  1. Then you are talking Feature Request as what you are wanting is a variant of what I have asked for before.
  2. Font colors are within the Theme Editor via Edit>Options, Fonts tab.
  3. I am not aware of any issues with the PS3 controller. Are you using any mapping software (Joy2Key, Zpadder, etc.) to calibrate it? Also, what OS are you using?
  4. I moved this series of posts to the pinned User Submitted Translations, Plug-ins... thread for ease of locating later. Thanks, Frazman for the contribution! We have quite a few GameBase users that will probably make good use of your plugin!
  5. I do not use that emulator as of yet so can't answer for you, but do want to know if you checked in the FBA Forum to see if the program supports such a function?
  6. We'll be glad to help you out,. but as you are aware, there is no tutorial. Much of what we have learned is trial & error. You will have to pick up a few tools along the way - either Photoshop or its free alternative GIMP to do much of your editing (there are quite a few good forums for helping you to learn how to use them to create unique backgrounds and effects). The Theme Editor proper is more for object placement than a full-on skinning tool. To that end, this thread is more or less dedicated to showing our stuff and helping others learn as well. The best thing you can do is open the Default theme in Theme Editor so you can familiarize yourself with the various elements as they appear in GameEx, try manipulating them.
  7. You may want to take a look at FAAST as this appears to be program that allows one to map motions to commands, etc. for games not originally intended to use the Kinect. Also, NIGameController which does similar. I would imagine that now that the SDKs are out and official support is available, we will see an explosion of software interfaces for use with all sorts of programs.
  8. That's a no-brainer... FIX THE TRON!
  9. I moved this topic to the Social Club forum as the discussion is less directly related to GameEx proper. Requests for enhanced GameEx capabilities to take advantage fot his controller can be submitted to the Pinned & Hot Topics forum under Feature & Enhancement Requests.
  10. You can mask a putty colored monitor and paint it black. If it is going to be behind glass, painting over the controls won't matter much.
  11. Have you considered installing a spinner that allows for a smaller Steering Wheel attachment to it when needed? Check some of our theme competition sponsor sites as some of them carry these.
  12. The second solution will work regardless of if you are using Custom Menus. That is because the setting in Theme Editor was overriding the setting in Setup Wizard. Glad you got it working as you needed!
  13. Would be cool to have the additional options!
  14. Yeah I am.. LOL! Seriously it is a pretty cool app. One thing I would like to see is an option that shows multiple album covers if a track is on more than one to give the end user the choice. For example, pick any popular song by Pink Floyd. Some will show up under the original cover art, while others on "Best of.." and other similar compilations. I prefer the original cover and being able to select from that as opposed to the rest. Some artists songs are released under their own album but may show up as part of a TV/Movie soundtrack album. Having the ability to select which one you want for your collection would be a great function addition if at all possible (for the standalone .exe and within iMagic).
  15. Sometimes it is a matter of clearing your temporary internet files, closing your browser then opening it back to the page to see if it updates.
  16. Awesome app, Adultery! I can think of quite a few uses!
  17. You may have to modify the theme you are using if it is still showing after you disable via Display Title Text (under the Display Settings) within Setup Wizard. Check Setup Wizard first and make sure that Display Title Text is set to No. Restart GameEx. If that resolves the issue, then no need to modify the theme. If that does not resolve the Title text display, then open your theme via Theme Editor. Click on Edit, then Options. Next, click on the Settings tab and uncheck Display Title Text. Click OK, then save your theme. Let us know if either/both of these work.
  18. Not a problem. There is a lot about this hobby so no need to apologize for not knowing. Front ends (GameEx, MaLa, HyperSpin, etc.) are kind of what you might think of as the local mall - a central gathering place of different stores (your emulators) and their products (ROMS, Images, etc.). Before you can sell widgets at the mall, you have to have a fully stocked & operational Widgets-R-Us. You are still stocking your store and configuring it to operate correctly. Just ask lots of questions, take notes. We are here to share and help!
  19. Looks like you copied your log.txt file again. If you haven't set up you file paths in MAME, then you have some work ahead of you. Since GameEX is a Front End, it doesn't control your emulator. It is imperative that you setup the paths for your ROMS, Snaps, etc. within each emulator you care to run through GameEx from within each emulator outside of GameEx. Generally, you will want to setup MAME to run alone. Once you have it running and playing your ROMS via the emulator, you will then need to setup GameEx as previously noted.
  20. If you wouldn't mind posting the contents of your gamee.ini file. You will find it under \gameex\config . You can zip the file and attach it to your response. Thanks! Just from reviewing the log file, I would suggest going through the MAME section of the Setup Wizard and setting the paths for the items showing missing in the log file. You will need to make sure that you have setup the paths in MAME first so that both MAME and GameEx are looking for the same files in the same locations.
  21. You might need to ensure that your applications are set to run as admin and that should help with some of the issues. I pretty much do this by default when installing new programs or reinstalling existing ones.
  22. Do you keep your machine on 24/7? Sometimes a driver or .dll will get a bit wonky and a reboot resolves the issue.

    WHAT?!

I know it is kinda sad that the web site does not function right, etc., but, coming from a tech and customer service background, the behaviour you are expressing kinda makes you sound like a douche. As frustrating as some of the offshore support can be, and trust me, I have to deal with them a lot, they are people doing their best within the scope of the job they have to perform.

    Kiosk mode

There are several ways to do this. One might be to enable multiple logons. You could assign them their own logon, complete with a simplified theme and limited menu options (removing change view, shut down, etc. from their access). The logons can be password protected so that they do not get into yours with your custom settings. Disabling features such as change view, etc. take place within the Setup Wizard.
  25. Have you run audits in MAME for your ROMS? What version of MAME are you running and are your ROMS updated to that version?
