WHAT?! When did this happen? Now I'm sad.

You know what's really interesting? Now that Disney has announced that any and all expanded universe is all fanfiction and will not have anything to do with future movies, that means they CAN'T have Han and Leia get married. It was so evident in the existing movies that they love each other and of course were destined to become married. But now they can't because of their announcement. Will be interesting to see how this pans out. In fact, I suspect Han gets killed. Harrison Ford is sick of the franchise anyway and didn't want to have any more to do with it. The plan was for him to get killed off in Episode 5, but they brought him back. So they may just give him his wish, and that will remove the "foot in mouth" position they've put themselves in.

Yeah the 2 channels they have for my neighborhood I never saw. They were in the mid 80's and I was just a kid, so they were always shown while I was till in bed. Pretty neat!

To the video... queue Darth Vader "NNNNNooooooooo!" Ok I really hate that line, it totally destroys everything I feel about Darth Vader. Not only did they have that in Episode 3, but then they were so lazy and just cut&pasted it right over the part in Episode 6 when he goes to throw the Emperor over the railing. I mean come on. To the Leia. That's fake. It's her Empire Strikes Back face pasted on somebody elses body, with a little photoshopped gray hair. Lame. About George Lucas.. I'm probably the only one here who feels this way, but I'm kinda surprised by this. I agree with a lot of the people in the comments saying George nearly killed the franchise with Episodes 1 through 3. However, he is still the creator. I don't think it's right or proper to tell him thanks and then shove him in a closet somewhere while somebody else takes over. George spent years building up a massive story, complete with backstories and future stories. Everything created that wasn't in a movie was all approved and laid out with George's input. Then all of sudden somebody comes along and decides George doesn't know what he's doing, that he's going senile, and just make up their own story that completely rewrites 30 years of Expanded Universe. I hate that. I hate all of it. Granted, I'm not a Lucas fanboy or anything, but I do love Star Wars, and I really feel like the direction things are going, it's about to get killed and buried and forgotten. Lets not forget that when Episode 4 was about to be made, Lucas TRIED to sell it to Disney but they said NO, so he went to 20th Century Fox. To me, that says Disney had their chance.

You know I had to create this thread. Personally I have mixed feelings about the new movie. I really want it to be rock solid, but I have major fears. I just don't want to get my hopes up and be totally smashed, so I'm being cautiously optimistic. My biggest fear is the fact that the director (JJ Abrams) has told everybody that the new movie completely throws out the window all of the 30+ years of expanded universe plot and rewrites history. The problem with that is that each and every new plot and story idea to come out was personally overseen and approved by George Lucas. So in my eyes, the expanded universe IS George Lucas' vision going forward. So now that we have this guy come in and make a new movie, it's all down the crapper. Then again, you have to realize he's just the director, and not responsible for WRITING the story. But for him to be doing this just further drives home the fear, much like the Star Trek reboot. Everything was fine and good, and it was an excellent view of Cadet times with just some fancy special effects. Then all of a sudden he decides to blow up Vulcan and completely rewrite Star Trek into an alternate time line. So to me, it looks like JJ loves screwing up pre-existing culture. But like I said, he didn't write it, just told the actors how to act and told the camera guy where to point his lens. As for the new comics. I was very weary of the idea of Marvel taking over the Star Wars universe. In part because Marvel had their shot in the early 80's and completely ruined it. Also, Dark Horse has had it for over 2 decades and was doing FINE with it. But since Disney now owns Marvel AND Star Wars, it just makes sense. Now that the books have been in circulation for a few months, I gotta say I was pleasantly surprised and really like them. The stories are solid and the artwork is on par if not better in some cases to that of Dark Horse's. They aren't diving into things like The Old Republic or things in way in the future as yet (if they will at all), and everything is pretty much taking place right between episode 4 and 5 right now. There is currently a Star Wars book, Darth Vader, Princess Leia, and Kanan (which talks about the Star Wars Rebels character Kanan when he was a padawan). There is also going to be a new book this month focusing on Lando. Good stuff all around as far as I'm concerned. Which brings me to Rebels. I gotta say, I've been a little upset with this. The Clone Wars (by the same company) was great. It was dark, and a lot of mature stories. It looks like Rebels is more kids stuff, and focus's on a kid. It's too light hearted for me. The last episode or two though really pushed the limit and it looks like it might be getting better. I just really hope they get more exciting and stuff. I've not read any novels recently, as I've been focusing all my reading time on A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones series). It's really kicking my butt. However, before I started reading them I had just finished reading the Heir to the Empire/Thrawn trilogy and really loved it. A great place for new readers to start. I've also not played any games recently. As I said in a previous thread, I pretty much have all and finished all the available games, and am just patiently waiting for the new Battlefront game to come out. If you feel the demul map file is outdated, you can always update it yourself. It's simple task. Edit the map file in Notepad, and add the missing ones. The format is "romfile|romname". I'm not home right now, but if you're still having trouble when I return I can post the one I'm using. I've not updated it in a while, but I do believe it is more up to date than the one that comes with GameEx.

