Well depends on the theme I would think. Using the default theme, the rom and the system (which you named in emulator setup) is listed below the list right above the amount of roms it found.
Good way to tell would be to run Fusion and use the load feature. Choose a system and it will list which systems are supported. Databases are handled by a few of our users. So the database thread would be a good place to post. A map file would be created by GameEx based on your content so wouldn't serve much purpose unless it was tweaked to your liking. What kind of filters would you like in the map file?
I would have thought maybe there was an unneeded Sendkeys or something that was being sent. For real-time support, you can meet me in the chat room (link located on top of the forums).
You are correct! For MAME there is no custom art paths. What more would you need? GameEx covers most if not all the known art available for MAME. As for editing the names that GameEx shows, have a look in the Text/Language section. The names can be changed to whatever you desire. Just make sure to change the Text/Language setting to - Custom - to apply.
That command-line should work just fine. So something else is causing it to pause. Could you please export your config so we can see what else is going on? Instructions on how to export your config can be found here.
Fusion would be the emulator I recommend. As far as setting up it's in the documentation for the command-line settings needed. To make it easy, you can just import the config in emulator setup and it will have the necessary settings needed to run correctly in GameEx.
The GameEx.ini file is located in the CONFIG directory of your GameEx install. If you want some real-time support, you can meet in the chat room as I'll there for awhile. That way we can troubleshoot better then going back and forth in the forums.
Well if your roms match up, then simply put it would list the database name. Usually the common name compared to the rom name like Super Mario Bros. vs. Super Mario Bros. (USA) (Eng). Oh what have you. Something along those lines. Just have to look at the databases to see the names listed.
Corrected the link. Reason for edit shows why. Please do not link to roms as it is against forum rules. Please read here! This is just a verbal warning. Thank ya!
I believe the data is stored in the data.mdb file found in the DATA directory of your GameEx install. I would try to delete this file (backup in case please) to see if that gives the results you're after. This is untested so am not responsible for this. So again, please backup the file to be safe!
Fill in the GoodName fields to match your roms. This is the first field GameEx looks to. Also, I would copy that file and then edit because if you edit the orginal, it may be overwritten during an update. So copy and rename and then edit.
Having link files shouldn't matter as it's not looking for the fullname. If you take a look at the database, this system needs a lot of work. The thing about this system is that it uses disc images and can't be scanned as easily as roms in rom management applications. It list's lots of games and their descriptions but don't have a goodname (your filename) to match them. So you would have to manually fill in the name of your roms.
This is coded into GameEx to use the MAME romset. You could however try pointing the another romset by using the command-line or by a config. Not sure how this will be handled since GameEx adds the parameter for you by default. This would be the only solution though at this time unless you use a stand-alone emulator.
Please post your log file so we can get more information of your specs and setup. Also the info on the machine you have it working on would prove useful to us (i.e. OS, 64bit or 32bit, etc.).
I personally wasn't aware of anything. Circo frequents these forums often so hopefully he'll respond or someone else who communicates with him to let us know what's going on. Sorry for the inconvenience. We will post more info when we find something out.
