  1. If that were the case it wouldn't load my profiles correctly (which it does), so I have to say I'm 100% sure it launches LaunchAfter after the emulator quits but before GameEx regains focus. It seems some things work better than others though... it won't close Xpadder from the command line but it *will* execute a profile change from the command line. Same with DaemonTools, it ejects the drive after the emulator exits for me.
  2. Now we're getting somewhere!
  3. Unfortunately your computer won't recognize the wiimote as a controller without a driver (see GlovePie). I am also using Dolphin but haven't mastered the Wii end of it enough to add it in to GameEx, with the exception of GameCube games which use a mapped controller. Supposedly GlovePIE can make your WiiMote do just about anything from game controller to mouse pointer, and maybe light gun but that may be thinking too far outside the box. As far as wether or not GlovePIE and Dolphin can coexist, you're on your own but keep me posted. If you can make it seamless I have two extra WiiMotes that may just replace my PS2 controllers (man I love that Classic controller pro!).
  4. Ok, I can answer some of these. Let's see... A) Player 1 and 2 control the menu without any custom key combos. Using controllers I map Start 1 and Start 2 (and select) to their respective buttons on my PS2 controllers. I am implimenting a P1 and P2 start button and a universal select button into my layout. The buttons are on order. C) Currently I use the R2 and L2 buttons for page up and down. My final layout will have 12 buttons acrossed the top which I will map for this for GameEx and use as F-keys for emulators. D) I have added a switch and LEDs to indicate power and HDD activity to the bottom side of my cabinet that I reclaimed from an old computer tower, which works quite well. I have fashioned a cover also so the switch does not get hit inadvertantly. E) I currently use a 7 speaker surround system with the center speaker mounted below the marquee and the L-front and R-Front speakers mounted below the c-panel. The rears and subwoofer are mounted inside the cabinet, along with the board, HDDs, and controller ports. I also have a DVD drive mounted inside the cabinet under the shelf that slides in and used to hold the game board when it was a cabinet. Newegg was a great place to find those rare cables you may need later. The volume is controlled by a knob on the front right speaker. An extra drawer is a cool idea. I actually mounted a mailbox to the outside of the cabinet to hold my extra two controllers and GameEx operations\emu controls manual. Be careful not to cut yourself short on button space because you will be replacing microswitches from time to time. My PS2 controllers are official Sony PS2 wireless controllers controlled by a Tiger Super Joy Box 5 USB controller mounted inside the cabinet and out of sight, which has served me well. I also have a line in port and a 4-port USB hub mounted to the outside of the cabinet should I want to hook up the Droid or a flash drive while I play. Sorry, that was long winded as hell! Hope I covered all your questions!

    TG-16 CD

DATs are okay as long as there's no ROMs in the zip and of course you don't take credit for creating them.
  6. Can I get you to try a couple things? -Remove the MAP file and see if it works for you. If not, -Put the MAP file back and try and run a table. When it doesn't work, please post your GameEx log. If yes, -The problem is in the MAP file. A couple other things I thought of off top of my head: Are your tables zipped? Can you post your MAP file so I can hava a look at it?
  7. So emulation can't get around the slow loading time? That sucks! I figured ROM speed wouldn't be dependant on the original equipment since you would use an ISO loader which reads at much higher speeds.
  8. I'm going to start using Tempest's loader soon, but as of now things work fine without it. Could you try and just use vpinball.exe and let us know if this works?
  9. Just for the record here... I found Xpadder works great if you launch and close it from Advanced Config - Tweaks menu. I call up Xpadder and have it load the default (blank) profile, and close when GameEx quits. I use the Launch Before and After commands to load up the profile for that emu and then reload the blank one. Does this help you at all? Link Here
  10. I see. So it appears to me that the snap feature is attempting to "crash" or "force close" ScummVM instead of sending CTRL+X to close it. This could be a GameEx bug... Especially if you are using "press [ESC] to create snap". It seems to me that the game is quitting during the snap process but not quitting the emulator itself. Anyone out there confirm my theory?
  11. So ScummVM isn't quitting gracefully. What keys does ScummVM use to exit the emulator?
  12. Do you use custom lists for MAME?
  13. ^^me too! Having one makes it hard to be motivated enough to actually set up an emu for it. I do rock me some Space Channel 5 and Gauntlet Legends from time to time!
  14. Does one of your emulators have "Use Database Name" set to "yes"?
  15. I did not, but I will now! Is there like a time approximately? I almost feel like maybe one of your maps could be causing the problem? It seems strange to me that it will work for a while and then stop. There has to be a common denominator we're overlooking here.
  16. Ahh bummer! I was ready to start snagging apps for the cab! Ha!
  17. Wait a sec, hold up... iPad apps run on a Windows PC? For real? Wait, I just missed a joke I think! *confused*

