Awesome! Love ma coasters! Coincidentally, i recently bought Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 and i can't get enough of it I may well try and recreate this bad boy at some point!
  2. HLSL needs D3D to work and the snapper by default uses DDraw (which in turn will disable your HLSL). Try enabling "Mame Snap Mode" in the Snapper config. Not sure how much of an impact Direct Input will have on this, but i think this is the reason Adultery added this mode
  3. You seem to have 2 rom paths set in your screenshot: E:\GameEx\EMULATORS\MAME\roms;E:\Roms\Mame any reason for this? Usually you would have the whole romset in one folder. You may want to try deleting that whole entry and use the browse button to find your roms. Or manually remove one of those paths.
  4. I'm half guessing what you want here as i'm not understanding the "left\right" part, but if i am assuming correctly you might want to look into Interface Mode. You can find it in the Setup Wizard> Custom> Display Settings (near the bottom). Feel free to elaborate if i'm barking up the wrong lamp post And welcome to the forums

  7. So try again with both "Screenshot" and "Detect/Send Pause" disabled?
  8. What happens if you disable/uncheck "Screenshot" in CP Wizard? I've never used it (CP Wizard) but would assume that both plugins use the same method. EDIT - Don't be afraid to shoot me down if i'm way off course here - as i said i've never used CP Wizard. I just like to give options/reasons to ponder
  9. Aged 83 - He had a long and prosperous life Not to mention the many roles he had in recent times, trying to break the "Spock" chain. He will be remembered as an artist. A truly great actor.
  10. This usually happens when you have something set in Background Snap Path in your Emulator Setup. Try deleting it (make it blank) and reboot GameEx.
  11. You make me feel like an awkward teen in years of service But i agree with you, GameEx does inspire a kind of unconditional loyalty doesn't it? Only 4 years so far but i'm in it for the long haul now
  12. Knows that
  13. Hi there and welcome to the forums. First off, i request you post your gameex.ini and log.txt (instructions) as they will provide valuable information to anyone viewing your post. Secondly it would help if you could answer a couple of questions. Does this emulator run disk images natively, ie without third party mounting software etc? And does it work outside of GameEx with the command your posted? I've personally never used this emu but i can suggest some alterations to your command line. I would erase the spaces in your switches, and put the proper GameEx command for romfile ( [ROMPATH\ROMFILE] ) like so: fs-uae --amiga-model=CD32 --cdrom-drive-0="[ROMPATH\ROMFILE]"Bear in mind that this is just a suggestion, someone with better knowledge may follow up.
  14. It's been a long long time since i've used either, but i think back when i tested this, that the integrated GE downloader will find a "nearest match" and download to the relevant directories as defined in your emulator setup, renaming them to match your roms. However while using the "manual downloader" it will only download exact matches with no renaming involved. Here comes my popular-as-of-late disclaimer: my memory sucks derriere and it's quite possible i dreamt all of that
  15. Thanks for all you do buddy, and keeping our corner of the forum together and running so smoothly - you're a Super Star! Hope you had a good one! Daz
  16. Yeah that's kind of why i put that disclaimer - the rig i tested all this on was w7 x64 with AMD card. I tried to figure it out myself (mind you, it was over a year ago, and things have changed since), but on that particular rig and setup i was encountering all manner of focus issues - but only when launching Steam in BP mode. I would disable it and everything was fine. Like i said it seemed random at the time as sometimes it all still worked flawlessly, other times i would exit a game and all i got was the "big picture screensaver" and had to either hard exit (Steam) or Alt-TAB back to GE.
  17. That's why i suggested to kill GE on Steam launch, and kill Steam on GE launch, aka the "Yo-yo Effect", back and forth. I've tried it thoroughly GameEx and Steam play nice in normal circumstances, but as soon as you introduce Big Picture it (they both) become unstable. They fight for focus and it's kind of random which one wins. It's probably something to do with how each game utilizes "fullscreen", but i'm not experienced in this field. You guys may have more of an idea.
  18. It does seem enticing! Especially if you have Steam Streaming setup already (meaning you already have a capable host rig). Imagine on tap emulation to multiple rooms in your home, using relatively cheap under powered boxes! To a lesser tech savvy person it would seem unreal - and mind bogglingly impressive! "What does that little box do?" "Oh this little thing? Well, let me show you" @Draco - launching Steam in Big Picture is just a matter of a command line switch, i forget which at the moment but a quick search should give you something. The problem though in my experience, is that Steam BP and GameEx don't always play nice with each other This may well be OS and or GE version independent though. But if you were to try this (again like nullPointer, if i understand you right ) then i would recommend to kill GE when launching Steam, and vice versa
  19. oh it's a dirty job but someone's gotta do it...

I got the reference but still like the thought of stigz openly confessing that he's a "sweater" :D For all to see heheh

I thought you Brits called it a "Jumper" :-p

LOL Factually, that is correct - However i'm willing to bet that most women would prefer a "sweater" than a "jumper hehehe

  20. Oh, and to answer your question - try looking into "Send Keys" (alt+w) Bear in mind though that it will do this for all roms launched
  21. I know the feeling, and normally i wouldn't openly advertise third party software like this - but GameBase does an outstanding job when it comes to the old school micro stuff like C64, ZX, CPC etc which is why i think that Tom included the plug 'n' play option to begin with. Without GameBase, these systems can be a major pain in the ass Trust me when i say many have tried. No problem, but if you need more help then go ahead and open a new thread - we encourage it here! Micro systems are the hardest to get to grips with, so if you need anything, you know where to go
  22. Disclaimer: It's been a long time and by no means an expert on Commodore stuff. But, if the commands are different you could setup WinVice multiple times with each rom type and use the Rom Filter to your advantage. You would then use Emulator Groups to combine them all into one list. However, i believe i switched to to GameBase for this very reason - once GB is up and running then it's easy to integrate into GameEx. If you're not aware GE has plug-in GameBase support Likely though you will probably get better support from people who still run these systems. I just like to give options
  23. Awesome! Glad you got that sorted. U-man really knows his stuff when it comes to VGA You may want to advertise your card in the Trade Forum. Though not as effective as a dedicated site such as ebay, you can be sure anyone looking in there has the same interests, and it has worked well for members
  24. Nice! I recently purchased most of them from latest Squenix Steam sale
  25. Hi there, and welcome to the forums! If your end goal is to have one entry of Final Burn Alpha, with one giant game list that launches the correct platform (ie the relevant command for each system) then this can be achieved, but it will take some work on your part to get up and running. It will be worth it however I've never used FBA but i will assume, unless i'm corrected, that it uses different commands for each system. What you will need to do is setup FBA multiple times in the Setup Wizard - once for each system you are emulating with FBA. You can specify in each different setup which rom directory to point at. So for example, setup FBA for Coleco, name it something like "FBA Coleco" (good naming will make things easier later), enter the command to launch Coleco roms, and point the RomPath to your Coleco roms. Do the same again in a different emulator slot but for SG1000, entering the SG1000 command and point to SG1000 roms. Rinse and repeat this process until you have each system setup in different emulator slots. A word of caution at this point: I would test each system thoroughly before moving on to the next. It's better to get things working properly in the beginning Once you are satisfied that each system is running how it should, you should then, and only then, look into emulator groups. Emulator Groups allow you to merge multiple emulator setups into one seamless list. Example: Of course another route (instead of Emulator Groups) which is much more versatile and of which i'm a fan is Custom Menus Either way good luck and don't hesitate to call back if you hit any snags.
