I run out of buttons on my pinball cab, so I'm playing arround with an Elgata Stream Deck I don't want a key board attached and this device can do a lot of stuff. For adding extra joystick keys, I installed vJoy and assign it to the Stream deck as a button Within Windows, the vJoy is identified and working (see that keypress 4 is working) Setting up in Settings.exe for example a Pause/Ingame to that button, it shows as Joystick2_Button4 : When gogin to the next page (and go back to the previous, it is saved as Joystick1_button4 (but my page/nudge is already assigned to it) Also in the Ini file, the Joycodes is the same numver for pageright and ingame [JoyCodes] quit=6 left=0 right=1 select=5 rotate= pageleft=2 pageright=3 exitemulator=6 ingame=3 instructions=15 launch=4 Credit= Plunger=0 Launching PinballX, it shows that it found 2 joysticks. Is this something I do wrong, or is this a limitation in PinballX ? PinballX.ini log.txt

I will try to setup the same as you has and will reproduce the issue. But it takes some time. I didnt touch my arcade machine for a long time, but hope daphne and the games are on the arcade , so I can put it on my test machine -

Can you post your daphne xml file and your pinballx.ini ? -
I think this is caused, because of the display size (not sure what resolution you have) The app is build as 1227 pixels width and 577 height. Our assumption (well especially my) is that people do all the work (adding/chaning tables) in landscape mode. For myself, I installed team viewer and sit behind my normal work PC (or as Scutter called it : My crappy machine) and do a team viewer session to my cabinet (that is runnign at 4k resolution) Closing PinballX, I run a command that sets the DPI to 150% and display settings to 4k portrait mode. Because when I shutdown the computer and power up again, I see everything from cabinet perspective. When I want to change software on the cab, I rotate my screen 90 degrees, so I can do a team viewer session I normally had 2 shortcuts on my desktop Rotatescreen portrait.cmd @Echo off "C:\Pinball\DisplayTools\DC\dc64cmd.exe" -rotate=right Rotatescreen landscape.cmd @Echo off "C:\Pinball\DisplayTools\DC\dc64cmd.exe" -rotate=up With the latest version of Database manager , we added launch and exits commands. I added the command , so that when I launch database manager (and close it again) , the screen is as I want. For starting and closing PinballX , I use DC2.exe When starting pinball X, I launch a batch file that contains the following : c:\windows\system32\reg.exe import C:\Pinball\DisplayTools\DC2\monitor_100dpi.reg C:\Pinball\DisplayTools\DC2\dc2.exe -configure=C:\Pinball\DisplayTools\DC2\4kdisplay_landscape_60p.xml (I created the XML file when I setup the monitors correctly . The 100DPI, I could not find any tool, so I modify it in the registry) When exiting PinballX: c:\windows\system32\reg.exe import C:\Pinball\DisplayTools\DC2\monitor_150dpi.reg C:\Pinball\DisplayTools\dc\dc64cmd.exe -rotate=right I put my monitor to 150 DPI, because the default texts on a 100DPI on 4k in Windows is not readable (well not for me ...) I hope this make sense for you. If you still want to use it in portrait mode .... I think Scutters and I needs to adjust the size of our application to lower it to the width of the screen ....

Thanks for your feedback. We will try to reproduce it as well. Can you post your databasemanager.ini file and the dimension of the display where you run the program on ?

[RESOLVED] pinballX disabling j2k input to daphne
Mike_da_Spike replied to thefuse001's topic in General
Ok. I dont have experience with daphne, but have an Elgato stream deck. That device didn't work when I have pbx running as admin. So now the stream desk running as Dmin and all works fine -

Do you have pinballx running as admin (set on exe file?) If so, you properly need to run daphne as well as admin. -
Update is easy. Download latest version and install install it. Run the setup and you are ok
-
No problem. If you start with this , and you get the feeling, it wil be much easier. For older gottlieb tables, I made some code that with f6 can be pulled up, but think I didn't do all tables ( pretty time consuming, to translate the dipswitches into a hex value).
-
Yes, as I said in my first posr. For the older rom tables, you need the manual to set it. For new tables ( after the 90's ... damned , if new tables are after the 90's , I must be old ), its the service menu -> adjustmemts and cucle all the options. I mostly set the value and coin door to cus, so I can set it up as I want. Its not a simple setting with 1 coin is 1 pound.
-
It's different per table and per vendor. I have the 4 buttons in my coin door setup. I can xheck what keys they are using in VP Think tbis is a nice thread to start With as well. https://www.vpforums.org/index.php?showtopic=34146

My pincab is on my attic (also my work room). I have coin chutes setup on almost every vp table I have. Why ? Not for commercial use. My grandkids love to use the coins and the validators in it. I have a bag of 50 cents and euro coins and they can play with it. But it also have a coin button ( what is barrely used) So I understand that people wants to setup the games for 1 coin is 1 credit
-
If you click on the select button on a table, do you see the menu option "Menú Principal" ?
-
For FP I don't know how, but VPX is different. Older (mostly gottlieb to 1978) uses dipswitches to change the coin chute behavior. I submitted some adjustment for tables and those can pulled yp by pressing F6. The easiest ones are the newer roms. Press mostly the open coin door button and select menu and navigate through it. You can set the ammount of credits what a token will costa and set the token value. The difficult ones are the alfanumeric tables. These doesn't have dipswitches, but you need to use the manual to set it. There are some VPforum threads about it. I try to set all tables to, 1 coin = 1 game for my left coin chute (50 euro cent validator) and 1 coin = 2 games for right coin chute (1 euro validator) I've made some documentation for myself how to set some roms to this

Can you post your pinballx ini file and your log file as attachment. I only know the English and Dutch menu options ...
-
Huh ? You say that visual pinball is showed on your backglass, but when it loads, it shows fine on the playfield ? If so, launch vpx and move the editor to the playfield and close it. Next time, it launches there as well.
-
Ok. Sorry. Not sure how your code is working
-
same behavior
-
I tried 5.10 this morning (you are so quick with updates !), but same result. The media is playing when table is launched and not detected vpinmame. Quiting the table, I see the video still plays, the playfield and backglass becomes black (video still playing), but when returning to front and backglass and playfield is show, it clears the DMD and nothing is displayed anymore. log.txtXDMDlog.txt (just curious, whats the log entry "Visual Pinball Player window foreground: 60" means ?) EDIT : Same behavior with version 5.11 log.txt
-
Lol. Must be my Denglish. When I launch a non vpinmame table, the media is loading during game play, but exiting the table will NOT show anything anymore on the dmd in the frontend.
-
Think you almost there Tom ! Launching a non vpinmame table, shows indeed after 1 minute the media for that table. Exiting to to PBX, makes it blank again. launching a vpinmame table after that, shows the rom on the real DMD and when exit this table, shows the DMD media it in the front end again Enabling 'use pinmame in the front end', doesn't show any rom in the front end and for launching tables same behaviour as above Hope this make sense to you XDMDlog.txtlog.txt
-
Hi Derek, What is your installpath of PBX ? It should not be installed in tne program files folder of Windows. Can you post your pinballx.ini and the files in the log directory as attachments?
-
Can you create a video of it what is happening ? Also, you mention multiple people has this issue, can you give an url to those issues? And did this happen from v 5.05 and you didnt have it with the bersion before ?
