Another step in the right direction! Thanks Tom and Adultery!

Probably PC only huh? If it were PS4 or XB1 I might just be more interested.. Can't afford a new system upgrade to play.

I read that somewhere in Texas they just launched Gigabit internet...

I don't know what mine is exactly. We have a bundled service (supposed to be cheaper that way ). Last months bill was $169. Includes Digital Cable, Digital Phone, and Internet. I suppose if you divide that by 3, you would get ~ $57. That's a lot more than your 39. But the way they divide it, we're probably paying 70% on the internet. And the worst part.. we PAY for the lowest speed (10mb) and only get 2.2mb. We're not even getting what we pay for. And recently, our modem has been "hanging up" with the server, causing everything to shut down while it attempts to reconnect. Our phone goes through the modem, so when it's down, we can't even call Time Warner to complain.

I wish I could run games like that in a high-def environment with enhancements. I'm just glad I can now at least play 1:1 res fairly well with the games I've tried. I still want to get my vibration to work though. Something I'm considering to attempt is removing my primary controller (Saitek P2500) before loading the emulator up. I noticed when in the pad configuring, it detected the force feed back to the Saitek but not the official PS2 controller. So I'm thinking if I remove that, maybe it will work. I dunno. I'm not able to really mess with it now (been sick for a while) but it's definately going to be the next thing I try.

Forced myself to work today. Sinus's are a running bathtub faucet, and I'm still not producing anything from my cough (although it is definately rattling and loose now). Bit of a headache today, probably from the stress of work compounding the pre-existing sinus issues. Fever is gone (for good I hope). I took the last day's worth of antibiotics this morning too, so all that's left for me is OTC stuff. Followup still on Tuesday.

Thats gonna suck if the Netflix API will no longer be available. I don't use it in GameEx, but do heavily with Media Center. While the experience is lacking tremendoulsy, it is still way better than getting infront of a computer screen to pick what you want to watch when you can do it from your bed/couch. With the API completely leaving, that will cut off all outside access to their content and limit everything to just inhouse "browser" selecting won't it? What about things like BluRay Players, Xbox, Playstation, etc. How will that all work out if the API is gone? Yet another nail in Netflix's coffin I'm afraid.

Woot. Of course, Forum Registrations doesn't mean GameEx registrations. I wonder how many people Tom has actually got officially there. Still, 10k is a milestone for any forum. Especially since this isn't a very public/advertised site and only has a niche market. Way to go, and welcome everybody!

Its a struggle for sure. And I know all about migraines. I've told my doctor that I get them very frequently, 2-3 times a week and sometimes last for days. He hasn't been able to diagnose it much because I don't have them when the tests happen. I went in for an MRI (or CT, not sure which) and the results were negative. I didn't have a headache at the time, so duh. But yeah, I get them so bad I can't open my eyes. I spent a few hours one time with my body in the empty bathtub, lights out, and my forehead smashed against the tub because it was cool to the touch. I've also tried things like pressure by taking a waist belt and straping it against my forehead nice and tight. Of course, nothing really helped except taking a bucket full of Ibuprofen, Tylenol, or Asprin. I used to take 4 Excedrin Migraine pills at once, then wait 45 minutes for the effect to start, just to have the headache back in about 20 minutes. I did have a doctor when I was a teen who prescribed something called Midrin which seemed to help. But by the time my Rx ran out, I had a new doctor, and he said they don't make it anymore. Now I guess they do again, but it's called something different/similar, and he won't prescribe it until he has proof positive I actually suffer from migraines and not just frequent headaches. Anyway, news update. My fever is down to around 100 now. My cough is really bad now, lots of broken up bits vibrating around in my lungs when I breathe. Unfortunately, they're not coagulated enough to cough up and out yet. My appetite is returning a little, but I couldn't eat a full on meal. More fluids are going down. Now if I can just break that last few degrees of the fever, and maybe get my body to stop feeling so painful, I'll be back up to my usual 75%.

Heh funny you should mention Doctor Who. I've been watching from the first episode (1963) and I do actually enjoy it. I'm up to about episode 14 now. I'm not really feeling Star Trek today, but I did watch 2 eps lastnight. I also decided to try and watch the extended Lord of the Rings trilogy. The fellowship is still in Moria. I started watching it and rolled over to fall asleep twice. Can't get out of there. Thanks for the kind words guys.

Gues what? Now I (may) have Pnuemonia. I was supposed to go in for a physical yesterday for work. I've been ill since around Friday. Went in, and the nurse checked my vitals. The first shock: 102 degree fever. My body is so sore, and I'm feeling like I'm freezing. Fingertips and toes are numb. No appetite at all, haven't eaten anything in 2 days, and only drank a total of about 8oz of water in 2 days too. My nose is completely clogged up, my eyes are dry and itchy, my throat is sore, and I have a nasty painful (unproductive) cough. When I went to update my friends on Facebook, the fever was then at 102.3 degrees. As of about 5 minutes ago though, it's down to 101.8 degrees so it might be dropping. I just wanted to alert all my friends here so you don't begin to worry about where I've been. Hopefully I'll start feeling better soon since I'm on the z-pack (azithromycin) antibiotic. At least I hope I don't get worse.

