I'm not sure what you changed to a png? In B2S settings you need to make sure you're on a recent version that includes B2SWindowPunch (https://github.com/vpinball/b2s-backglass/wiki/B2SWindowPunch) and in B2S settings under the 'More' button check that B2SWindowPunchActive is set (https://github.com/vpinball/b2s-backglass/wiki/Settings#buttons)

VP10 / VPX is the standard (https://github.com/vpinball/vpinball/releases/tag/v10.8.0-2051-28dd6c3), but that will be for any newer tables (from the last ~10 years). If you haven't updated any tables in all that time then stay with VP 9.95 to open your tables as they will have been created with VP9. It may be time to start thinking about updating your VP software and table collection now! (attach the log and ini files from PinballX anyway)

[RESOLVED] Tables load in Visual pinball but not in PinballX
scutters replied to Deadbolt Don's topic in General
Strange. Nothing different in the log for that table, i'd understand if VPX had an error but then you'd see a message box instead. Do you have the Quicklaunch plugin configured to do anything with VPX on table launches? (might be worth disabling it in plugin manager to test). It might also be worth trying @Mike_da_Spike's focus tool to make sure VPX is always in front (see [RESOLVED] After exit a table, PinballX does not close VPX reliable - Page 2 - General - Spesoft Forums / https://github.com/MikedaSpike/Bring-VP-to-Front/releases/tag/V1.1.0) -

[RESOLVED] Tables load in Visual pinball but not in PinballX
scutters replied to Deadbolt Don's topic in General
So the issue now is that the table doesn't have focus after launch? If that's correct do you have VPX video preferences set to 'exclusive fullscreen' (that normally helps for focus issues) -
@virucho28 Can you let us know if the issue persists for you and if it does supply the files requested. If there's a bug i'd like to fix it!. Thanks

PBXStatsDisplay V2_2.zipPBXStatsDisplay V2_0.zipPBXStatsDisplay V2_1.zip Here's a few older ones to try. But as @Mike_da_Spike said please attach the log and ini files from the plugins folder (that will help me try and work out what's happening) Please also try with the stats plugin disabled in plugin manager just to make sure that the issue doesn't lie elsewhere. Thanks

There was a new version of B2S released a few days ago; https://github.com/vpinball/b2s-backglass/releases/tag/v2.1.4 It might be worth trying to update to that. But yes, very strange issue!.
-
@zbubar Do you know which window has 'focus' before you alt+tab to the visual pinball window?
-
I can't see anything wrong with you button or key input configurations (was hoping you had the same input mapped to exit as a magna save or something). Are you also running any joystick to keyboard mapping software like joy2key?, there could be an issue in the configuration there. Otherwise it might be more hardware/wiring related. Something is causing an Exit System command to be sent to PinballX, be that a button or a keyboard input.
-
Both table launches in the log file are followed by "Exit System Control Pressed", so PinballX thinks you have indeed pressed the exit button. Probably a key/input configuration problem. Please also attach your Pinballx.ini file.

PinballX Enhancements/Features Requests

That was quick!, thanks Tom. Gave it a quick go and it worked for me with a test .url file and a FTP tutorial. Awesome!! 👍🏻 -

Can you do that, or would that be download the full file and then play it rather than streaming (my knowledge of FTP is probably lacking and/or outdated)?. Great if streaming from the FTP could be a future pbx option! -

Damn, that's unfortunate. Would have been handy just to paste a YT link into a text file or something. Oh well, thanks for considering it. -
No great magic Tom, a couple of windows API calls like ShowWindow. Works with PinballX in fullscreen too, windowed or non windowed (not sure if PinballX non windowed is equivalent to 'exclusive' these days or not). Think it mainly just works adding the overlay form as the plugin is a child of PinballX.

The pinballx.ini file might help, maybe it's just me but i still don't think i'm understanding what you're doing 😕 Are the Topper and Backglass defined in PinballX as overlapping (or same) areas, or are you using width/height and x/y offsets so they don't overlap?. Sorry, i'm just curious about your setup now even though you have a workaround!
-
Please attach your pinballx.ini and log.txt. Some screenshots might help too as i'm not sure what you're describing. Sounds like the 2nd screen is used for both Topper and Backglass media, but you only want to see the Backglass in PinballX? I'm sure that can't be it, so i'm confused! What do you want to see on the screen while in PinballX, and while in game?

Suggestions for monitor for PinballX tables, I have questions
scutters replied to DakotaPinball's topic in General
Even if the GPU can't do 100hz it would probably be fine for HD @ 60Hz so you could run that monitor at that refresh rate until you have chance to upgrade GPU. The change of monitor may still be worthwhile even if you can't currently run at 100Hz refresh rate. It depends what you have now, panel type (IPS/VA/TN) and whatever input lag that has. Don't think you'll find many people running VPX with the combination of a GTX970 with a FullHD display and the latest tables so it's unlikely you'll find out if it can run 100Hz smoothly without trying it unfortunately. -

PinballX Enhancements/Features Requests
scutters replied to Draco1962's topic in FAQs, Guides, & Other Useful Information
There's a bunch of Tutorial Videos on youtube (https://www.youtube.com/@kongedam/videos). Rather than downloading them and placing them in Media\Tutorial Videos, to save drive space could there be a way to open a link directly in PinballX? (e.g. have a .url file in the media folder instead of the .mp4 and then stream it). If possible then the option could be useful for Promo Videos too (as they can also be quite large) -

V1.9 posted with a change as described above. Now, using this source image; With these settings; Will produce; NOTE - Some compression artifacts are now created and can be seen if you look closely at the example. These are caused by use of colour gradients in the alpha effect. They can be removed by adjusting or turning off compression in the Image Compression settings (i didn't do this in the example as using compression keeps the file size down for a forum post).
