  1. I was about to say the same thing. The problem could have been solved in a later version. There are new methods to exit emulators now, and a different configuration might be required. For instance, there is an exit process, a close window, a close with ALT+F4, etc. You should get a later version (preferably the newest) and experiment to find out which works best for you. In my particular case, I'm using a modified version of "[Mapping Off] Exit (Process Close)" in which I have configured to use a combined keypress on my gamepad to initiate the close.
  2. Yup. Ain't nothing to it, and it's a lot of fun too.
  3. We would really like to encourage more people to play in our competition. It doesn't cost you anything to enter. All you're doing is posting a screenshot of the score you earned. Even if it's not a HIGH score, you can still submit it and get points for our Leaderboard. You just have to play. Everybody's doing that already. Why not add more excitement by competing with your friends here and see who can out play the other? Hope to see you there!
  4. Also, I voted and only picked games I actually heard of. Hehe. Nice to see you figured out how to do multiple choice GC.
  5. Should be noted, these are NOT for the Game of the Month (GOTM). These are just new games to add to the forum that we can just actively participate in like Donkey Kong and Centipede are. The GOTM is still (as of May) Galaga and the June GOTM is still being voted on. EDIT: Lol was typing as question was being asked. Hope I cleared it up.
  6. Thanks again guys. It's always nice to know people care. I came home from work and had about 6 messages on Facebook from people wishing me a happy birthday too. You never know how much you mean to people. Even a simple Happy Birthday goes a long way to make a depression riddled individual such as myself feel acknowledged and worth staying alive. No cake/ice cream/presents though. Part of me knows I'm getting too old for it anyway. But my family isn't very financially secure these days and I understand about not having the money to have parties and stuff. Still, we might end up doing something this weekend. My new step-nephew (stepmom's daughter's son) had a birthday a month or so ago and they went to a place called Dave & Busters. I never been there before, but apparently they got an "arcade" like Chucky Cheeses and my stepmom was bragging about taking me there for MY birthday. We'll just have to wait and see. Could be fun.
  7. Cool. I was always afraid to do public print jobs like replacement DVD covers at a store or something. We have lots of stores like that, Staples, FedEx Kinkos, Public Library, etc. You just walk in, plug your USB with pictures into the printer and print away, then take your stuff up to the cashier and pay for what comes out. The problem with that is people are eyeballing you, curious as to WHY you have these. I have a lot of covers I've needed to print over the last few years to replace those from the fire, and I wouldn't have the guts to try and do it at Staples. They'd sure stop me and ask what I was doing. Like its any of their business; not like I'm not PAYING for it. But I'm glad you got them to print stuff for you and they turned out ok. If you plan on doing a lot of printing, you'd be ahead to buy a nice color laser printer like I did. The toner is a bit expensive (like $90 each color for mine) but you get something like 1200 prints out of it. I still had TONS of toner left in my carts but after the fire they became clogged or misaligned or something and I just got some replacements in. I bought some generics off a guy who no longer needed them, and he had like 8 of them still unopened that he included all for $60 bucks. Couldn't pass that deal up.
  8. Could be. I have a No-Intro set for most things, but I looked and sure enough I have a Good set for 7800. Glad you got it working.
  9. There are different ways to do it. A lot of people create shortcuts to the launching exe's then put all the shortcuts into 1 folder. After that, they build an emulator configuration in GameEx to search from the roms ending in *.lnk. Here is how mine is setup:
  10. Lol you guys are a day early! Today is my mom's birthday... I guess out in the Netherlands where GC is from it might be tomorrow already. I still got 5.5 hours here. Thanks anyway!
  11. Moving along nicely. Got a dent at least.
  12. It doesn't like your rom. Try unzipping it first.
  13. I'm not 100% sure, but I think you need a system BIOS rom for the 7800. Have you tried to run the system outside of GameEx yet? Just launch MESS directly and go to the Atari 7800 section. If it doesn't work, then something is misconfigured in MESS. For my setup, I'm using MESS64.. here is my command line: Mess64.exe a7800 -cart "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]" -joy -now The a7800 part tells mess that the ROM (game) is an Atari 7800 file. Without that bit, MESS won't know what to do and just sit there, or crash, or report unknown ROM format, or something like that.
  14. I would assume so. You can always set it up as an external application, and run it directly from GameEx.

    Plex access

You might have to run them through a transcoder, or re-encode them to a more network friendly format like avi/mpg instead of something like m4v, mp4, mkv, etc. The problem is that with avi/mpg your files are going to be HUGE.. not really worth it if you can find some other alternative.
  16. Yeah I think I need to tweak my mouse settings. It's either too fast or not fast enough. Good score celly! Updating OP now!
  17. Video says it's blocked in my country? EDIT: went to the website. They have a video there. So I don't get it. The guy makes a living refurbishing arcade systems and running them in his own arcade. Then towards the end it look's like he's closing up shop? What gives? He's obviously passionate about the whole thing, why pack everything up and move on? There must be something else happening here we still need to see.
  18. Yeah we even discussed maybe giving the GOTM players a 2x bonus for playing that game. But it was also decided that by giving such an advantage would make somebody new unable to earn the same amount of points even if they were to beat the 1st place score. This way it's all fair. We just need to find something else to honor the GOTM players. Something is in the works, we'll have more details soon!
  19. LOL! That's great. I didn't know they made PCIe to PCI adapters. Looks like it has to be low profile though. Since I had a major crash (my mistake) on my hard drive, I've had the case apart for awhile trying to do some work with the HDD. What I actually have is 1 PCI (tuner) and 2 PCIe (tuner) and the larger PCIe (graphics). I do still need 6 SATA though. I know prices have come down, they always do. I'll just have to start saving up. In the long run, I know it's good to upgrade, even if it's just to get fresh equipment into the case because things break down over time. However, I can't really justify going out and upgrading for the simple fact of wanting to be able to play PlayStation 2 games.
  20. I was really amazed how easily and quickly the whole restore process went. Once it detected the alternate drivers on the USB, it was very quick to move on to the next screens and start the restore. And with my gigabit NIC on this computer, the server, and a gigabit router, the whole restore took only about 20 minutes for 50gb of data. I did have to go back and rename my server again since all my shortcuts and links were associated to the old name. But that was a simple fix. Now it's like I never left! Only problem I'm going to face now though is the fact that I'm still 1 drive short on my server, and I only have about 23gb free space remaining on it. That means I can't do anymore backups until I get a replacement drive. So now I'm back to square one as far as trying to get the RMA process started. But I feel so much better and relieved that it's all said and done and I can now go on with where I left off. I think when it's time to try and wipe this drive again, I'm going to just unplug all my other hard drives and just use this one drive during the wipe so there's no possible way of screwing up again.
  21. I've always used Fusion. Works great!
  22. Some people have all the talent.
  23. Woot! I'm back! Somebody was finally nice enough to take the time to reply to my problem over at the Microsoft Support Forums. Turns out I needed to get a copy of the NIC drivers but for the 32 bit Vista version. Kinda weird that's all it needed but it did the trick. Just put them on a usb jump drive and everything started working brilliantly. I still need to do some checking to make sure but in a quick glance it looked like it was a 100% success. I take back everything negative I ever said about WHS.
