  6. Tom, This is a great site with a ton of info http://eeepc.net/ I have the msi wind, eeepc 901, and eeepc 100h and Gameex runs levelly on all of them!
  7. Ahhh,,, That's so sweet!!!
  8. <blush> You noticed!!!
  9. A good analogy Night. I never found the delay irritating, any more than any other software that 'reminds' you of the work that has gone into it. I have always been of the thought that if something is giving you pleasure, then why not pay for it. There are exceptions to this rule though, take my wife - gives me nothing but grief and costs a fortune. I appreciate the countless hours of work that Tom puts into his project(s) and am overjoyed to be able to purchase such an involved and evolved piece of software for such a low price, and I toff my hat to Tom for making this available. I do agree on one point though, and that is perhaps the "please wait" screen could give a couple of days grace before apearing. One thing - I had to reformat my pc a few months ago as a hd died and I did notice that on a fast pc the wait was only a little longer than it was once I had used my key. Tom, how do you calculate the delay? I wondered if this is even longer on a slower pc? A lot of people think it is up too long and I did not think so?
  10. He's been on the Vodka again........
  11. Phew!! <skulks of back into the shadows>
  12. I am not entirely sure why it is not working for you? Can you run the games ok from the ScummVM executable itself? The roms must not be zipped and located in a directory within your rom directory.. ie. Roms/ /loom/ /lost/ /maniac/ etc.. Within these directories must reside the disc contents for the game(s). The rom path MUST point to /Scumm/games/ This is your scumm install directory and If you followed the instructions should contain small files named the same as the directories shown above. If these files are not present, please extract them again. This is what GameEx uses to create the game list. Once these files are in the correct place, you must use scummvm (outside of gameex) to add the games to it. Click "Add game" and select your rom directory that the games are located in (unzipped as shown above) Once these are added and you have modified the paths (if needed) in the GameEx setup - all should work fine. The main point is that you must be missing the files in Scumm/games (Or ScummVM/games/ if that is where you put ScummVM) I hope that helps?? It seems complicated but is worth the effort as it runs a treat when set up PS. I cannot remember the config posted now. but if you have put Scumm in a folder called ScummVM, then you may have to modify the paths to suit your scumm install.
  13. I agree with BK, There is nothing in force to stop you using a purchase of gameex on several of your own computers, but.. (there is always a but) I have paid for GameEx on all the computers I use it on (3) and do believe it is worth giving the extra support if you can.
  14. I don't know, do you mean that? Hmmmm.... I wonder!!! I still wake up in bed sweating as I have another nightmare about your second ever post in these forums
  15. .srm files are your save games.. These somehow are being saved in your rom dir. quick solution to double entries is to set the gameex emu setup to only look for .sfc (if sfc files are what you are using?) otherwise, check zsnes settings and change the default save file destination if possible?
  16. Once you have it set up, you should never need to enter the menus, apart from when changing discs, and then you just press return on the disc and emulation will continue, no need to press escape! Glad it is all working,
  17. The black screen issue may be due to show desktop being off in your config. As you can tell, the desktop is set to off on my config and it works a treat? so, this is puzzling, and perhaps the only (iano's) solution that I can think off. You say that the games work out of gameex fine, is this in fullscreen? One suggestion is to associate D64 files to CCS and double click and check it works that way in full screen. With regards to remapping F10, this is more the forte of Tempest or BK or BH. I donot have a cab so have not had course to do so, but I am 100% sure it is an option - just do not know how to do it You would then need cursors and return mapped for selection also. I hope it is just the show desktop option that is the cause. Hold on, just realised you have still got ccs set to default? You must have it set to fullscreen to work. Open ccs. press Alt+V and select 640x480 as a resolution (hopefully it will be saying Window). then press RETURN on the resolution line. Once in fullscreen press alt+F4 to exit and then try again from GameEx (leave show desktop to OFF for now) CCS should remember this setting. Ok, if this works, do the Alt+V again an try and find a resolution that suits your display and press return and then Alt+f4. The reason is that the newer versions of CCS do not use the same fullscreen command. But this should cure it!
  18. I spent the first few minutes of 2009 commenting on how great it is to be in the GameEx community, and then the whole freshness of the new year is sullied by the return of NoLogic (a very apt nick). I was not paying attention during the time of his ban and really do not have a great understanding of why, nor do I really wish to frankly. I can handle bickering that is fine, but to be called a moron by a complete stranger I not only find unnecessary and quite inflammatory. One thing I will make note of, my services are FREE to all to enjoy and up until now have been well recieved and have helped to expand GameEx, A plus in my book! So, why do I end up recieving flak from Nologic? Is it because I am Mod? does that mean anything? I'm up HK's Arse? Great, HK is a RESPECTED (a word you may need to look up) member of the community and a great help to all, so - I am happy to have that association. Anyway, not to sully 2009 I will leave this alone as it angers me the more I type. Happy new year all (even Nologic, for the shear hell of it)
  19. Wishing all a VERY happy new year, No, I am not gonna write any more poetry, that was a Christmas special! I have had great pleasure enjoying the rewards of a GameEx purchase more this year than any other and have had the pleasure of making some good friends on this forum (even Tempest - heaven forbid) So, without a glass in my hand (teatotal) I would like to raise a NEW YEAR cheer to all the members who have been part of the joy and the tears that have graced this forum since Jan 1st 2008.. Hip Hip Horray! Oh, and did I mention DirectX All the best to all! PS. I use the Avitar to remind me of less sober and more wayward times (oh the memories)
  20. great post Tom, And the best bit about it is that people really appreciate the work you have done. It shows just how hard you work and how much effort you put into your pet project. and while I am on the subject.... What happened to my DirectX transparencies that I requested last January!! Lazy Git!!! Oh, Happy New Year
  21. Yes, um!!! I can't help marvelling at the wonderful photoshop work - simply wonderful
  22. God rest ye merry, gentlemen Let nothing you dismay Remember, Tom, that programmer, Has another update on the way. To save us all from posting event logs, When GameEx has gone astray, O tidings of comfort and joy, Comfort and joy O tidings of comfort and joy! Merry Crimble to all the friends who I have made on the Forum, and perhaps even to those who I don't like! (It is Christmas after all). We decided to have a change from Turkey this year and have made something interesting out of cocktail sticks, earwax, and a small selection of clippings from Radio Times. No, not really - Roast Goose!! Hurrah for Christmas!
