ScummVM is a program which allows you to run certain classic graphical point-and-click adventure games, provided you already have their data files. The clever part about this: ScummVM just replaces the executables shipped with the games, allowing you to play them on systems for which they were never designed! http://www.scummvm.org/

  11. I had the same problem a couple of months ago. Not sure if this is relevant but I then grabbed all the mame support files like MameInfo.dat etc and placed them in the mame directory and updated the list. All the games returned. It could just be fluke. But may be worth a try?
  12. The centred selection option is in Evo (along with much more). Not much help currently I know - but.....
  13. I am currently finishing off the snes database. The nes one is progressing nicely as well and work will continue on that after snes.
  14. I was just picking up on this part of the post as execution from within GX would be full-screen and am not sure if the report of it working fine out of GX is related to windowed mode.
  15. This may not be related, but thought I would mention it just in case. I have been experiencing very similar problems with emulators (SNES and NES being main offenders). If I run them in a window, I get a silky smooth 60fps, but as soon as I run them full screen (as is my want from GX) the frame rate drops to 30fps. This is not GX, but more the full screen display being the cause (in my case). I still have not found the reason why this happens, but it certainly does. is this related, if not, I will return to the back of the room and sit silently? Run Snes9X in a window with fps display enabled and then ALT-ENTER to full screen and see if it suddenly drops to 30fps? I am using windows 8.1 64 if that has any relevance, I never had this problem under win7.
  16. Not only will it fix the hardware issues, but it will also mount multiple disks for you avoiding the need to do pretty much anything...
  17. Hello mate, Yeah, I think I grabbed and merged some of that data. My problem with the c64 is that it contains currently 22976 games... so, bit of a muddle 3D Tic-Tac-Toe is in the database, though only linked with the GameBase64 name, "3DTIC-TA_00049_01", though, if you have a rom named the same, i.e. "3D Tic-Tac-Toe.zip", then that should also match up if no other match is found. Mind you, you are not missing out on the description... "COMPUTE!'s Gazette 1984/06 (Issue #12) / game of "The Big 100" collection"
  18. I don't believe there are any spelling mistakes in the sega cd database, but if that is the case, please let me know and I will happily correct it.
  19. The database for the c64 is far from complete. I cannot look atm but I am sure that even though there are a lot of entries, the vast majority lack descriptions as of yet.
  20. You've seen all the trouble Curious George gets into. Lol I was working on the database last night. It's a large one but coming along nicely.
  21. Personal advice. Don't bother manually editing the databases unless you have a masochistic bent. You are lucky that the database you want is currently being worked on, so, I would just wait for it to be updated.
  22. Thanks for appreciating the work RedDog & Panja. Just as a heads up, the NES database is currently the one I am working on, so hopefully a more complete database will be released soon (time permitting).
  23. Nes roms should have descriptions for the majority of released games. I can only think that your rom names are very different from the norm? It would be great to have every game and Rom with matching descriptions and data. As I sit here often sifting few a few hundred thousand database entries, I wish the work was already done. It will get done and I am increasing the data on a weekly basis. It is a monumental task, so please be patient.
  24. Further communication via pm is fine. The initial problem with config of vic20 and launching of roms has been resolved. I will at some point do a topic dedicated to the launcher and improvements to compatibility.
  25. Draco, why are you removing resolved? The issue is solved. We are referring to the fact that the launcher cannot (and nor can the emulator itself) determine the requirements of every single rom. Some are bad dumps and some are games on a disk image that load multi-part and as such expansions cannot be determined. This little bit of the topic is per the request in the read me file for the launcher to let me know of any games that do not run so I can add support for them directly. Without the launcher, a HUGE amount of games will not run. Please read the read me for the launcher to understand the request (I also explain it in the original post in the beta topic). Evilforces. For now please pm me the logs for each game that fails. I will start a new topic for the launcher at some point.
