True, esp. using 7Zip text files are always good for compressing. Currently it's at 53.6 MB, but the "IBM PC Compatible" section is pretty big so the rip will take a while. I had to modify my scraper a bit to handle disconnections because before it would just start again if there was a disconnection on a system, this time I will have to have it continue off on the page it last tried to scrape. Still might take a day or two to finish.
  2. Sorry but the translation turned out pretty much impossible to understand. Are you trying to launch Google Earth from GameEx or some other software like Google Earth? If your using BabelFish try to translate small sentences to English. Please also keep topic headings in English.

    Dreamcast

Chankast. What do you mean "first to break the silence post"?
  4. The patch does actually remap some keys, namely: KEYCODE_TAB - will bring up the menu but also pause the game. KEYCODE_1 - UI Select (instead of enter)
  5. Err but Ms Pac man is in the list.. does he have the hiscore.dat in the same folder as the Mame exe? And does a file get generated in the hi folder after running a supported game?

No worries.. I'm currently up to "Sega Pico" that makes 27.9 MB of data scraped so far. Stay tuned
  7. Sorry but this patch is not supported by this forum as such things are out of the scope of this forum. The patch is a diff applied from the BYOAC forums, so direct your questions there.

Hey Nologic I just wrote a script that will scrape the entire AllGames website and output to xml files. It's still running (taking ages), if you want I can send you a copy of the files once it's done. Probably alot easier to process a bunch of xml files than the website directly. Up to you mate, but I'm really kinda scraping for the control info for CPWizard, your welcome to the data once I've finished.
  9. In my experience coders rarely sugar coat things hehe Brutal honesty I say all the way!
  10. Actually I didn't mean downloading the emu's via the Setup Wizard, I mean use the built in emu profiles. These have the correct command line parameters for most popular emu's out there already included so you don't have to create them from scratch. All you have to do is point them to the correct working path and emulator path.
  11. Taking snaps is never going to be an exact science. GameEx has to launch an emulator take a snap (using bitblt probably) and close it, and repeat for all games. Emulators are often not the most friendly programs to deal with so it's actually amazing GameEx does what it does without more problems. Since GameEx will only create snaps for games that don't have them, just keep trying until you have a full set (or download avi snaps off emumovies). Once you've made them it's done and you don't have to worry about it anymore anyway.
  12. Try getting the emulator running okay outside of GameEx first. Also with most emulators you have to set them up to launch in fullscreen mode. Are you using an emu config that is included with GameEx or creating one from scratch. What emulator are you trying to run?
  13. GameEx has to convert pages to image format before it displays so this is probably what is taking the time. I'm not sure how many pages it generates at a time but the higher the quality pdf file the longer it takes to generate each page.

    Scanner

This is not written by me but is an old utility that I use all the time. I think it's a pretty handy tool to have especially on your cab. Basically it shows you a visual pie chart type display of your hard drive that you can roll over areas with your mouse to find out what is taking up different chunks of HDD space. It's very handy if your running low on space and need to clean things up. Anyway, here it is. Tom you may want to host this on the GX website. scn2.zip

    Sound Issue

From the release notes of 118u2 Before doing that though, try using the -d3d option instead of -ddraw (you can set this in mame.ini as well) Eg. # # WINDOWS VIDEO OPTIONS # video d3d
  16. I think you can use SIDPlay to convert them to mp3
  17. Nice one Brian 500K thats more like it! 7 MB patch just didn't seem right. BTW That direct link to download the binary doesn't work (no hot linking), so I would just give a link to the download page instead.

    GameEx Bug?

When the option for the joystick to use is empty it means "use all joysticks". So just set it to use joystick #x where x is a joystick that isn't your Sidewinder hack. Maybe try disabling joysticks in the Setup Wizard.
  19. GameEx's default theme already looks like Vista's media centre. What is missing?
  20. Check out the videos I made for my LEDWiz setup (bottom of the page). They were made using a crap photo camera's video recording! Surely real video cameras can do better than that.
  21. LMAO! Can you do a low fat Subway version of Mame too
  22. Lol! My personal spell checking service is $50 US an hour That includes correct words like 'color' to 'colour' hehe Actually I realised why the patch is so large, your patching the 118 binary with a 118 u6 compiled and modified binary. I'm suprised it's not bigger than it already is!
  23. Yeah I thought as much. A patch has very little redundancy, and the self extraction code would add the extra size to it. I edited your post a bit to make the disclaimer a bit clearer. Executable is the word they use not binary, so I changed that.
  24. Okay I'll have to repost what I was asking before.... (sorry if this is more to the point than my last post) - Did you try 7Zip compression? - Where can people get the official binary for 118 u5? I didn't think official mame released u binaries. You need to be more clear that people have to apply the patch to the official binary and maybe a link to where you can download it. - Great work! People will love this!! Maybe put something like this on the bottom of your post DISCLAIMER: THIS IS A PATCH NOT A MAME EXECUTABLE. MAME LICENCE CLEARLY STATES THAT ALTERED EXECUTABLES MUST GO UNDER A DIFFERENT NAME. THIS IS ONLY A PATCH NOT A MAME EXECUTABLE. APPLY THE PATCH AT YOUR OWN RISK!
  25. Damn it, that will take some more time to work out now! Don't worry I'll figure it out Thanks for saving me time to figure that out. And the ini file will definately be a help.
