Not a lot of systems have video adverts so I just use a custom path for these. As far as the utility goes, it creates a 'miss' and a 'have' list so as long as you leave these in their respective folders this shouldn't happen. I move all my snaps and leave these txts for scanning missing snaps so the utility shouldn't download stuff I already have. No need to worry as long as it works (I have yet to test this theory).
Just to comment on GameStop: Used games piss devs off enough that the new idea of having to pay for a pass to play games online, so supporting Game and GameStop is just the same as pirating (only it's a grey area).
I use KEGA Fusion for this but I run a much higher rez. It supports custom resolutions though so I'm sure it will work for you. Try it out! It's also great for Genesis, Game Gear, 32x, and SEGA CD. It's really well done IMHO.
I'll tell ya first hand that I used VirtuaNES for a couple three years and have completely forgotten about it once I snagged NESTopia! I'm super pleased with it!
For me it's a thrill tweaking stuff just right. I have all three major consoles so I feel good about supporting devs. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy the challenge of new tech (or recycled old tech in the Wii's case!)!
Either would do that. Again, I just think it would be easier to impliment adding another path to an existing field as opposed to creating a new sub class for a new field. That would also save having to write a new routine for gamer cards and GameEx live, ya know? It's a win/win.
Yes. They need to match the ROM name (or at least be close and have best match turned on, but that's not always going to work out). I think Tempest has a loader on the forum here that renames your art to match your rom name, but I use the EmuMovies tool to download snaps and have not needed it.
All programmer jokes are sad in a way. I was IMing with my wife and I said "that bytes!" She then pointed out I spelled it wrong. That's the moment I realized I was the only one laughing at my jokes.
In all honesty I feel the best way to handle this would be to allow for multiple folder paths in the Snap/AVI entry instead of having two seperate entries, but again that's just an opinion.
*cough* CycloDS 2.10 with EZFlash 3-in-1 *cough* I really think Moonshell is the way to go here. I didn't turn up anything that could play these when I had a look around.
It is. I just have one main complaint with it. If a game that doesn't use an analog pad (ie Breath Of Fire) and your gamepad is set up as an analog pad, the controller doesn't work at all. I have to set this up as two seperate emulators for a handful of games. The psx never had this problem so I don't know why the emu does.
Let's take a sec and make sure all the games show up in the "All MAME Games" list. Can you see Mr. Driller at all? .:EDIT:. now that you mention it, I don't have that list either, and I don't see my PSX games in the list anywhere.
I didn't know that was even possible. I've only used chdman once and it was to try and convert a hdd file to a chd many moons ago. Do you have documentation on this? To use it before I just dragged and dropped the file I was trying to convert onto the exe. It was so long ago however that I don't even remeber if it worked or not.
