  1. You can change that in PinballX Settings while the issue is investigated (under display settings, set hide mouse cursor to no). Sorry, no real dmd here so i can't help with that.
  2. @Almodo can you also let us know what button (number) or key (if keyboard) you use when selecting a table? (just to check in Pinballx key/buttons mappings that it's mapped to Select and not Launch [launch would bypass the select menu]) You then also need to create 'active filters' as you wish, by years or manufacturer etc. It doesn't look like you have any created. Previous post on that here; https://forums.gameex.com/forums/topic/26442-resolved-search-for-instructions-on-how-to-create-filters-in-the-game-manager-eg-by-year-or-table-manufacturer/ Hope that helps, but let us know if you need more info.
  3. I'm happy with the DirectX11 route choice (but then i don't care about cross platform and i'm selfish!). Thanks for the looking at it Tom, appreciate it's nvidia that broke stuff and it's given you the pain to sort out. Btw - the next version of Visual Pinball will be built using BGFX as a wrapper around the graphics rendering for cross platform. Not sure if that's an option for pbx but thought i'd mention it.
  4. Probably.. but can you post a link to those batch files first? They might need some tweaks. (sorry, i don't have FP on my setup anymore after a rebuild, so bit out of touch with FP developments)
  5. Hi Tom, I'm getting mixed results, some videos play back but others don't. They may have been created at different times with different tools (with slightly different encoding?) Attached are two examples - the 24 video plays back with the Sample Grabber setting enabled, the World Poker Tour video doesn't; vidoes.zip
  6. Strange. Videos aren't working for me with LAV 0.81 and nvidia 591.74. Tried a reboot just in case. This is just testing on a desktop with a RTX4060. My LAV settings (which i think are default) I do have Hardware accelerated GPU scheduling enabled in windows display/graphics/advanced graphics settings, maybe that's a factor?
  7. Actually it might just be a bad nvidia driver update. I just updated nvidia from v581.93 to v591.74 and i now have just black instead of videos playing. I imagine rolling back the nvidia driver will fix it, but i'm out of time to investigate further.
  8. @Knievel Can you post a screenshot of your 'LAV Video Configuration' screen and one of the flv videos as an example as well. Tom's Convert-IT can probably convert files to mp4 (not sure), if not as a single file test you can probably just convert one online somewhere (you might get a watermark but it's just for a test and it can be deleted later)
  9. Indeed there is!. Creating (and maintaining) custom database xml files is the old way. The newer way is to use 'active filters', which is just an .ini file(s) that sit alongside the main systems xml file under the databases folders. Some more info here; https://forums.gameex.com/forums/topic/26442-resolved-search-for-instructions-on-how-to-create-filters-in-the-game-manager-eg-by-year-or-table-manufacturer/#findComment-203127 So to create a list of just Solid State tables (assuming that the main database xml has the SS Type set correctly for each table) an ini file like the below from a VPX database would filter to show just those when that list is selected; [Filter] Comment Year_from=0 Manufacturer Category=*SS* Description Author Theme System=VPX Year_to=0 File The advantage of the active filter is that it doesn't need maintaining when new tables/entries are added to the main database xml, the filter will automatically include any new tables that match its criteria. @Itchigo it's been a while since i used custom database xml files (as i switched to active filters), but i'm not sure you're seeing Big Game twice in All Tables because of an entry in a custom database as well as the main database. Can you zip up and attach your PinballX\Databases folder, then we can investigate further with a like for like setup.
  10. Pretty sure it'll be an entry in the Visual Pinball (not the VPX) system xml then if you are viewing all tables as that system is enabled as well as the custom VPX system, so All Tables will include both systems xml entries.
  11. Are you looking at the 'All Tables' view in PinballX?. The default/demo Big Game entry will be under default Visual Pinball system, If you have added Big Game under the custom VPX system as well then that might explain it (and can be fixed by removing the entry under Visual Pinball.xml database file)
  12. Yes, you can have a 3rd screen and assign it as a Topper, a virtual DMD or as an Apron screen. For Topper and DMD screens you can show whatever media (wheel image, company logo etc) you want there, as either a video or image file. You would need to copy the media into the relevant media media folder for that system name and screen type. You can configure PinballX to show the media in the frontend only or stay on after starting a game. If you add a 3rd screen and assign it as an Apron screen it will show your instruction cards, they will be displayed in the frontend and after launching a game.
  13. Attachment in first post updated to V2.1.1, small change to use https to reflect changes on the pinemhi website. Thanks @Mike_da_Spike
  14. I've used your mame xml with your pinballx.ini and PinballX opens ok with it for me. So it's not the xml. You don't get a "Loading Game Statistics and Scores" entry in the log file though so it might be the statistics.ini file in the databases folder that's messed up somehow. Try renaming that. I don't think it'll fix your issue but update PinballX to the latest from v6.95 as well anyway.