Wing Commander III - Heart of the Tiger free via Origin
hansolo77 replied to Draco1962's topic in Social Club
I just threw my original disc copy away last month because we found it in the bottom of a box that we saved from the fire. It was all burned up and had ash all over it, and the one CD was cracked. This was a good game. Wouldn't mind playing it again, but I don't have Origin, and don't really wanna sign up for it just to get that. When this game was out, I was hoping the Wing Commander movie would be a tie in with the same special makeup effects. I was wrong. No Mark Hamil (Luke Skywalker), no Thomas F. Wilson (Biff from BttF), no Malcom McDowel (bad guy in Star Trek Generations), no John Rhys-Davies (Gimly), no Ginger Lynn (porn princess), and no really cool Hobbes makeup. Instead we get 2 guys from ScoobyDoo, and a piss-poor story. -
Update.. Might still be in discussions, but it looks like unregistered GameEx users have been eliminated from having upload capabilities. You can still submit scores though, you'll just have to post on a 3rd party website (dropbox, imageshack, photobucket, etc) and link the image here. Another thing you can do is register your name with the GameEx Online feature, Draco says that will work as well.

Believe it or not, this very topic is currently being discussed in the VIP forum. The forums are being upgraded and new user groups are being created. There may be a glitch somewhere having to do with your user group. It's being investigated. That being said, I think the HS team agrees with me that we will have to postpone accepting scores until such a time that this issue is resolved so we can visually confirm the scores posted are legit. Of course, if you can post score images, we'll still accept those! Thanks everybody for your patience!

I'm still in shock about this. But I guess a lot of comedians really are deeply depressed. You'll be missed. Mork Popeye Peter Pan The Genie Mrs. Doubtfire

This brought up an interesting issue I'm having. My manuals aren't working either, but they always did in the past. What is Ghostscript? I think I remember hearing about it when manuals were first introduced. Maybe some overwrote some settings and now they don't work.

Also, try running the runitgame.bat with pause added to see if what error (if any) you may be getting.
-
Are those .lnk files in your C:\Users\CP\Documents\PC Games path? If not, put them there! Also, you should have your Working Path be that path too.

Lol which is the default? I've changed all my settings so much I don't know which one to use.

Which pad plugin works best with a 360 controller, just for future reference?
-
Not exactly.. its the same see-thru blue color, but thats about it. Mine only has 1 input. The more I play these emulators, the more it seems like the Xbox360 controller is THE controller to get instead of using all these others. And I like the way the 360 feels too. I wonder how much they cost. Would it be cheaper to get a 360 wireless adapter or just a wired USB controller? How can you run at 1000x1000 res! I'm lucky I'm doing the default (I think it's 640x480). You must have a better rig than me. I have a Core2Duo e6600 (2.40 ghz) and 6gb memory with a nVidia GeForce GTS 250 card.

Welcome aboard! I will try to help best I can. The first thing you should do is eliminate where the problem could be. Try running MAME directly and see if you get the ROM to load with it. If MAME loads but the ROM doesn't, the problem is the ROM. If MAME loads the ROM, the problem is with the configuration in GameEx. Experiment a little and see what you can come up with. A handy tool to use is in Start->All Programs->GameEx->Utilities called "Run Last Game". It runs the last command GameEx used to launch the game. That way you don't have to load GameEx up each time you try to troubleshoot. You can look at the contents of that in "C:\GameEx\DATA\runitgame.bat" or change C:\ to whatever drive you installed in, and open runitgame.bat in a notepad to see what it is typing out. You may have something simply mispelled. Try these things and get back to us!

OK heres one for you. I'm using a USB adapter that my original PS2 controller plugs into. There were no drivers to configure. When I configured all 3 drivers in PCSX2, they all work, but the rumble/vibration doesn't. I have another controller that is generic USB (not PS2 or anything) and I can configure IT to use force feedback (rumble/vibration) but it doesn't have enough buttons to work with everything the PS2 controller does. Any ideas what I can do to get it working? Another thing; I tried ICO last night. I remember only being able to play it like 3 times on my PS2 then I kept getting the Disc Read error (because it's a CD-ROM and not DVD). I plugged it in my drive and it played like a dream with no problems. I made a bin/cue of it anyway so I can get better response out of the emulator. However, I also tried to run Devil May Cry, and it's slow as heck. Like 30fps, shots take like 2 seconds each. I remember it was a lot faster on my PS2. Is DMC known to be a system hog?
-
Anybody having trouble launching this game from GameEx? Everytime I try, MAME crashes and I go back to GameEx. If I try to load the game straight up from MAME, it crashes MAME about 80% of the time, other times it works great.
