  1. The files are located in the DATA\EMULATORS directory of your GameEx install. They are databases, so programs like Microsoft Access can open them.
  2. Just use one of the Custom Art Name settings instead and you can name it whatever you want as well. It's on the last page in the Emulator settings section.
  3. There are usually a few alternatives when it comes to emulators. I always try to go for the free ones myself unless a paid one is really that much better. Emulation sites are the best way to find this information. Emulation sites have a list of emulators for a particular system and sometimes have ratings based on the emulation community and the site as well to give an idea of which are the better ones.
  4. Thanks for the report guys. Marked the title as [bUG] and also have pointed Tom to this topic in hopes he can get a fix out.
  5. Sounds good! I'll be waiting. Also you mentioned that you tried just a basic setting and it loaded. What's weird about that is that the settings save into the configuration.xml file and fullscreen as well as no menu settings are saved to that file and will be called everytime unless you change the command-line again. So something is just not right in your setup. Maybe a rights issue? Are you admin in that account? Also noticed that your GameEx start menu links were broken. Where do you have GameEx installed?
  6. What's weird is you saw how it worked from running from command-line which is how it should work from GameEx. Everything was fine. I keep thinking it's the darn advanced config somehow. Could you please try running and then then post the log after an attempt? That way I can see if for sure the advanced config is being used. Another thing to test is using the same parameters but with the batch file instead of the exe. For instance: ParaJVE_batch.bat -Game=[ROM] -Fullscreen=TRUE -Menu=OFF -NoSplash
  7. So in GameEx you're seeing the loading 3.5 disk? That shouldn't be showing with the -NoSplash switch. I looked it over and all should be working fine and again testing on my machine resulted in a successful launch. I'd have to see your setup to find out exactly what's going wrong. Maybe meet me in chat sometime so we can troubleshoot in real-time. Maybe even remote support as it's quicker for me to just see what's going on vs. trying to talk you through everything.
  8. Do you still have JoyToKey.exe? Are you pointing to it correctly? As it seems that's what's causing the issue.
  9. One is needed because it's dependant on Java. If you run this emulator and look in Task Manager, you'll notice that the ParaJVE.exe is nowhere to be found. So since this is the executable that is running it, GameEx looks for this and doesn't see it. Therefor GameEx thinks it has closed and takes back focus. Also you'll notice that the javaw.exe is in Task Manager and disappears when ParaJVE is closed. So this is the process we want to watch for. Please post your emulator config and your advanced config so I can see what's going on in your setup.
  10. I also agree with the others about Avast. I highly recommend it. I made the switch from AVG and haven't switched back and have never never never had an infection. But just because we've had success with NO$ZOOMER doesn't mean it couldn't possibly be infected. Depends on your source. I would run the file through Virus Total to see what results turn up. It's a good way to get different results from different Anti-virus Engines.
  11. Do you not know how to create an advanced config and need instruction? Or are you not understanding why one is needed?

    It's Here!

    Thanks for the contribution Draco1962!
  13. Done! Marking a topic as resolved can be done by the user who started as well for future reference.
  14. No problem! Enjoy! Marking as [Resolved].
  15. zinc requires the rom number, not the rom name. I assume you're trying to run this as a stand-alone emulator? If you want real time support then you can go to the chat room found on top of the screen for support. If not we can trouble shoot from the forums.
  16. Wait!! Are you trying to run zincgui with GameEx? If so then zincgui is a gui for setting up zinc and can run it but does not have a cli so will not just load a game from the command-line with a frontend like GameEx. Solution would be to setup in zinc gui and just load zinc with all the wanted settings.
  17. If running from zincgui then I would think it would run just fine. Is there any error's that pop up? A .cfg file is usually generated by the gui. Have you verified your roms? Please give more detail.
  18. Good deal! Enjoy! Marking as [RESOLVED].
  19. Emulator will be same as rom path. For an example just import the config included with GameEx.
  20. Good way would be to create shortcuts and simply run with the following command-line: ""[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]""
  21. There's no easy way of doing it without pruning out what you don't want on your own. Only dats I know of have the complete set so all versions of the table will be included. I created a loader a long time ago that opened the zip file and looked for the last version which in theory would be the most recent version number. But it's something I no longer have or use due to zip features included with GameEx. You're either gonna have to put in some work or hope that someone has already done it for you.
  22. Here ya go!
  23. Misfit MAME works just like MAME so the disclaimer will show the first time you run a rom. Compiling MAME is the way to do it for MAME but not sure how to compile those same features in Misfit MAME.
  24. Yay! Glad it worked. Enjoy!
  25. Nice! Thanks Tom!
