  2. Welcome to group Emma! Glad to have you aboard. Enjoy your stay!
  3. Hey, I just wanted to make public my apologies for being scarce around here for the last week or so. I had a major return of my diverticulitis and was in the hospital for 3 days. It started as the usual cramps, but it got really bad, with the bloody stool again, and I went to the hospital emergency room cause I was scared and concerned that MAYBE it wasn't what they said it was. Since it was my 3rd time in the ER this year for this reoccurring problem, they decided to keep me for observations. While I felt fine everywhere else, they were concerned about my lack of appetite and loss of fluids. I tried telling them my appetite was gone because of the pain in my gut, and I didn't really want to eat the food they were offering me. So anyway, after a few days in a room, they just decided to let me go. I haven't gotten the bill yet, but I imagine it'll be huge. Luckily, the last time I went to the ER I was able to fill out a patient assistance form for coverage since I only work part time. Far as I know, it should all be covered by that. Anyway, when I returned home, the place I work at was more concerned about their coverage than they were about my health. So the next day after I got home, I got a call saying somebody called off, and they needed help. They offered me 3 10-hour days. I don't know if it was because they really wanted me, or if they were trying to "be nice" like they said to help pay the hospital bill. All I know is that I was at work, and they didn't really need me, and it was a waste of time. But that being said, my paycheck should be half way decent. The bad/down side to all this is that they still are 'undetermined' about what my cramping stuff is. Apparently they did some tests with the MRI and said there was no obvious indication that diverticulitis was in fact the cause. They assured me though that it wasn't cancer or a tumor or anything like that. I told them I had a colonoscopy back in February because of all this, but that the doctor saw nothing wrong. The only thing I can figure is that I must have eaten something that caused a weird reaction in my intestines that makes it clench and contract unnaturally, like having hiccups. I'm keeping a food diet now to try and see if I can identify the culprit. ANYWAY I haven't been much help here in the Hi-Score board because of all this. Haven't really felt like getting on the forums to do much of anything rather than lurk and see what's going on. Hopefully now that I'm starting to feel better again, I'll be around a lot more. I wanted to create this post to express my regrets and apologies for not being around as much as I was.
  4. Nice work as always! Thanks Flash and Tom!
  5. Uh-oh! My score is in jeopardy! I better start playing this some more.
  6. Yeah, won't be long before somebody at vpforums remakes it.
  7. Got an email from StarTrek.com today (a nice daily email about whats going on in the great Star Trek Universe). Anyway, one of the topics was a special First Look at the latest Pinball Table from Stern! Check it out! http://www.startrek.com/article/first-look-star-trek-pinball-machine
  8. "I am the great mighty poo and I'm going to throw my $#!T at you.."
  9. I never even heard of this game before. But back in the day when I played Nintendo, it was at a friends house, and he only had like 5 games for it, mostly Mario, so we didn't do much else. Game looks fun though.
  10. I've got both. VP would be where you want to go if you want to emulate true/existing pinball tables. FP is nice if you want high quality detail in made-up tables.
  11. Yeah it's a hard score to beat, that's for sure. I hope to get some time this week to be able to post a high score. Been really busy with work and stuff.
  12. LOL! You had to Google her? I google her all the time, just not in the same way. Seriously though, she's been in a lot of great stuff. She had a cameo on one episode of Big Bang Theory, and was also on Firefly, Dollhouse, Alphas. All of those were cancelled before their time too. Dollhouse will make you fall in love with Eliza Dushku if you weren't already.
  13. Hopefully you didn't stop and take a smoke break midway during the move. When my brother and I helped my mom move, he was taking a 2-cig smoke break during every car trip, and took one after lugging up the hide-a-bed. I just sat back and enjoyed the money saving.
  14. Don't waste your time. It ends in a helluva cliff hanger enough to make you want to stop watching TV forever. Although you can't argue, Summer Glau is hot stuff.
  15. Sounds a lot like the strategy I found when I got my high score. Thanks for sharing!
  16. It'll be a good one for sure. Hopefully we'll get more participation this month. Last month's game (Arkanoid) had the unfortunate down side of control. Some people don't have spinners or trackballs on their cabs which made it a bit more difficult for people to actually play it. Even those of us (like me) who don't have cabs but play on the computer were stuck behind a sensitivity issue with the mouse. Maybe we should make it a rule that future GOTM's should be strictly standard joystick games. That would rule out needing to have spinners (Arkanoid, Tempest [sorry Tempest!], etc) or trackballs (Like Bowling, Golf, etc) or steering wheels/pedals (Racing Games) or Rudders (ala Star Wars). It will dramatically decrease the amount of games we can play, but on the other hand I think it will dramatically increase the amount of participation. We can still have those games as regulars, but with people competing to get the GOTM badge, I think it's only fair.

Heh I was about to say the same thing Adultery. It's sad to think where our world is going. I had this posted on my facebook a few days ago:

  19. And the winner is...... TEMPEST with his unbeatable score of 105,480! Way to go! GimmeClassics should be in communications with you shortly with your signature badge. Wear it proudly my friend, you earned it! As for the rest of us, this game's not over yet. Tempest may have won the GOTM competition, but the game is still here. You can still play and submit a score to be included in your ever growing conquest of our Overall Leaderboard! (link) So keep those scores coming in, and join me in congratulating our newest GOTM winner inductee! (link)
  20. Ah hah! Now we know what you look like! In all seriousness though, it can be tough for some people. It depends on how addicted to smoking you were. For me, I smoked Marlboro Lights, like 2 cigarettes a day, that was it. So when I finally realized I could save myself an extra $5 bucks by quitting, I just quit, cold turkey. It wasn't that hard for me. My dad, who re-started up smoking when I first started, was a lot more difficult. He doesn't work, so most of his day is just sitting around doing nothing. He would smoke about a pack of cigarettes every 2 days, and also smoke a pipe. But he was ALWAYS doing it, whereas I was only doing it on break at work, and then right before bed. Dad tried to quit when I did, but was having trouble. He talked with the doctor, and got a prescription for Chantix. That broke his addiction and he's clean now. Some people can have the will power to just up and quit like I did, but I had the help of not really being truly addicted. Other people, like Dad, need a little more help. I'm sure what you're going through (withdrawl, etc) is rough. It's not going to be easy. Just keep at it and do whatever you can to stop the urges. Chew gum, suck on hard candy, whatever it takes. You'll get there eventually!
  21. Yeah I know, I used to be a lot better at this game when I was a kid. My old age (33) is creeping up on me.

    MEEEOW!

There's gotta be more to it. Something I'm missing.