Hey Exed... I've noticed a few times when I go in through RDP on my server and open up PerfectDisk, it's showing an optimization as Paused. Any idea why they would Pause instead of finishing it's task? I think it might have something to do with the settings, but I'm not sure I understand. I think it's this screen that needs "tweaked". These are the default settings. Should I change the first box, so it will run when the Kernel is using more CPU? My thinking is that if the CPU hits a usage higher than the default 40%, it stops it's tasks (since it's setup to run only when idle). Would changing that make the program work under higher stress? I'm also assuming that "User Mode" means when I have the PerfectDisk program open, rather than just the system files running in the background. Is this correct? Also, my StealthPatrol tab doesn't have the MODE Switch. I'm wondering if there is a setting somewhere I have disabled, or not properly configured. It could be just because I have the Home Server version, where you're using Business.

Since I have a modded Xbox360 (shh!) I already have all the Star Wars pinball tables. I also own legit copies of Force Unleashed, Force Unleashed Ultimate Sith Edition, and Force Unleashed 2, also Lego Star Wars 2, Lego Star Wars the Complete Saga, and Lego Star Wars 3 (love Lego Games, I'm only missing Lord of the Rings and Hobbit!). For PC, I own 2 collections (were they called battlechests?). One has all the Dark Force games (1, 2, Jedi Knight, Jedi Academy) and one has all the Space Sim games (Xwing, Tie Fighter, etc). I also own a LucasArts collection which includes both Rebel Assault games, and the RTS Star Wars Rebellion. I never owned it, but my brother gave me his copy of Star Wars Monopoly (each move/spot to buy has it's own cutscene from the movies!). I also bought a few random bits of stuff from the computer shop, namely Star Wars Droids workshop, Star Wars desktop manager (icons, backgrounds, sound effects), Star Wars Episode 1 and Episode 1 Podracer. For the Playstation, I own Star Wars Masters of Teras Kasi and Jedi Power Battles. For the N64 we owned (but sold for like $3) Star Wars Shadows of the Empire. Lastly, I have BOTH online MMORPG's Star Wars Galaxies and Star Wars the Old Republic. Surprisingly, I actually never owned NOR played the Knights of the Old Republic games. I really want to, especially since the MMO takes place after them. I was hoping to get a copy to play on my Xbox360 but it's not backwards compatible. Other than that, I know I'm missing the newer stuff, but I really want to get Star Wars Battlefront, and hope to God it will be released on Xbox360 (I don't have a next/current gen console yet, and my PC probably won't be able to handle it).

I'm going to do a revamp of my GameEx's Pinball setup someday. I have so many files, and everything is all disorganized. The previous method of setting it all up was to just grab everything available, and hope all the paths were setup correctly. I think for my next attempt I'm going to go individual tables, only that method probably will take ages to get setup. What's currently the best avenue to take, or do most people seem to be doing? I've not bothered to setup PinballX, but I really want to. How well does it work along side GameEx..can I easily switch between the 2? Also, I realize PinballX was designed to work with PinCabs (at least that's what all the videos look like).. how well does it work with a desktop/htpc setup? I've not quite got the money together (if I ever will) to invest in building a pincab (even though I really, REALLY want to). But seeing Krack's post about VP, PhysMod, VP X makes me think I'm falling behind on the times, and I need to revisit this. All my pinball playing has been, as previously said, only on my Xbox, and I really want to play some of the great classics.

I wonder if our resident plugin maker could maybe make some kind of automated batch program that allows a user to report a bug automatically. Have it grab the log and ini files, and post them in a special BUG forum (so as to not crowd out the basic self-help area of the forum) and possibly have user input to create the title/body to describe the problem and what they were doing that caused it. Might make things smoother. Just a thought.