  15. Sorry to sound like a stuck record, but can you disable your AutoHotkey script to recreate the issue and then supply the files requested so i can investigate further? Thanks These files;
  16. Logs shows an error; 22:56:44.36 12/4/2025: Initial load gamelist took: 0ms 22:56:44.36 12/4/2025: Finding and matching artwork and videos 22:56:44.36 12/4/2025: Took: 0ms 22:56:44.36 12/4/2025: Started 22:56:55.67 12/4/2025: Error. Exiting 22:56:55.67 12/4/2025: 22:56:55.67 12/4/2025: Index was outside the bounds of the array. 22:56:55.69 12/4/2025: at ao.bb() 22:56:55.69 12/4/2025: at ao.b4() 22:56:55.69 12/4/2025: at ao.b6() And no database/gamelist is found, so yes a corrupt database xml file is possible. I think only system_1 (MAME) is enabled so C:\PinballX\Databases\MAME.xml is the suspect. If you add games manually to the xml you might have made an error, so switch to a backup and try that (if you have one), or attach a copy of the suspect MAME.xml here (i can try and load it in PinballX to confirm if it is the issue)
  17. I'd guess it's a .net thing on win7 It should be Exit Emulator to exit a game, Quit to bring up the exit menu and Select to either launch a game or exit pinballx from the exit menu (i.e. by selecting the exit menu option) Most people (i think) will have Exit Emulator and Quit mapped to the same key/button. Maybe those errors in the first log were from when you were trying to exit pinballx but were launching a game from the exit menu instead (because of the key mapping being the same for launch and select). Not sure PinballX expects to launch a game from there so maybe the paths get messed up.
  18. I use a USB IR remote extender/repeater with the receiver on the front of the cab to control stuff where the IR receiver is hidden from line of sight. Good luck with the new screen!
  19. Ahh, i think i see it now - you have Launch and Select mapped to the same key (k), so when you select Exit from the menu whatever table/game is shown launches instead?. Try changing the Launch key to something else. Not sure on that, would need @Tom Speirs to clarify.
  20. From the log PinballX isn't seeing a joystick attached - "No Joysticks Attached", that's probably why you can't map buttons. The log does show mame errors as well; 04:53:42.25 11/27/2025: C:\PinballX\Databases\MAME\mameUI64.exe hunchbak.zip 04:53:42.31 11/27/2025: An error occurred trying to start process 'mameUI64.exe' with working directory 'C:\PinballX\Databases\MAME'. The system cannot find the file specified. 04:53:42.31 11/27/2025: at System.Diagnostics.Process.StartWithShellExecuteEx(ProcessStartInfo startInfo) 04:53:42.31 11/27/2025: at System.Diagnostics.Process.Start() 04:53:42.31 11/27/2025: at ao.a6() I suspect you need to change your Working Path for the Mame system. Esc takes you to the exit menu but you can't select the exit option?
  21. Ahh, from the log you're using VPinball995 for some older .vpt visual pinball tables, but also have VPinballX64 for newer .vpx tables. So the problem is with vpt/995 tables only. That's quite old now (i've never used it) so support might be limited. Have you considered replacing the vpt files with vpx equivalents? Jack's Open does have vpx versions available - https://virtualpinballspreadsheet.github.io/games?game=aNhj6R4L You're on PinballX 6.58 so please update to the latest version (6.95 at this time)
  22. You can use 'alternate exe' for individual tables. You can set that in Database Manager, select the table and it's top middle on the screen. If i get chance i'll try CC with 10.8 later. Edit - CC works from PinballX for me (with focus) if i use VPX 10.8 too. Weird, not sure what's happening on your system 😕 Only if you want to run it as cactus canyon continued (via a table script option). It's two tables in one really, using rom for CC or proc for CCC.
  23. Good spot Mike... I can confirm animated gif wheel images also appear transparent in Pbx 6.95. Interesting thing is a static (single frame image saved as gif format) gif appears ok, but any multi frame gif is transparent. Apng format animated images are working ok for me.
  24. The file i have is from Sept 2022 VPW version 1.1 (117,560kb), Cactus Canyon (& Continued) (Bally 1998) VPW Mod - VPX - Pinball Tables - Virtual Pinball Universe. I open it with VPX 10.7.
  25. Sorry, can't help much with that as i've never had to use it. Can you let us know what version of Visual Pinball you're using (C:\Visual Pinball\VPinballX.exe) - a screenshot of the Help->About screen will do, and what version of the table file C:\Visual Pinball\Tables\Cactus Canyon (Bally 1998).vpx is? (that might be harder to work out, but is it by VPW or an earlier version, or different author). I haven't been able to reproduce cactus canyon opening behind pinballx so maybe it's a VPX10.8 table you're trying to open in 10.7 or something, or you're using an old 10.8 beta (but i'm just guessing)
