it a few months back as well. I use MAMEUIFX64 without any problems with the built in MAME support from GameEx.
  4. People are being stupid. There are 15 stops and 3 gyms where I work, so I see a lot of people being dumb. No one has been mugged yet though so there's that. Fortunately, the employees here are pretty good about phone use, so guest experience hasn't been affected yet.
  5. So I know it isn't technically available for our friends across the pond in Europe, but who got sucked into this game? I'd say a solid 80% of the people I work with play. Granted I work with mostly Millennials. It's also a good way to trick my son into walking around and exercising. Let's not forget the nostalgia....and it's fun to boot.
  6. @tthurman For what it's worth my kid about wore the rubber off the thumb stick on the controller playing these games this weekend. Thanks for the heads up on this.
  7. The people I work with know, and appreciate, my love of retro games. The four of us that work the closest together all love video games, and it's one of the strongest bonds that we share. When I wasn't looking today one of them made a Pac-Man scene with a slice of butternut squash and slices of banana. I'd say he did a smash up job.
  8. They lost me at $30. Granted some of the games look sweet, but it's still a long way off from being worth $30.
  9. I just bought the PvZ table today. I ended up manually adding the game in Game Manager. I just entered in the information by hand for each section and manually selected the media (playfield, wheel image, etc.). I'm sure there's an automagic solution, but that was the quickest way to do it for me personally. If you do it that way keep in mind that the new tables may change the grid positions of your current tables. The last 3 tables on my last row all shifted 1 position with the addition of the new table.
  10. I just moved up from MAMEUIFX64 0.169 to 0.174 and it's working fine. What version was giving you trouble?
  11. The Steam summer sale has begun. Hopefully a few games on my watch list hit the sale page. http://store.steampowered.com
  12. I just bought them all. You can't go wrong for $10.
  13. Hopefully something will pop up that meets your needs. It's hard finding the perfect controller. I don't think it exists.
  14. The new xbone controllers are going to have Bluetooth built in which is nice. I might pick one up just to free up a USB port.
  15. Welcome to (posting on) the forums.
  16. Yeah. MakeMKV is there for the encryption keys. If you already have that covered you can skip it. Since disk space and using WMC are my main concerns I prefer MP4. MKV has higher quality, but less compatibility. MP4 has less quality, but higher compatibility. Personally I can't tell the difference in quality. Maybe on a 4K tv, but we're still running 1080p on every tv and monitor in the house.
  17. The combination of MakeMKV and Handbrake are probably the most popular free options. You rip with MakeMKV and then convert the file to your desired format with Handbrake. Edit: Here's a decent tutorial. http://www.digitaltrends.com/home-theater/how-to-rip-a-dvd-or-blu-ray-movie/#:ZpVLFxCxlftmxQ
  18. Happy Birthday, Draco!
  19. I think I will do that, @MNMax21. It didn't even occur to me to do that. I've just turned the volume dial up and down on my speakers. And that's why I love this community .
  20. Nice catch @MNMax21. I totally forgot about that since it's just so automatic now. I also have Player 1 assigned as the shift key. P1+ P1 Button 1 or P2 Burton 2 is add coin, P1+P2 is escape and the joystick directionals are assigned to the option keys in MAME. It is a thing of beauty.
  21. That parts arepretty close to what I built for myself instead of buying the X-Arcade Tankstick. I think you'll be happy with the end result. The ipac is an amazing board.
  22. I recommend the ipac board. It's pretty amazing. As for parts I've been happy with Focus Attack. They run a sale every 3 months (next one is August or September) called Attack on Wakeup where they offer 10% off the entire store. That being said you should be able to get the board for $35, Buttons for $2-$3 each, and sticks for $9-$12 each. They also sell quick disconnects, wire, and all that stuff of if you want or need it.
  23. Good God. I feel old. The least the could have done waa let them play Vanguard or something decent.
  24. Following up @stigzler everything is working like a charm. Thank you again!
  25. Have it. Love it. In the process of building a higher powered pc to be able to use it more. It does work decently as a light gun replacement for MAME as well. Mayflash controller adapters work well also if you want to use your old timey controllers on the pc.
