  1. Is this happening both within and outside of GameEx?
  2. Adultery is correct. The setting you select is retained even though it does not display in the Setup Wizard.I had originally gone back and responded to that but in my exuberance of being right did not save my response.. so much for being right!
  3. Mark this down - I was right! Who's your daddy? <insert Church Lady's Superior Dance dance here> Glad this is fixed for you! Will go ahead and mark this topic as resolved!
  4. I actually use GIMP as my image editor of choice, although Adultery keeps trying to drag me over to the dark side known as Adobe. Google has been my best friend so far as finding decent scripts, patterns, and overlays for my theming needs. I usually save my stuff twice - once as an .xcf file (The GIMP equivalent of a .psd) and .psd file). I like the use of patterns and overlays (what's the difference - patterns are usually laid atop something whereas an overlay resides on top - HOWEVER, if you are using .xcf or .psd and depending on the transparency of the layer containing the pattern, you can make an overlay a pattern and a pattern an overlay! That would not be bad, however, when I think of Rassilon, my thoughts go more to Gallifrey and less with the tardis. I believe I did use the tardis - brakes on - for one of my earlier themes starts.
  5. Seems everyone is focused on the GameEx.ini file. I have a hunch, and I have been known to be wrong before. @gamepimp aka Corey - try copying the SetupWizard_en.xml file from your laptop to your arcade PC (found under the \gameex\config\ path). Also verify that you have full rights to your program paths on that machine.
  6. They are OK, but Jon Pertwee was my first Doctor when I started watching in the early 70's.
  7. Don't get me started on Matt Smith (he needed to stay in the Pandorica longer... he came out half-baked). Outside of Jon Pertwee, the best Doctors have been Eccleston and Tennant by far. A Doctor Who theme would be cool. I have played around with idea a bit. My image ideas would be Doctor-Neutral and center more around the Tardis.
  8. Please provide a copy of your gameex.ini file. Thanks!
  9. LOL! When I hear the word "Sonic'd" I conjure thoughts of joining the "Light-Year High Club" in a twirling blue box with one of the Doctor's companions and, well.. you know where this leads besides way off topic! I have only recently (last few themes and logo packs) begun to really appreciate the uses of the PSDs. Glad you have found them useful! I look forward to seeing the theme in action!
  10. Could you make it an optional, selectable feature? If there is benefit (speed, etc.) in having it preserve a copy, some may prefer it if space is not an issue.
  11. @Tom - Can the Karaoke be setup with an option to "Launch After" like the emulators? That way, the end user could create and run a simple batch file to delete the files from the path if they choose to do so when space is at a premium?
  12. True enough. Similar to my love of emulation. She understands why I like it but not why I spend so much more time tweeking things here and there and less playing. Of course, when Santa delivers my present in a week or two, I will hopefully start to reverse that trend.... nah! Who am I kidding!
  13. Even one hacked from a gaming keyboard? Would be sweet to enable such a capability then! To be able to connect a simple usb powered LCD with no bells and whistles and price to go with would be awesome!
  14. I am using the latest Shark007 codecs with the Win 7 x64 pack addition so won't be of much help.
  15. Thanks, Starbuck. It is only a hunch and maybe not valid, but should it work fine without all the rest (emulators, etc.) it will be a small step in the right direction.
  16. What do these two systems have in common? Is the install of GameEx on the work PC and install from scratch of everything you have from your home system? Or is it a direct copy? Can you try installing on your work PC GameEx as a completely fresh installation without all the emulators, your settings from your home PC, etc. and just install the Karaoke files for testing purposes?
  17. Worth giving it a go again. Did you see the link for Pachou's Corner for another MCE Theme Editor?
  18. Are you using Windows buitl-in ZIP or another software for opening/reading within ZIP files on either machine?
  19. Sorry, I am kickin' it old skool - when I am done playing, I click Shut Down. PC shuts down. When I want to play again - I hit the power button. The more steps you build between points A and B the more likely you are to have a break and will exponentially add to your frustration troubleshooting through each one to find the culprit (kind of like government).
  20. I will have to give it another go. Itried the workaround once and could not get the program to work. I also have concerns about using it as it seems that MS always breaks it with their updates and, since nobody is currently supporting it for any patches, I find it hard to commit to it.
  21. Does sound li ean interesting re-use of that LCD. When you look at monitor settings, does it show as a monitor? What about under device settings? I had posed a question quite a few months ago regarding some of the USB powered 7" and 10" monitors and the consensus was that GameEx should recognize it so long as it shows as a monitor.
  22. Welcome to the forums! This is not possible as the LCD (GamePanel) would need to be recognized as a Monitor in order to use, say, GameExtender (Registered feature) and even that only displays still images from the emus and not WMP playlist items.
  23. Go to the link in my sig Emulators, Suggested Command Lines, and MAP Files as this will have most of what you need to setup in GameEx with the various emulators.
  24. I know this is totally off topic but have you heard anything about whether or not someone is going to pick up where the author left off with the Media Center Studio software for modifying MCE?
