  1. Just wanted to pip in here. One thing Headkaze and I had talked about was having developer/publisher images so these could be displayed in gamex instead of text. The only problem is that to get the publisher I has to use the database (this is for all systems) and our publisher names are bound to differ. But... A great idea all the same. I will post a list of all the names that we use at some point after more database work (these are currently in progress).
  2. Thanks everyone, and sorry for the late reply. It was not because I had been too drunk from my birthday shenanigans, it was because, er... Well... Better late than never.. lol.. Thanks again guys (nullPointer you madman... lol)
  3. Has mine also. Though, as you say, it will involve a bit of work rejiggimg.
  4. Happy BIRTHDAY Celly.. ps. Null - I do worry about you sometimes - lol
  5. Please try this DB. This has ALL data regardless of it being verified or not. This will increase your hits, but.. not all hits will be correct and items like devs and pubs will not be matching our fairly strict conventions. Let me know if this helps? (remember to remove the sql version first - or rename it). Console Nintendo SNES.rar
  6. It should still display all the other games but not with descriptions though?
  7. I will check out the SNES DB tomorrow. Quite a few of the DB's have be rebuilt to a certain extent when the dat's were updated, so there may be matching issues perhaps? I know for a fact that you may find less matches with some of the databases currently as these now contain a huge amount of games that are in-progress. I can release new databases containing all database data if this proves to be the issue - though this will also increase the chance of incorrect matches. I am currently working on the SNES and Genesis databases and have just 90% completed PC Engine (omitting a few obscure Jap releases for now). I will get back to you tomorrow and perhaps post a SNES db for testing.
  8. I am lost? The update contains the latest DB's, which are the ones I had post and messaged to you. Please be more specific and I will endeavour to sort it out. Several of the system names changed in this release that may have caused problems perhaps? Ps. the atomiswave DB is incomplete. Are the Sega System 3 (now Model 3) games ok?
  9. Gameex uses SQL by default (so I believed) so it should work the other way round? Ie. if an SQL database is present, it will use then, otherwise default to the Access ones. Perhaps Tom can clarify?
  10. stigzler, can you let me know if this works for you?
  11. Stigzler, can you message me (don't post) the names of the roms that are failing to be recognised? EDIT: Don't worry, just try the attatched DB Arcade Sega System 3.zip
  12. It's best not to go editing the SQL files. I will have a look today and hopefully upload a complete db. Currently there appears to be only me working on the databases. We originally started on them in 2008 with a small team and that whittled down to just me over a short period of time. The only entry we had was from tempest of sorts. Lol. We tried again in September last year and got another small team together, though as of yet I have not had a single submission. We may consider looking for other long standing members to help with the databases. I will let you know if anything transpires.
  13. Did you mean Sega System 3? If so, check this out, Arcade Sega System 3.zip
  14. I will have a look and see what we have got.
  15. Just a quick note. A database is in the works that holds all the info and trivia including the theme of the table along with its type, players, designer, year, etc. This will be integrated in some way with PBX at some point, all going well.
  16. Thanks. Please try the database for me and let me know.
  17. +1 for magic engine
  18. Ok, here's one for the sammy as well. Contains 31 games, though not all will have the extra info. Arcade Sammy Atomiswave.zip
  19. Tempest is quite right. If you can use the DB's then they are a far better than using map files. With Naomi, if you are using the mame names (as you all should really be now), then the DB with not just change the names to the correct names, it will also add all the other info including the publisher, year, players, description, etc. So, I would turn off the map file, rename the old db3 file, and add the file I have post here. Please check it out as I would love some feedback. I have taken the toll up to 156 games or so, 95% with all data (missing a few obcure jap title's info). Hope this is of help to all. ps. if anyone would like to maintian the Naomi DB, please get in touch (long standing members prefered). Arcade Sega Naomi.zip
  20. It's not totally up to date but getting there. Remember, if anyone what's to maintain a database there are jobs going
  21. Just thought I would reply to this. The Naomi database was constructed at a time when Mame did not support any of the roms and as such, there was not a convention for naming them. So, the current database used the 'mish mash' filenames that were there at the time. I have just gone through the DB and brought it up to date (well, mostly). It currently contains 106 games. If you want to give this a whirl, extract the file from the attached zip and pop it in your database folder (DATA/EMULATOR i believe) and rename the currect sql one ("[Arcade] Sega Naomi.db3") if present. Gameex will then use the .mdb file instead. I agree that map files are good for changing the shortened file names, but the database has the additional benefit of all the extra data and info. Horses for courses I know. Arcade Sega Naomi.zip
  22. You do coding then?
  23. Thanks Guys I had a pretty nice time, well... all things considered lol. Thanks Null for the mention of ASM. That has made me feel really old now... I remember my first forays into asm back in 79/80. Oh, where have the days gone? Still, I am glad to say that (and thanks to Headkaze), I can still manage a few lines of code in-between trips to the toilet and light naps.
  24. Scroll to the end of the game list and you will see 'change view'. That one caught me out as well.
