  1. You're right, the MAME list seems to be completely unaffected. While everything else lags.
  2. All my videos have been the same and I didn't update my codecs. I had been using my GameEx immediately before updating to 14.04 (I forget what version I was on.) and I had zero issues, everything was running perfect. Then when I updated, my GameEx started behaving this way. And its not just games with video snaps that are affected. Games that don't have any snaps will load just as slow as a game with a video snap does. You may not be having the problem Evilforces and I are having if you aren't experiencing these symptoms. Set your video snaps directory for a emulator to nowhere so the game list has no snaps and then run down the list to see if it stutters/lags. That would rule out the videos loading slow.
  3. Has anybody found anything out about this bug? I can't use GameEx until this is fixed, it's too frustrating to navigate.
  4. Happy Birthday man! Thanks for all the work you've put into this hobby!
  5. I've been wanting to do this for a long time, but I just now feel I have everything required to do it. The movie I'm reviewing is called Bleeders or Hemoglobin everywhere outside of the US. I'm still learning about editing but I know the basics. It's just such a bitch to do all the timestamping for bs moments in the movie (which is so many every 30 seconds I'm writing notes). I'd like any advice on what to do/not do while making my videos. I've edited together this trailer to the movie C.H.U.D. with scenes from Bleeders to show how similar both movies are story-wise and I just thought it'd be fun. Let me know what you think.
  6. Nice man, hope you had an amazing time!
  7. That's exactly how my setup works now. MAME videos are fine, but everything else is messed up.
  8. np man lol I just tried what you suggested and it hasn't changed anything and idk what I'm even looking at let alone what to export.
  9. Naw man I only use conditioned pubes, makes the fingers slide around way easier on the keyboard Otherwise the fingers get stuck. And idk what I'm even looking at in the event viewer. :s Its telling me something, but idk.
  10. idk, usually if I person has an issue, chances are somebody else out there has an issue thats the same or similar. and if 2 people have the same or similar issue, chances are many will have issues at least statistically speaking. Doesn't mean every person is going to report the problem though. Maybe 14.04 isn't/hasn't been installed on a lot of peoples systems yet. My problems didn't arise until I updated. But either way I seriously doubt its my settings. Everything was peachy until the exact moment I updated. Just trying to logically deduct possibilities.
  11. So glad I'm not the only one experiencing this issue. That means it's something wrong with GameEx and not me. lol I too noticed my video snaps for my console list (forget the specific name for them) don't lag but as soon as I enter any specific emulator game menu the lag begins.
  12. Turning off 3D Alpha Blend proved fruitless as well.
  13. lol I was, then I had a hard drive failure and had to switch to a 100GB pos and put 7 on there because my 8 disc was bunk. So your memory serves you well. Also I took the liberty of cleaning my system and defragging and optimizing my extHDD still no change.
  14. I'm on windows 7. Not sure if Windows 8.1 codecs apply to me.
  15. Its just dependent on where you get your ROMs. Use something like Fat Match (find it on emumovies) to rename your files in bulk. Nothing about this hobby is easy man. The Emumovies download utility is good but has its flaws. If you use it, it will scan your roms and download the appropriate snaps, basically looks for similar filenames to that of your ROMs, but I've had many games get skipped because my name wasn't close enough or I had a video snap for a completely different game downloaded. Like ClayFighter 2 having the video snap of ClayFighter. Or any sequel of a game that's just the original titles name plus a number.
  16. Yes, the video file has to be the same name as your ROM file. So for say 007 The World is not Enough.n64 your video file needs to be 007 The World is not Enough.avi
  17. Alright, so if someone tells me its my video decoder, I may go insane lol. I had already installed the Shark codecs after a huge headache with my videos before and I've done nothing to it since installing it and I've not installed any new codecs either. But I have some games that have no videos and even those take time to be selected.
  18. I restarted my system and the problem is still there. Even for games that don't have videos it takes like 2 seconds to switch from the game before it goes to the one I chose. I got a video uploading of my problem so you can see it first hand. But for some reason my MAME list appears unaffected. But all my video snaps are the same format. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgW3bY7G5qk&feature=youtu.be
  19. I believe I actually brought up the touch screen function messing with my setup as well at some point. It may need to be something for Tom to look at.
  20. It always seems that just when I get my setup up and running perfect, an update will come up and I'll install it and it breaks my setup in some way or some kinda hardware failure occurs on my machine and I have to start all over again. This time, my Video snaps will take like 1-2 seconds to load from one game to the next (making GameEx feel incredibly sluggish) on any of my game lists, which never happened before. Yes I messed with the tweaks page but again this has never been a problem for me so idk why that would be an issue now, but what do I know. Halp! D: log.txt GameEx.ini
  21. I have a dolphin bar but I also have a couple of x360 controllers that I use for everything including Dolphin. I use the wiimote only for Wii games that specifically require it. But there is a dinput mode you can set your wiimote into and it can be used in anything that uses dinput (which is most emulators). I don't have a classic controller so idk how well it works but stuff like NES works perfectly with just the Wiimote in dinput mode. So yes, you should be able to, it says so in my instructions, but I can't confirm it because I have no classic controller. My 360 controllers are set up for all my emulators (I have over 35 systems installed on my PC) and most emulators don't need to be configured because they have xinput support. There are a couple emulators that have problems like epsxe not registering the triggers, but as Adultery said Xpadder easily remedies this. I personally would use 360 controllers if I were you but I know they're a little pricey for a good new one. Mode 3 on the dolphin bar should enable dinput.
  22. Happy birthday man!
  23. A lot of awesome suggestions here! I'mma have to check em out and thanks for the links.
  24. What DOS games do you guys think are worth playing today? Other than the obvious Doom, Quake, Duke Nukem, Shadow Warrior. They don't have to be FPS games, I'm just sayin those games are obvious. I'm also aware of the Ultima series. I've just gotten into DOS (not as scary as it appears to be) and was wanting to play some classics.
  25. Here's what my capture device looks like. Also watch me rape at guitar hero.
