I don't know about a fold-up CP, but, if you search the web, you can probably find plans for a modular CP that you can modify. Also, since you have the Xarcade Dual, you can modify your plans to where deck can be removed when not in use.

Are you having the problem outside of GameEx or just when running MAME via GameEx? Also, you didn't indicate if you uploaded from one version of MAME to another. If you upgraded from 0.108 to 0.146, then you have all sorts of stuff to due to get your ROMs right and working with the new version. As Alpha said, make sure you have it working right via MAME outside of GameEx. If not, while we may be able to assist in some way, our focus is making sure things are working right when you use the GameEx frontend.

No. Only through Change View and that would be overridden by whatever video snaps you may have for certain ROMs or background images.

I believe you are referring to the "Now playing / Next" feed that appears at the top. THere is no means of manipulating the placement or attributes. I know that this has been requested at some point, but you may want to submit a feature request just the same as it is something that I feel should be user controlled via Theme Editor. Image2 is going to show items in the following order (to my best recollection): 3D Cabinet if present, cabinet, marquee, title, flyer. There is limited control of showing some of the items in the menu to be found via the Setup Wizard under Enable / Disable Features.

My wife is a great person but not overly enthusiastic about the "other woman" aka "arcade stuff" all the time. But she knows I am and that eventually I will need to build something. I have settled for an HTPC setup and will likely use Rec Room Masters version of a cocktail cabinet. The dimensions are great: Dimensions: 25.5" W x 30" D x 30" H (As Table) or 46" H (With Monitor Upright) Cabinet Inside: 14.5" W x 23.75" D x 29.5" H Weight: 86 lbs 3/4" black melamine C&C cut & manufactured Black T-Mold and black hardware I already have a Tankstick, have a monitor to put in the frame as my second monitor, and will need to purchase some 1080p goodness to wall mount above. I will likely mod the base of the cab for mobility (casters) as well as remove the door and extend the shelf area for console and HTPC storage.

Here is a taste of some of the new logos I have been working on as of late in addition to the new theme.Some will look familiar from posts prior to the new year. I had decided to rework a few and cleanup others. I hope to have this logo pack complete and will release it along with my new theme and as a separate download.

I would suggest looking at the Build Your Own Arcade Controls forum as there are quite a few ideas/plans for the DIYer. You may also want to consider the Xtension Arcade kits which are also fairly popular. reasonably priced, and scaled for the X-Arcade Dual and Tankstick.

I "thickened" the bar a little and removed the blue and kept the amber glow with green chase cursor. IMO it looks much improved over the first attempt and is a little less busy that changing from blue to amber with the chase cursor.

For those of you interested in running a browser that has more of that "10 Ft" feel than IE or Firefox, you might want to give Hillcrest Labs' Kylo Browser a try. It is compatible with both Windows and Mac and integrates well with Windows Media Center.

You may also want to submit your gameex.ini file so we can see your attract settings. It is possible that some of the ROMs attract mode attempts to load are not working ROMs.

It will be the log.txt file located under \gameex\log path.

The official Atari 7800 logo was a departure from the stylings of the Atari 2600 and 5200 in that the "Atari" and "7800" were in the same horizontal plane.

The problem is with GameEx itself and the way it "scales" the selector bars so I will need to continue to play with the dimensions. I will keep the amber and the reason is that it offers better contrast to the blue LCD text than the blue.

The scrolling "Now Playing" line cannot be removed so far as I am aware.

OK, I toned it down just a bit by applying 70% opacity to the selector bar images. It is actually better in reality than the video shows...

I read a little about Ruby from the website and I could actually follow some of the simple examples without knowing much about any programming language.

I have created more busy and detailed themes in the past and found that, as my interests were leaning more towards an HTPC "big screen" view, that I wanted to be able to have that kind of view that looks good on the desktop as well as from a distance. Lots of detail that would look great sitting or standing in front of a monitor is fine. Those same details at a distance of 10', however, are wasted IMO. Hence the emphasis on simplicity and larger, legible fonts. Adultery asked if I could create a graphic for his Visual Pinball Configuration plugin and, after toying with the LCD fonts for that, decided I would look into something similar from a theme perspective. Blue, being my favorite color, was a no-brainer, and the coolness of the blue neon-like affects are pleasing to the eye.

I have to agree with null on this as well regarding Java. Java can be a bit of a bad dog in the browser environment for apps designed around it. I have seen too many times where a web-based application was upgraded and dependent upon a new version of Java and would crash other apps that were opened in a tabbed browser environment that were not compatible with the latest java version. The only workaround, if you are lucky, is to open a separate browser instance and run the apps separately instead of a tabbed browser instance - thus defeating the purpose of a single browser instance. I say only as many companies will only support one browser (usually IE). In those that will allow installing Firefox or Chrome, then that will often work better.