    Xpadder woes

Hey everyone. I'm using xpadder to try and get the controller to act as a mouse. Everything works dandy outside of GameEx. When I launch a PC game within GameEx, the problem arises. Using the command line I'll supply later, Xpadder launches and loads up the profile. However, the game will not launch unless I close Xpadder. I just can't figure this one out. If I can get it to work, I wanna use xpadder for VPinMAME too, so I'm hoping this is all something simple I'm missing here. I noticed another thread where the user ended up using a blank profile to run all the time, but I want xpadder to start and quit only when I want it to as opposed to leaving it running. Any thoughts on what the heck is going wrong here? I tested these command line arguments outide of GameEx also, and they work just great. Here's what I got: LaunchBefore=F:\xpadder\Xpadder.exe windowspc /M LaunchAfter=F:\xpadder\Xpadder.exe /C Thanks for your help! .:EDIT:. If I do as the original poster suggested, it works. Drat! Here's what I had to do: Under Tweaks/Performance, I had to enter my default Xpadder profile: LaunchOnStartupDontWait=F:\xpadder\Xpadder.exe default /M LaunchOnExitDontWait=F:\xpadder\Xpadder.exe /C And in Launch Before/After I just call up the profiles: LaunchBefore=F:\xpadder\Xpadder.exe windowspc /M LaunchAfter=F:\xpadder\Xpadder.exe default /M Wonder why it only works this way?
  19. Agreed. You can always tell which snaps I made myself and which ones Circo made because his are 100% more polished than mine could ever be.
  20. @bknobi: what did you need completed on Flash's theme? I made a ton of other emulator screens and brought it up to damn near 2.0 if you wanted me to upload what I have for you. Are there emulators in particular you would like added? I'd be happy to do it for you. It's a V4 theme though so there aren't popup descriptions, although it does take advantage of new features (weather icon and scrolling text with emulator descriptions). @KustomKid: does your board support dual channel memory? That would probably solve your bottlenecking issue. All you need to do is use two sticks of RAM that are the same size/brand and it will runn 100% better. Since I bought a GSkill DDR3 dual channel kit I haven't seen so much as a hiccup (I was amazed at the difference it made in my rig).
  21. I'll try this on one of my emus that uses a MAP file and get back at ya. Hold on. Not a problem on my machine. Sorry.
  22. Thanks Tom for the update! Gonna do it now. .:EDIT:. Crap. I hit ESC to exit Attract Mode and I got stuck on a .NET error I couldn't exit out of. I then had to turn off my computer manually, and now the monitor won't come back on. Hmm... .:EDIT#2:. Mental note... It's important to make sure your fan is firmly connected to your CPU. *D'oh!*
  23. Plans for an Android port?
  24. Mine was crashing during the attract mode too, but this bug fix Tom put out today completely fixed my problem too. You may be OK to re-upgrade your drivers, I think this may have been a GameEx problem not a driver problem.
  25. Don't forget the quotes though: SendKeys="%{ENTER}" That's the command I use for Handy and it seems to need the quotes to send these commands together instead of sending them individually.
