Dang, you're getting awfully close to me and I don't much care for it.

It wouldn't have to be a security issue if it were handled properly... I might even do it on my server and generate a link that you could copy and paste into your post. If I were to get around to it that is... I always have a ton of projects going all at once, but don't rule out the possibility.

Short of Tom coming in I would assume thats a yes, I'm pretty sure he updated recently (at least I know he updated the rar tech since rar5 hit the streets). To be positive though, give it a go on a test rom and let us know.

You could make a map file and put dead links in place of the rom, then it would just fall back to GameEx if it was launched. Thats how I would do it anyways. Edit: aww snap! Tom beat me to it.

I don't have much if any C knowledge, so thats not likely at this time unfortunately. :'(

Update coming soon that adds an anti-cheat measure to force users to be honest, and fixes some issues with D3D capture (this will now pause MAME on the screen you press the button on, take the snap, and unpause the game). This will also do some extra work to keep the snap naming how I need it when the plugin is enabled to avoid people's custom snap paths if they have them set in MAME. Thanks of course to Ben for his help with sending the PAUSE command to the MAME window.

The anti-cheat is working fine too BTW. There's no way to cheat with this plugin enabled. Wish I would have thought about that sooner, I could be a lot higher up on some of these lists. LOL! I'm joking, of course....

Sorry for the delay. I added code to the snapper plugin look for and remove the -cheat command-line and it screwed something up, but I fixed it. Here's the snap.

/side note: Dr. Brandenburg on that show is the math professor at my school. Ha!

You would have to ask Tom but I thought that directory was for the Artwork Download Utility outside of GameEx, and the folder you specify is where automatic downloads go to.

That depends. Whichever folder the gx mame setup points to is where they reside or are downloaded to.

I don't think a reinstall is gonna fix this anyway. Did you try rebuilding your MAME game list using the option in the MAME menu?

I'm sorry I haven't already, I've been busy IRL. I was gonna pull the beta out as a stable release, but I'll add that in first. Thanks for your patience. Just to clarify, you want to set a specific control panel that displays on the GameEx menu screens and stays there, right?

I'll do something about this with GI, the code is already there, I just gotta add support for it.

Sorry I meant Virtual Drive Loader plugin for GameEx. It works fine, but it takes a minute to launch while it unpacks the archive.
